Bug#867974: libqt5gui5: new-delete-type-mismatch in QOpenGLContext destructor
Hi, Was more wondering about what to expect from the future of stable branch rather than suggesting to bump Qt version. For stable it's safer to just workaround this issue via ASAN_OPTIONS (it is possible to tell ASAN to ignore such class of issues). Not even sure how much developers will even run into such issue and for users this is not an issue at all as far as i know. So it's like nice-to-be-fixed, but not that important. At least from my perspective :) On Sat, Jul 22, 2017 at 12:00 AM, Lisandro Damián Nicanor Pérez Meyer wrote: > On martes, 11 de julio de 2017 16:55:36 -03 Sergey Sharybin wrote: >> Hi, >> >> Sure it's nice it's fixed in Qt 5.9, but does this mean it will never >> be fixed in Debian Stretch (aka, current stable) ? > > First we need to get it fixed in testing and see it doesn't breaks other > stuff. > > Then we would need to assert how important this bug is. Bug#869271: flightgear-data-base: Soft-link to tzdata should be absolute
Package: flightgear-data-base Version: 1:2017.2.1+dfsg-2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, file /usr/share/games/flightgear/Timezone is a soft link to tzdata's files, with a relative path "../../zoneinfo", which works OK in a standard installation. Due to this game's disk requirement's I've decided to move /usr/share/games folder to a separate partition, and soft-link it to it's new home. This resulted in fgfs failing to start with an erorr: "unable to find Timezone/zone.tab", due to the previous soft-link now incorrectly pointing to a non-existing relative path. Changing that soft-link to point to the absolute path "/usr/share/zoneinfo" solves the problem and the game can start normally again. I suggest to change that link in the installation package since, given the disk requirements of this game, many users would be tempted to proceed as I did in order to save a significant amount of free space in root partition. Thanks. -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.11.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages flightgear-data-base depends on: ii fonts-liberation 1:1.07.4-2 ii tzdata2017b-2 flightgear-data-base recommends no packages. flightgear-data-base suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

So, a versioned dependency should not be necessary (`cme fix` actually drops it). It also looks like the hurd-i386 package does ship this extension module, so the problem is probably somewhere else. Mozilla has various extra distrust/partial trust rules that are now coded in either NSS or Firefox itself. But we're not even using the distrust/partial trust information currently in certdata.txt. Other than what is in certdata.txt + code, there are also certificates that are distrusted by using OneCRL. I currently see no reason not to ship certdata.txt in all distributions. In any case, I think we should try to implement all the rules that Mozilla applies in all software that deals with certificate. And at least Mozilla is interested in that, and at least some of the OpenSSL people would also like to see OpenSSL have more checks than that currently happen. Kurt

This is really a bug in maven-bundle-plugin that is affecting jruby and probably is going to affect other packages that create bundles with that plugin during build time. maven-bundle-plugin seems to be unable to process jars including a module definition file (module-info.class) to be used with Java 9. In this case since libasm-java/6.0~alpha-1 jar files are shipping these files already, this is breaking jruby build. The next jruby upload will include a workaround for this. -- Miguel Landaeta, nomadium at debian.org secure email with PGP 0x6E608B637D8967E9 available at http://miguel.cc/key. Bug#784619: Linked my Qt4-Qt5 fork to upstream Creepy issue

As both you and me seem to lack the spare time required to get creepy into a releasable state, and response from upstream is hard to get, I agree. Lets ask for its removal and revisit the topic if upstream become more active and make the task easier. :) -- Happy hacking Petter Reinholdtsen

Bug#869269: reply questions
* What led to the situation? Uncheck sidebar via "Preferences" from the nautilus menu. During the session the configuration is maintained, but in the next session that starts, the sidebar reappears. * What exactly did (or did not) do that was effective ineffective)? Override the sidebar through the nautilus "preferences" menu. Standard user. * What was the result of this action? The sidebar remains hidden during the session. * What result did you expect instead? When you re-open session on the same user perform the view configuration without sidebar in the nautilus windows. Regards

Make sure that the popcon clients can submit via https and find out any incompatibility issues with existing versions in the wild. If there isn't one already, add some way of setting which certificates directory popcon uses, since debian.org hosts are now submitting to popcon and also debian.org hosts do not trust any CAs by default, just the end service certs and most software in Debian cannot verify end service certs directly any more so we have to pass the right directory to https software. https://wiki.debian.org/ServicesSSL Add another line in the LE config: https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/mirror/letsencrypt-domains.git/tree/domains Adjust the apache2 configuration to move most of the config to a macro add a https vhost that uses the ssl macros. I assume for compatibility you probably don't want to redirect http to https though? /etc/apache2/conf-available/puppet-ssl-macros.conf I think there might be some other things around public key pinning, so it might be best for you to submit a ticket for this so that all the necessary things get done. https://wiki.debian.org/rt.debian.org -- bye, pabs https://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

