Sorry, for the very late reply. I still didn't pack the new version, because since version 4 the Standalone GUI is missing, and they will bring it back in the next versions. They rewrite the code completely it seems. If anybody else wants to package the new version without this standalone gui, feel free to do so, but i'll still wait for a while for a new version with the new gui. Bug#84756: Shipping Clerk - flexible time work-at-home opening
Our company is looking for energetic and accountable individuals to occupy Shipping Clerk positions throughout the USA. These vacancies are entirely home-based and do not require any travel or relocation. They are also suitable for students and senior citizens who are able to dedicate up to three business hours per day to their duties. No special qualifications are required, although previous shipping or customer service experience is a plus. We are an international company providing mail/internet order opportunities for a global clientele since 1997. We are based in Russia, and also have offices in Latvia and Kazakhstan. Our business provides online/Online Order facilities for those who are unable to benefit from the convenience of e-commerce due to lack of a banking relationship with an internationally recognized bank or because major online vendors will not ship to their location. We have domestic purchasing agents who place the orders on behalf of our clients, and the goods are then shipped to the local shipping clerks for further sorting and international shipment. We also provide escrow services for high amount and/or web auction orders, and offer assistance with customs clearance, if required. Currently, we are looking for individuals to fill in the positions of shipping clerks throughout the USA. Your duties will include receiving, sorting, repackaging and re-sending the orders made on behalf of our clients using the pre-paid USPS shipping labels that you will receive via email. You will be paid $20 for each parcel that you ship, plus $5 for each order that you will need to re-sort or re-package. We will also cover any other authorized expense, such as extra insurance or shipping materials. Your remuneration will be remitted to you via Western Union twice a month. You can expect to handle 5-15 incoming packages weekly, following a 2 week probation period. You can perform your duties from the convenience of your home. You will generally be re-shipping the orders on same day or next day basis, so you will not need to sacrifice your home space to storage. You will only be receiving orders placed with reputable online vendors and delivered by major courier services, such as FedEx and UPS, who pay great attention to ensuring that they are not involved into trafficking any illegal substances or hazardous materials. Thus, there will be no risk on your end. We also encourage you to open and inspect each package that you receive to ensure the legitimacy and safety of itsâ content. In order to fill the shipping clerk position, you need to be aged 18 and above, have a permanent address where you are available on a regular basis and also have access to phone and email. In order to ensure that you can be entrusted the client merchandise, we will need to verify your identity and confirm that you do not have any previous criminal convictions. To apply for this position and for more information on our company, please fax your resume and (optionally) cover letter to: (309) 431-7288. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". I use something like the above command to back up a large share, so this caused quite a lot of mail from cron. Bug#305413: libfreetype6: Many packages which use freetype now segfault
Package: libfreetype6 Version: 2.1.7-2.3 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable A number of packages which were previously working now segfault. The ones I've found so far include Mozilla and Firefox downloaded from mozilla.org, the Firefox installer from the same source, gaim, xchat and gnumeric. Tracebacks of coredumps from other programs with the same issue look much the same in the top 4+ lines. I'm having trouble tracking this down, so it's entirely possible I'm blaming the wrong package. Good day [EMAIL PROTECTED], A Genuine College Degree in 2 weeks ! 1-206-350-5982 < - ccall n0ww ! Have you ever thought that the only thing stopping you from a great job and better pay was a few letters behind your name? Well now you can get them! BA BSc MAMScMBA PhD Within 2 weeks! They are verifiable and student records and transcripts are also available. This little known secret has been kept quiet for years. The opportunity exists due to a legal loophole allowing some established colleges to award degrees at their discretion. Bug#333854: pg_group file update problems
