Hi Paul, Rodolfo,

I've not misunderstood your suggestion, but as said Rodolfo asused (and
web-asused too) was removed (since 11/19/2012¹) and replaced by IP-analyser².

The problem is that IP-analyser require a RIPE-NCC account attached to a LIR
whereas asused not (because it uses directly whois query). And IP-analyser API³
require also a authentication token…

But this use-case is shared only by ±30⁴ other persons :-)

Therefore we do anything with this package? RoQA anyway?

Thanks,

Seb

Bug#732248: ITP: python-taskflow -- A library to complete workflows/tasks in HA manner

2013-12-15 Thread Sebastien Badia
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Sebastien Badia

* Package name: python-taskflow
  Version : 0.1.1
Upstream Author : Taskflow Development Mailing List

* URL : https://github.com/stackforge/taskflow
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : A library to complete workflows/tasks in HA manner

Taskflow is a Python library for OpenStack that helps make task
execution easy, consistent, and reliable. It allows the creation of
lightweight task objects and/or functions that are combined together
into flows (aka: workflows). It includes engines for running these
flows in a manner that can be stopped, resumed, and safely reverted.
Projects implemented using the Taskflow library enjoy added state
resiliency, fault tolerance and simplified crash recovery. Think of it
as a way to protect an action, similar to the way transactions protect
operations in a RDBMS. If a manager process is terminated while an
action was in progress, there is a risk that unprotected code would
leave the system in a degraded or inconsistent state. With Taskflow,
interrupted actions may be resumed or rolled back automatically when a
manager process is resumed.
..
Using Taskflow to organize actions into lightweight task objects also
makes atomic code sequences easily testable (since a task does one and
only one thing). A flow facilitates the execution of a defined sequence
of ordered tasks (and imposes constraints on the way an engine can run
those tasks). A flow is a structure (a set of tasks linked together), so
it allows the calling code and the workflow to be disconnected so flows
can be reused. Taskflow provides a few mechanisms for structuring &
running flows and lets the developer pick and choose which one will work
for their needs.

Hi,

I completely agree with you Tomasz!
I've just uploaded a new version of libx86emu on mentors.

It build fine in sid:
$ curl http://pub.sebian.fr/pub/libx86emu_1.4-2_amd64-20140316-1301.build

@Johann or @Vincent, if you agree, can you sponsor this upload ?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Hideki,

William doesn't respond anymore, and hwinfo is an ITA package.

Oh heck!!

Thank you very much for your work Hideki, but… this was already done in
collab-maint¹.

Sorry about that :-/ (I've completely missed the pending tag… sorry.)

We have just an (resolved) issue with all architectures (with libx86emu)².

And just for the record, gitorious upstream is not maintained anymore, Steffen
is using now github.

  * http://github.com/wfeldt/libx86emu

I think Johann already wanted to sponsor this upload, but otherwise I'd be happy
that it's you.

Hi Bastian,

Sorry for the delay, and thanks for this bug-report,

Just tested on a bar clean sandbox.

  root@1330b8e762bd:~# irb
  irb(main):001:0> require('rugged')
  => true
  irb(main):002:0> Rugged.features
  => [:threads, :ssh]

  # r10k.yaml
  git:
provider: 'rugged'

And indeed, r10k fails (with the non-default r10k provider 'rugged') with the
error, "Method unimplemented in libgcrypt"

According and quoting the upstream documentation:

https://github.com/puppetlabs/r10k/blob/master/doc/git/providers.mkd#supported-transports-with-rugged

« libssh2 on Debian and Ubuntu is compiled against libgcrypto instead of OpenSSL
due to licensing reasons, and unfortunately libgcrypto does not support a number
of required operations, including reading from a private key file. You will need
to either use shellgit or recompile your own libssh2-1 package to use OpenSSL on
these distributions. »

'licensing reasons' are tracked in the bug https://bugs.debian.org/668271

We take a look to change r10k hard-deps on rugged.

Thanks

Sebastien

Hi Tobias,

Sorry for the delay, and many thanks for the review and valuable comments!

Some first remarks:
-> I recommend to avoid uploading a new upstream version to sid during the
freeze. Use experimental.

You are right, I've just fixed that.

-> please integrate get-orig-source.sh into d/rules if it is still required (is
the new source now DFSG compliant? If so, document that in the changelog!)

The upstream tgz is still not DFSG compliant, we still remove pdf doc files
(#737478).

-> please update d/rules to short debhelper format

It's more cleaner now \o/
I think it's ok now.

