Makes sense, I think I'll do that.

I think this is the same as bug #583483; merging.

While I'm still weighing whether to change pam_unix for bug #583492, it is
definitely the case that pam_ldap's authorization checks should be
'Additional' and not 'Primary' because, as seen here, they are intended to
always be applied *in addition* to any authorization checks from other
modules.

Hi,

it would be nice if tmux would support including other configuration
files, either via an include statement in /etc/tmux.conf, or better,
automatically read all files in /etc/tmux.conf.d/, if existing (same for
~/.tmux.conf resp. ~/.tmux.conf.d/).

Bug#629621: maven-debian-helper: --usj-name does not get used from debian/xxx.poms file

2011-06-08 Thread James Page
Package: maven-debian-helper
Version: 1.4.2
Severity: normal

I want to be able to specify a different /usr/share/java
base name for JAR files; --usj-name in the debian/xxx.poms
file looks like it does the job but when the library is
installed it ignores this setting.

This is a outside use-case but does effect some packages
I'm currently working on.

I'm working around this issue by using

DEB_MAVEN_INSTALL_TO_USJ := false

And re-installing the JARs using tailored mh_installjar
commands in debian/rules

Cheers

James

Bug#629623: gosa: uid and guid of deleted users are reused.

2011-06-08 Thread Klaus Ade Johnstad
Package: gosa
Severity: normal

When I delete a user, the next created user gets his uid and guid.
This gives the newly created user access to all the files of the former
deleted user that he has stored in places such as /tmp/ /var/tmp
/var/spool/mail and other places.

This is what it looks like:
I create the user testes:
root@tjener:/skole/tjener/home0# ls -dln testes
drwxr-xr-x 3 1003 1003  4096  8 juni  09:47 testes
Then I delete the user testes and create the user klakla:
root@tjener:/skole/tjener/home0# ls -dln klakla
drwxr-xr-x 3 1003 1003 4096  8 juni  09:52 klakla

Both user gets 1003:1003

Bug#629624: python-apt: acquire.run() should fail when the lists/partial directory is missing

2011-06-08 Thread Raphaël Hertzog
Package: python-apt
Version: 0.8.0
Severity: normal

Consider the following code:
import sys
import apt_pkg

apt_pkg.init_config()
apt_pkg.config["Dir::Etc"] =
"/home/rhertzog/deb/core/rolling/sat-britney/apt-etc"
apt_pkg.config["Dir::State"] =
"/home/rhertzog/deb/core/rolling/sat-britney/apt-state"
apt_pkg.config["Dir::Cache"] =
"/home/rhertzog/deb/core/rolling/sat-britney/apt-cache"
apt_pkg.init_system()

acquire = apt_pkg.Acquire()
srclist = apt_pkg.SourceList()
if not srclist.read_main_list():
sys.stdout.write("Failed to read sources.list")
if srclist.get_indexes(acquire, True):
sys.stdout.write("Update OK\n")
else:
sys.stdout.write("Update failed\n")
res = acquire.run()
if res == apt_pkg.Acquire.RESULT_CONTINUE:
sys.stdout.write("Download OK\n")
else:
sys.stdout.write("Download failed\n")

I have a created a simple sources.list in Dir::Etc (listing an http:// URL) but
I'm missing a partial directory in Dir::State::lists. The code will execute
without errors but no files will be downloaded.

Either it should auto-create the "partial" sub-dir or it should fail
with a proper error/exception. The current behavior is sub-optimal.

Cheers,

Bug#622117: Build host name on https://buildd.debian.org/status/logs.php

2011-06-08 Thread nomeata
Hi Phil,

thanks for the pointer about the test suite. I also noticed that the builder
name is already parsed in _parse_sender(). I hence added to the tests a check
that the builder is actually parsed correctly, and then added it to the fields
to be inserted.

This of course needs appropriate changes to the SQL schema as stored in the
wanna-build git repository. I’ll send a patch, but again I guess it will be
hard to test the patch...

If this is accepted and in place, and the first build logs have the builder
set, I’ll look into patch pgstatus and maybe also cooking up a script to set
the field for pasts build logs.

Greetings,
Joachim

for the case of jasper, does it require any special treatment, or is all

Yes, it should be version agnostic and works only on top of cyrus-db-types.txt

Yes, you do.

Well, you can also delete the duplicate.db it doesn't contain any
important information.

Also you need to delete /var/lib/cyrus/db/ (backup it first).

But the script should work.

thanks for the test case, even though I can't reproduce it. A full
backtrace might be nice:

Sorry but we are definitely not going to apply such a change without
upstream accepting it first. Please discuss this with upstream.

Bug#629626: gosa should also lock the homedir of a deleted user.

2011-06-08 Thread Klaus Ade Johnstad
Package: gosa
Severity: normal

When a user is deletd in gosa, the homedir gets a new name, and
is set to owned by root:root. Gosa should also lock the newly named
homedir, using 0700 as permissions.

The homedir of the deletd user klaus currently looks like this:
drwxr-xr-x 5 root   root4096  8 juni  09:52 rm_20110608_klaus
It would be better securitywise if it looked like this:
drwx-- 5 root   root4096  8 juni  09:52 rm_20110608_klaus

Bug#629627: linux-2.6: please support kdump (enable CONFIG_CRASH_DUMP=y?)

2011-06-08 Thread Timo Juhani Lindfors
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.32-34squeeze1
Severity: wishlist

kexec, kdump and crash are pretty powerful debugging tools. It would be
nice if debian kernels supported kdump fully. If I read
/usr/share/doc/kdump-tools/README.Debian correctly this would involve
enabling CONFIG_CRASH_DUMP=y.