Package: postgresql-8.0 Version: 8.0.3-13 Severity: important Tags: patch, upstream Here's the problem: db=# CREATE GROUP g1; CREATE GROUP db=# CREATE USER u1 IN GROUP g1;(1) CREATE USER # cat /var/lib/postgresql/8.0/main/global/pg_group # The file gets rewritten, but the group `g1' line does not get added to the file. Continue: db=# CREATE USER u2 IN GROUP g1;(2) CREATE USER # cat /var/lib/postgresql/8.0/main/global/pg_group "g1""u1" # Now the line is there, but it lacks the latest member. Consider this also: db=# ALTER USER u2 RENAME TO u3;(3) ALTER USER # cat /var/lib/postgresql/8.0/main/global/pg_group "g1""u1" "u2" # The problem is that the code that updates pg_group file resolves group membership through the system user catalogue cache. The file update happens shortly before the commit, but the caches only see updates after the commit. Because of this, new users or changes in users' names often do not make it to pg_group. That leads to mysterious authentication failures subsequently. The problem can also have security implications for certain pg_hba.conf arrangements. The attached `98-6-pg_group-stale-data-fix.patch' makes the code in question access the system user table directly and thus fixes the cases (1) and (2), however (3) is doubly ill: the user renaming code does not even trigger a pg_group file update. Hence the other patch, `98-5-rename-user-update-pg_group.patch'. A byproduct of the main fix is removal of an unlikely system cache reference leak which happens if a group member name contains a newline. The problems were found and the fixes were done for PostgreSQL 8.0.3 release. The flaws seem intact in 8.0.4 source code, too. Hope this helps. -- /Awesome Walrus <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --- build-tree/postgresql-8.0.3/src/backend/commands/user.c.orig 2005-05-31 14:55:27.0 +1200 +++ build-tree/postgresql-8.0.3/src/backend/commands/user.c 2005-05-31 14:55:30.0 +1200 @@ -1286,6 +1286,7 @@ RenameUser(const char *oldname, const ch heap_close(rel, NoLock); user_file_update_needed(); + group_file_update_needed(); } --- build-tree/postgresql-8.0.3/src/backend/commands/user.c.orig 2005-10-14 11:00:16.0 +1300 +++ build-tree/postgresql-8.0.3/src/backend/commands/user.c 2005-10-14 11:01:09.0 +1300 @@ -17,6 +17,7 @@ #include #include +#include "access/genam.h" #include "access/heapam.h" #include "catalog/catname.h" #include "catalog/indexing.h" @@ -154,6 +155,27 @@ HeapScanDesc scan; HeapTuple tuple; TupleDesc dsc = RelationGetDescr(grel); + /* Look up user names by user system id. */ + Relationurel = heap_openr(ShadowRelationName, AccessShareLock), + ureli = index_openr(ShadowSysidIndex); + + /* Scan for system id equality. */ + ScanKeyData ukey = + { + .sk_flags = 0, + .sk_attno = 1, + .sk_strategy= BTEqualStrategyNumber, + .sk_subtype = InvalidOid + }; + + /* We expect the first index column to be in order. */ + Assert(Anum_pg_shadow_usesysid == ureli->rd_index->indkey[0]); + + /* And only one system identifier column type. */ + Assert(RelationGetDescr(urel)->attrs[Anum_pg_shadow_usesysid - 1]->atttypid == INT4OID); + + /* Finish scan key initialisation. */ + fmgr_info(F_INT4EQ, &ukey.sk_func); /* * Create a temporary filename to be renamed later. Bug#367621: samba: Panic or segfault in Samba
Package: samba Version: 3.0.23d-4 Followup-For: Bug #367621 Samba stops soon after being restarted -- and has done for a few weeks, despite ugrading to 3.0.23d-4. It sends me the following email (I've installed samba-dbg as requested): The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action, was called for PID 7659 (/usr/sbin/smbd). This means there was a problem with the program, such as a segfault. Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows the state of the program at the time the error occurred. The Samba log files may contain additional information about the problem. If the problem persists, you are encouraged to first install the samba-dbg package, which contains the debugging symbols for the Samba binaries. Then submit the provided information as a bug report to Debian. Bug#405597: cobc fails with internal compiler error
Package: open-cobol Version: 0.32-3 Attempting to compile a simple test program produces an internal compiler error. I've run this through one or two other compilers without problems. Best I can tell, the syntax is all legal. I've commented out a few non-essential bits, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I also tried making the records fixed instead of varying length, to no avail. === sample run: === yagi 7410 $ cobc -C -Wall -std=mvs test.cob test.cob: In paragraph '210-COPY': test.cob:77: warning: READ statement not terminated by END-READ test.cob:80: warning: IF statement not terminated by END-IF Unexpected tree tag 1413632580 Aborting compile of test.cob at line 84 codegen.c:802: internal compiler error Abort (core dumped) === test.cob: === IDENTIFICATION DIVISION. Bug#410766: grace6: Broken or incomplete installation, again