-> please upgrade to debhelper compat level 9
-> please cleanup d/patches for patches applied upstream
and check if not-forwarded patches should be forwarded

Fixed, also suffixed by .patch extension and prefixed by a number id.

-> you can drop the B-D version constraint on dpkg-dev -- even oldstable
fulfilles it

A relic of the past :-)

-> can you please check if the override for conflicts-with-version is valid? (I
did not check the details,
so this could be wrong; it just smells like you want to have Replaces: and
Breaks: here, see Policy 7.6.1)
If you do a change here, be sure to properly test this.

Just checked, and according Policy §7.6.1 I've replaced Conflicts by Breaks, It
seems working.

Thanks again for the help!

The original upstream tarball does not include taskwarrior test-suite, for this
reason, we use GIT source tree.

When building with debuild, the build hangs after while: (However, in pbuilder

Yes!

It's because I've not included python and git in BD (requirement for the test
suite…) Michel also provide a patch in order to fix the generated binary
locations (in the build env).

It's now fixed, the package builds correctly in a sid clean schroot:

Hi,

At the moment, the « hide-list » in UDD Dashboard is stored
in a cookie (client side), but it would be great to have something
server-side in order to be able to share a « hide-list ».

This functionality would be useful in the case of using UDD Dashboard
with a team email, and so avoid having to watch the status of each bug,
and "hide" them individualy (for packages already processed by a team member).

Thanks!

Bug#762152: ITP: gertty -- Console-based interface to Gerrit

2014-09-18 Thread Sebastien Badia
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Sebastien Badia

* Package name: gertty
  Version : 1.0.2
  Upstream Author : OpenStack
* URL : https://github.com/stackforge/gertty
* License : Apache-2
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Console-based interface to Gerrit

Gertty is a console-based interface to the Gerrit Code Review system.

As compared to the web interface, the main advantages are:

  * Workflow -- the interface is designed to support a workflow similar
to reading network news or mail. In particular, it is designed to
deal with a large number of review requests across a large number
of projects.

  * Offline Use -- Gertty syncs information about changes in subscribed
projects to a local database and local git repos. All review
operations are performed against that database and then synced back
to Gerrit.

  * Speed -- user actions modify locally cached content and need not
wait for server interaction.

  * Convenience -- because Gertty downloads all changes to local git
repos, a single command instructs it to checkout a change into that
repo for detailed examination or testing of larger changes.

I'm planed to package gretty on collab-maint.

Hi Daniel,

Sorry for the late reply… (FOSDEM and real life :-/)

If you are in the collab-maint group on alioth, I purpose to migrate the
maintenance of this package on this namespace. (just imported using debsnap).

https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/glances.git

I'm not sure about the best way to deal with, but we need to remove those
minified files from the source tarball (repack or quilt patch). (I'm not sure
about the best way, the ftpmaster way).

Anyway I just used a quilt patch and opened a bug upstream.

Bug#817044: RM: ruby-amq-client -- ROM; Upstream dead (obsolete)

2016-03-07 Thread Sebastien Badia
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Dear ftpmasters,

ruby-amq-client (upstream amq-client) is deprecated since 2011¹, and
the code was integrated in the ruby-amqp (upstream amqp) project.

The new version of ruby-amqp cause a conflict (see 817012²)

I'm DM, so I don't have access to mirror.ftp-master.debian.org to test
the reverse dependency but it seems that only ruby-amqp use this package
(I just prepared a new version of ruby-amqp in order to update the deps).

Please remove it from unstable.

Thanks in advance,

Seb (for the Ruby team)

Hi here,

Many thanks Tobias for this review!
Just fixed all the issues/comments, if you want to re-take a look, it would be
super cool!

About repack, I just queried to upstream about src/tls/* (GNUTLS examples, but
apparently unused: https://bug.tasktools.org/browse/TD-110), we could maybe wait
an answer, generally Paul answer quickly.

And for config file I finally decided to ship a generated config file in order
to avoid init questions, let me know what do you think about.

Thanks!

Seb

Hi,

Just corrected in the 0.5.3-3 version…

Hi,

Thanks for the bug report, a new version with relaxed deps is ready in our git
repo¹, however, it's seems that you didn't upload ruby-faraday-middleware for
the
moment (and ruby-faraday-middleware has strong deps on ruby-faraday).

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
   ruby-faraday-middleware : Depends: ruby-faraday (< 0.10) but 0.11.0-1 is to
be installed