Bug#803013: systemd should not destroy application created cgroups
Dear Martin, You can create a drop-in like /etc/systemd/system/cgred.service.d/delegate.conf with [Service] Delegate=yes I tried that, but did not help; also did not help to do similar with file named /etc/systemd/system/cgrulesengd.service.d/delegate.conf matching name of running daemon. Anything else you suggest to try? My guess is that the above could not possibly help. It may tell systemd that cgrulesengd will do weird things and to leave alone, but it does not tell what to leave alone. How could systemd guess that cgrulesengd will write things into /sys/fs/cgroup/cpu,cpuacct/ and to leave those? I think this issue is a "true bug" in systemd, that it should not use empty (zero-length) string pto "path to" values in cg_migrate() calls: it seems an oversight to have assert(pto) but no assert(strlen(pto)) sanity checks in the code. Maybe I should check where calls with empty strings originate from ... Bug#858539: should ca-certificates certdata.txt synchronize across all suites?
On 2017-07-21 15:51, Antoine Beaupré wrote: On 2017-07-20 18:15:00, Philipp Kern wrote: On 07/17/2017 09:41 PM, Antoine Beaupré wrote: Let's not jump the gun here. We're not shipping NSS in ca-certificates, just a tiny part of it: one text file, more or less. Yeah, and the consensus of the world external to Debian seems to be that this might not be the smartest choice. I'm not sure I understand what you are proposing as an alternative here. Should we stop shipping ca-certificates? Or make it a binary package of the NSS source package? I don't think anyone has a good answer to this right now as the additional restrictions on CAs to implement distrust are generally not machine-readable these days and especially not supported cross-library. Also, what Mozilla enforced in NSS, we enforced in ca-certificates in other ways, through the use of a blacklist.txt file. So we can definitely fix #858539 without syncing all of NSS to wheezy. That is incorrect. nss/lib/certhigh/certvfy.c contains code specific to the StartCom/WoSign mitigation. Now the time has come for full distrust, we can sync dropping the certs entirely by adding them to blacklist.txt, sure. (Although they will continue to live on in the NSS source additionally.) I don't understand this: how is it incorrect? #858539 applies only to ca-certificates, and can be fixed without patching NSS. Now to update the NSS package itself is another question, again. So that was a mismatch of expectations. You said "what Mozilla enforced in NSS" and you meant the full distrust. I meant the partial one. I now see [0], which is for the full one, which is fine (which is also what I said). But my point stands that in the next round of distrust (say, uh, Symantec), we might actually need to push code changes to NSS. Sure, but that doesn't necessarily affect ca-certificates directly, in that we can update ca-certificates orthogonally right now. Sure. The proposed patch here, is more or less only to merge that very file, blacklist.txt. The *other* thing proposed to the release team (in #867461) is to sync the *other* changes to certdata.txt from sid. But considering *that* work seems mostly stalled, I wonder how hard to push on that. Of course, we could also just decide, in LTS, to sync with jessie at least: we do not need release-team approval for this. This would be (let's be honest here) really to get Let's Encrypt directly in wheezy, and I think it would be worthwhile. I think it's useful to phrase the goal which is: - Remove StartCom - Remove WoSign - Add Let's Encrypt Which is easier to get behind than "should we synchronize the file". Sure. The point I was trying to make here was that we seem to be favoring certain well-known CAs over other less well-known. I'm actually with that (e.g. because I don't like Amazon very much), but I'm not sure that's a position that should be reflected in our work. My point was that you state what your delta is and essentially boils down to attach the diff of what will actually happen to the .deb. I think it's generally fine to add new CAs and remove fully distrusted ones, instead of saying "it should just be in sync with unstable". The latter contains a lot more nuance if you know that some of the rules are only available in code. Kind regards and thanks for your work Philipp Kern [0] https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/ca-certificates.git/plain/mozilla/blacklist.txt
Bug#869307: agda-stdlib: doesn't work with a different agda-bin than it was built with
Package: agda-stdlib Version: 0.13-1 Severity: minor agda-stdlib ships precompiled agda sources (aka .agdai files). These files are specific to a particular version of agda-bin quite similar to how .pyc files are specific to a particular python version. When upgrading agda-stdlib without also upgrading agda-bin, agda tries to recompile the sources from agda-stdlib and fails storing them lacking permission to /usr/share/agda-stdlib (when performed as an unprivileged user). It seems like there should be a stricter relation between agda-stdlib and agda-bin. Currently, neither depends on the other. In 0.12-2, I added a Breaks to agda-stdlib, but that hasn't been bumped in the recent 0.13-1 upload (and bumping versions looks error prone to me). One approach could be to autogenerate the Breaks as follows: AGDA_VER=version of agda-bin with s/-.*// at the time of building agda-stdlib Breaks: agda-bin (<< ${AGDA_VER}), agda-bin (>= ${AGDA_VER}.0) Any other ideas?