There's another way to reproduce this, and I just found it the hard way. Something somewhere in the inscrutable defoma mess, or in grace, expects that /usr/lib/X11/fonts is a symlink pointing into /usr/share/fonts. If you have a system that predates this layout, you may well have an actual directory full of fonts there. Obviously some X11 upgrade should have taken care of this long ago, but failed to. Package: apache2-common Severity: important In /etc/init.d/apache2, when a reload is requested (as is the case from the package manager during upgrades ) ALL files in /etc/apache2 are greped for a line begining with "^PidFile". More importantly, some servers have lots of BIG log file in /etc/apache2/logs, left over from an earlier standard, and all of those log files are searched entirely for lines begining with PidFile. The Perl script does hops and skips and figures out intended and existing targets for the symlinks ($target and $vmlinuz_target, accordingly), and if they compare equal, outputs the message above, doing nothing else. Debugging reveals that they do compare equal because they are both undefined/empty. Here's how $target gets empty: my $target = `readlink -q "${realimageloc}${kimage-$version}"`; At the very least, interpolation of $kimage and $version is broken. Also, since the intended pathname is a real file and not a symlink, readlink(1) returns an empty string. That alone wouldn't be enough, here's how $vmlinuz_target gets the same: my $vmlinuz_target = readlink "$kimage"; ... $vmlinuz_target = `readlink -q $vmlinuz_target`; The $kimage link target is resolved as a symlink once again, which fails, as it's a real file too. The whole need for doing that second resolution, as well as mixing readlink() and `readlink` in the same code is not clear. I had to fix the links by hand to move on, but the problem has to be addressed properly. Bug#385630: libsundials-serial-dev: missing header and libraries
Package: libsundials-serial-dev Version: 2.2.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable The libsundials-nvecserial shared and static library files, and the header file nvector_serial.h are missing, making it unusable for development in C due to unresolved symbols (e.g., N_VNew_Serial, etc.). A cursory investigation has shown that the required files are generated from the source package when the upstream build procedure is followed, but don't appear under debian/tmp/ when the package is built with dpkg-buildpackage. Bug#354544: Recovering from this problem
Since apt-get will _not_, contrary to the previous comments on this bug, install mysql-server-4.1 (it insists on choosing the newer 5.0), this bug can be a serious problem. The following ugly hack may help rescue some people: Copy the directory containing the offending database (e.g. /var/lib/mysql/oldtabletypedb) into /var/lib/mysql on another host which is running an older version of mysql. Set ownership and permissions on the copied database appropriately. On the other host, start the client: mysql oldtabletypedb For each table in the database, do this command to convert the ISAM format to MyISAM: alter table type=myisam; Exit the client. Copy the directory back to the original host. Fix up ownership and permissions on the original host. Complete the 5.0 upgrade. Bug#734080: Symlink should point to current netinst.iso
Package: debian-cd Version: 3.1.13 Severity: whishlist Hello, i am working a lot with Packer [1] to build images for VirtualBox or VMware Fusion, which will be used with Vagrant [2]. It would be great, if you could create a symlink which points to the current netinst.iso. For example: http://cdimage.debian.org/mirror/cdimage/release/current/amd64/iso-cd/netinst.iso -> debian-7.3.0-amd64-netinst.iso Otherwise we have to update our Vagrant configs, after each point release of Debian. Package: bacula-director-mysql Version: 5.2.6+dfsg-9.1 Severity: normal Our bacula is asking for additional tape this morning to complete a full dump. Full dumps are run weekly. We have a few more tapes than are needed to do three weeks of full dumps. Our retention period is set to 18 days. It seems it should be asking for HMF046L4, if it wants to use any appendable tapes first, or HMF068, if any expired tape will do. Obviously, we could force the appendable/expired issue by setting Volume Use Duration, but that's not really the part that concerns me. In effect, Bacula is asking for the youngest expired tape, not the oldest. This behavior reduces our available dump history from "might often have three generations" to "will never have more than two generations". -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.11-1-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set

Bug#691732: open-iscsi: umountiscsi.sh tries to umount / and /var
