Bug#388701: status of packaging?
hi, i proposed also my help some time ago (oct, 19 2006), refused too. beryl 0.1.2 was released, and 0.1.3 is coming. i helped on Ubuntu packaging and 0.1.2 was uploaded yesterday for feisty. XSF svn for beryl stuff is outdated. Removing mesa copy from beryl-core don't take some much time. An upload of the upcoming 0.1.3 (or 0.1.2 if it is ready) to experimental could be nice. it's seems that there's already some FTBFS on amd64 and ppc arch. And finally, a cooperation between debian and ubuntu packagers will be appreciated ;) there's so many individual people who provide beryl packages in a poor state ... from my point of view, cdbs or debhelper isn't the problem and mesa removing too. my 2c. cheers, Fathi -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#396622: multimedia keys are not working
tags 396622 pending hi michael, after some investigations, kubuntu_12_kmilo_actions.diff patch adds only some new multimedia actions to the standard (generic) kmilo actions (volume up/down and mute). It doesn't resolve completely the issue. To resolves it completely, they have added to kdebase package: * ubuntu.xmodmap (laptop keycode -> xkeysym mapping) * 80ubuntu-xmodmap (Xsession startup script to laptop keycode -> xkeysyms mapping) * kubuntu_72_kxkb_xmodmap.diff (patch to reload laptop xmodmap on keyboard layout switch, after setxkbmap) The spec. behind these changes can be found at: https://wiki.kubuntu.org/KubuntuLaptopButtons I found on kmilo homepage (as kmilo lacks of documentation): > KMilo Generic plugin > > In the KDE CVS version there is also a generic plugin for all keyboards > with volume up/down keys acknowledged by X/KDE by default. Just start the X > program xev and press your laptop's vol up/down keys to check. If it prints > out some meaningful information, you can use it to setup KDE to take care > of these and connect them to RaiseVolume, etc. > > If it does not work out of the box, your X keybindings have to set up. > Usually, you do this in ~/.Xmodmap Example: > keycode 129 = XF86AudioMedia > keycode 144 = XF86AudioPrev > keycode 153 = XF86AudioNext > keycode 160 = XF86AudioMute > keycode 161 = XF86Calculator > keycode 162 = XF86AudioPause > keycode 164 = XF86AudioStop > keycode 174 = XF86AudioLowerVolume > keycode 176 = XF86AudioRaiseVolume > keycode 223 = XF86Standby > > This assigns e.g. keycode 160 to XF86AudioMute which triggers mute in the > kmilo generic plugin. How to find out? start xev, move your mouse into the > window and press the keys. .Xmodmap is read every time you start X. Use > "xmodmap .Xmodmap" to test your configuration file. For more informations, i asked to Jonathan Riddell why the patch wasn't applied upstream: > suse peoples say it's better to do that in khotkeys and since lubos lunak > from suse wrote khotkeys I'm assuming he knows best. Bug#407799: desktop-base: /etc/defaults/kdm.d/10_desktop_base overrides configured login desktop without warning on upgrade
hi, > Can someone please explain why this bug is only marked as fixed in > experimental? Please upload a fix to unstable so that it will get real > user testing and can be considered for etch. It must be uploded to unstable. > I see there has also been further discussion in the bug log about whether > disabling the KDE override is the appropriate fix. Is this debate still > ongoing? The debate is finished. Changes were done in kdebase 3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6 to fix the issue: if kdm theme is modified, we don't use overrides. We don't need to disable anymore KDM override file provided in desktop-base by default. > Is there any code in progress to support this alternate solution > on an etch timescale? Bug#407930: desktop-base 4.0.0 MIGRATED to testing
hi michael, debian-blueish-wallpaper r42 is the original. My changes r56 is just width/height adjustment -> 1024x768 to 1600x1200 to have the swirl centered. My changes r58 is svg source cleanup so the file is much more smaller: * r56 size : 108.9 kb * r58 size : 18.3 kb it was too nice to reduce the file by a factor 6 ... i must have lost some properties between r56 and r58. i reverted the wallpaper to r56 in svn to see if it resolves the issue. cheers, Fathi -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#394192: Security: integer overflow in pixmap handling (CVE-2006-4811)
Trolltech today announced the release of Qt 3.3.7, 4.1.5 and 4.2.1 - patch releases that incorporate a fix for a security issue identified in the Qt 3.x and Qt 4.x series. While no exploits for this security issue are currently known, it is recommended that Qt users upgrade to these latest versions. A security flaw was recently discovered in the way Qt 3.x and 4.x handles pixmap images. This issue can occur only when transforming specially prepared images from untrusted sources.
