Bug#826472: Interaction with GnuPG card much more unstable with 1.7.11-1.1

2016-06-05 Thread Oliver Winker
Package: libacr38u
Version: 1.7.11-1.1

Hi,

For me the change from 1.7.11-1 to 1.7.11-1.1 from this makes things rather
worse. With version 1.7.11-1.1 the interaction with a GnuPG card becomes very
unreliable / unstable.

It seems as if the card is continuously queried every 2secs (by scdaemon, gpg-
agent etc.) .The led of reader continuously flashes every 2secs. A fist pin
entry attempt always fails. Is requires several attempts to get something
done with it.

With version 1.7.11-1 it works significantly better again.

Bug#825672: Issues with libacr38 and gpg

2016-06-17 Thread Oliver Winker
Hi,

Indeed, works quite ok so far. Sometimes I need to reinsert the card 2 or 3
times, but pcsc_scan always sees it each time. So might be related to the gpg
stack.

So for me libacsccid1 looks good as replacement for libacr38. Thanks for the
info! :)

Bug#747665: kdm: kde tries to read all files under /boot etc

2014-07-18 Thread Oliver Winker
This one bugged me also some time ... . Are you maybe using locale.purge with
the "--path-exclude" option ?

The parsing of files as config-files from the cwd (in case of kdm "/") is
somewhere happening in libkdecore5. And it seems to have something to do with
missing locale files of the the kde-packages. A normal (intact) installation
doesn't do that.

One can reproduce/trigger this as well easily using "kde4-config". It shows the
same behaviour, when launched from "/". A gdb backtrace reveals then a code-
path in relation with locale processing.
---
cd /
gdb --args kde4-config --help
run
#> Ctrl-c when it doing it's logging excess.
backtrace
---

The following fixed it then (finally!) for me:

Deactivating the "--path-exclude" of locale-purge and then reinstalling all
locale-related packages:
---
rm /etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/50localepurge

dpkg-reconfigure localepurge
#> Disable the "Use dpkg --path-exclude" option

apt-get install --reinstall $(dpkg -l |grep "kde.*all" |cut -d ' ' -f 3)
locales util-linux-locales
---

Bug#616301: xserver-xorg-video-radeon:screen goes black, system hangs after 2sec:[youtube(FF/Opera)-reset req.]

2011-03-05 Thread Oliver Winker
Hi,

Same thing here ... with basically same constellation in terms of
packages and update timing.

For info:

Work around on Youtube: Disable HW accel in flashplayer (Right-click /
Settings on some none-crashing flashplayer instance (some other
web-site) using iceweasel e.g.).

So it might be maybe radeon, video HW accel related ... !?