Sorry for the late reply, but I had to fix some other stuff first. On 10/29/2012 07:06 PM, Ritesh Raj Sarraf wrote: umount: /: device is busy. (In some cases useful info about processes that use the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1)) Could not unmount / ... (warning). umount: /var: device is busy. (warning). failed! invoke-rc.d: initscript umountiscsi.sh, action "stop" failed. Couldn't unmount all iSCSI devices. Cannot stop iSCSI service ... failed! I can't see a reason why / and /var got pulled in... Can you run the same init script in debug mode? At the moment I can not. I had to revert everything since production had to go on. But I think I can explain what happened. In the for BLOCK_FILE in $SESSION_DIR/target*/*\:*/block/*; do with no block devices present the /block/ is not available, which sets the BLOCK_FILE variable to (in my case) /sys/devices/platform/host24/session20/target*/*:*/block/* The sed command strips everything, meaning that BOCK_DEV contains "*" The DOS_PARTITIONS variable is then set by awk while looking for ^/dev/* in /proc/mounts. In my case that means the following lines match: /dev/mapper/vg0-root / ext4 rw,relatime,errors=remount-ro,barrier=1,data=ordered 0 0 /dev/mapper/vg0-var /var ext4 rw,relatime,barrier=1,data=ordered 0 0 And $2 thus contains / and /var umount now tries to unmount / and /var Adding the if-statement which should actually read: if [ "${BLOCK_FILE}" = '${SESSION_DIR}/target*/*:*/block/*' ]; then makes sure that if BLOCK_FILE is set to the expression, it means that some part of the path did not exist and is does not try to unmount what it has found. I hope this explains it better. Bug#691732: open-iscsi: umountiscsi.sh tries to umount / and /var
We can make this a long discussion, but I rather not. I do not have the knowledge to tell you what might or might not happen and why. I can only tell you what went wrong and restarting the open-iscsi service, without a block device being present created a problem with a ro / filesystem. But actually that is not the important. What is important is that if no block device is present, the script does not end gracefully, with the provided change it does. running without my change: # /etc/init.d/open-iscsi restart Unmounting iscsi-backed filesystems: Unmounting all devices marked _netdevDeactivating iSCSI volume groups: md3200_1 Volume group "md3200_1" not found Cannot deactivate Volume Group md3200_1 ... (warning). . umount: /: device is busy. (In some cases useful info about processes that use the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1)) Could not unmount / ... (warning). umount: /var: device is busy. (In some cases useful info about processes that use the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1)) Could not unmount /var ... (warning). failed! invoke-rc.d: initscript umountiscsi.sh, action "stop" failed. Couldn't unmount all iSCSI devices. Cannot stop iSCSI service ... failed! Which is probably not very user friendly. It doesn't matter if my system get Read-Only or not. With the following lines added: if [ "${BLOCK_FILE}" = '/sys/devices/platform/host24/session20/target*/*:*/block/*' ]; then log_warning_msg "No block devices found for this host, nothing to do" return 1 fi It ends more gracefully: # /etc/init.d/open-iscsi restart Unmounting iscsi-backed filesystems: Unmounting all devices marked _netdevDeactivating iSCSI volume groups: md3200_1 Volume group "md3200_1" not found Cannot deactivate Volume Group md3200_1 ... (warning). . No block devices found for this host, nothing to do ... (warning). invoke-rc.d: initscript umountiscsi.sh, action "stop" failed. Couldn't unmount all iSCSI devices. Cannot stop iSCSI service ... failed! open-iscsid is still running and a restart didn't happen, but that is another issue. No. Attempting to umount /, while it is mounted with errors=remount-ro, does not trigger an event to remount it with flag 'ro'. You cannot umount / because it will always be busy. You can re-mount it read-only manually, but that is a different story. 20:10:46 root@debian-x64:~# cat /etc/fstab # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # Use 'vol_id --uuid' to print the universally unique identifier for a # device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices # that works even if disks are added and removed. Bug#688907: postfix: Postfix ignores strict_8bitmime_body=no
Package: postfix Version: 2.7.1-1+squeeze1 Severity: normal With: strict_8bitmime = no strict_8bitmime_body = no strict_7bit_headers = yes in main.cf, postfix rejects messages with 8bit text in the body. The sample message which follows shows the typical case, which is a nested message/rfc822. Turning off strict_7bit_headers appears to remove the problem. Unless I'm missing something, postfix shouldn't be digging into the body at all with these settings.