I could not find discussion on why this is not done. Are there any
serious drawbacks? If there are, I'm fine with having to build my own
kernels but lets document the problems somewhere please :-)

Bug#629628: RFP: u3d -- library for producing U3D files

2011-06-08 Thread Salvatore Bonaccorso
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: u3d
  Version : 1.4.2
  Upstream Author : Alexey Balakin
* URL :
http://sourceforge.net/projects/mathgl/files/u3d-1.4.2.tar.gz
* License : Apache License 2.0
  Programming Lang: C++
  Description : library for producing U3D files

Alexey Balakin, author of udav/mathgl asked for inclusion of u3d in
Debian. u3d is a library for producing U3D files. MathGL can use it
for producing u3d and u3d-pdf files directly.

Is anyone (e.g. from debian-science) who would like to have a look at
it?

Please retry with 275.09.04-1. This is said to fix some KDE issues, but
eventually it helps in your case, too.
If it does not help, please check the NVIDIA forums for a matching
report and add additional information there or create a new report. The
NVIDIA bug reporting instructions can be found here:
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=46678
Please post the URL to an existing or new thread here, so that we may

Bug#590214: (half) patch to receive reportbug submission via HTTP transport

2011-06-08 Thread Stefano Zacchiroli
tags 590269 + patch
thanks

As briefly discussed on IRC, here is (half) patch to implement this
feature request. It's a CGI that:

- receive via HTTP file upload a bug report. The bug report is meant to
  prepared on the user machine by reportbug as usual, so by default it
  will contain all the information that mail-submitted bug reports
  contain

- do some syntax checking on the bug report, and fail with an HTTP error
  code if that fails

- do some mail header sanitization to reduce SPAM effects. AFAICT, after
  sanitization the SPAM risks of using the CGI would be the same that we
  have at present with the mail-based submission interface

It's only half a patch because, for complete testing, we also need a
patch for #590214 (Cc:-ed), i.e. we need support in reportbug for
delivering a MIME bug report via HTTP upload rather than via mail. If a
kind soul can write this, I'll be happy to set up a test instance of the
script for more wide testing.

Note that at present, the following testing path does *not* work
properly:

- prepare a bug report with reportbug
- save it as a draft on disk and quit
- upload the file using the CGI

because the "save to draft" feature of reportbug does not save the
entire MIME bug report (e.g. it lacks attachments and other details). So
we really need proper HTTP upload support in reportbug to proceed.

If nevertheless someone want to test the attached CGI, you need to set
$bts_to to 'sub...@bugs.debian.org' and $DEBUG to 0 (see comments in the
source code).

Feedback is welcome,
Cheers.

yes, still reproducible here. Do you have the EWMH-module active in your

U3D is also needed for meshlab, so packages would be nice to have.
Unfortunately I'm too busy at the moment to take on another package,
so if anyone is looking for stuff to do, please have a look :)

If you want us to look into this issue, please open a new bug report and
give detailed lists of *nvidia* packages you installed and removed, as
well as the error messages from nvidia-installer. The nvidia-installer
probably won't work properly as long as any *nvidia* package is still
installed, eventually they even need to be purged.

I don't know what NVIDIA uses to get the power information ...
eventually some delayed ACPI reaction?

I'm sorry but I have no idea how to help with this problem.
You might consider bugging NVIDIA about it, but don't expect a reaction:

Bug#629630: iproute: New 'tuntap' object isn't documented in ip's man page

2011-06-08 Thread Frederic Boiteux
Package: iproute
Version: 20100519-3
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

  I've noticed that 'ip' command from iproute package now have a 'tuntap' object
which let you define such type of device, instead of using tunctl of
uml-utilities for example :

$ ip tuntap help
Usage: ip tuntap { add | del } [ dev PHYS_DEV ]
  [ mode { tun | tap } ] [ user USER ] [ group GROUP ]
  [ one_queue ] [ pi ] [ vnet_hdr ]

Where: USER  := { STRING | NUMBER }
   GROUP := { STRING | NUMBER }

  It could be nice to have it documented in 'ip' manual page.

 Fred.

What I saw is a bit different: I can start gtk-window-decorator, just
fine, and it does not segfault. Window controls are missing
nevertheless.

(Though, it might be the same underlying problem, just a different
manifestation of it in my case)

Bug#629632: multiple routers metric

2011-06-08 Thread Németh Csaba
Package: isc-dhcp-client
Version: 4.1.1-P1-15+squeeze2

If I define multiple routers on dhcpd-server (line 'option routers'),
the client doesn't add metric for gateways.

Original lines:
for router in $new_routers; do
 route add default dev $interface gw $router $metric_arg
done

Maybe the solution:

metric_arg=1
for router in $new_routers; do
 route add default dev $interface gw $router $metric_arg
 metric_arg=$(( $metric_arg+1 ))
done

Sorry for my poor English

I can send you a 195xx nvidia-kernel-dkms package that should work with
2.6.38 and newer kernels. But you will need the Xorg from squeeze as
195xx does not support anything newer.

I'm still verifying (and probably won't be *entirely* certain until we
make the switch in production ...), but at this point I think that
'--initramfs none --packages jasper' is enough to make it work. Thanks.

I'm sorry but I have no idea how to help with this problem.

Fair enough. I did actually already mention this on the nvnews forums
briefly and without response. I guess this just has to be closed as
unsolvable then.

Looks like the ping method is broken from here. I saw that you made
another release, it doesn't seem to have hit any of the mirrors I've
tried so far. I will upgrade once it becomes available (in perhaps
the standard ten days), and I will report back.

Bug#629635: grub-pc: on reboot grub hangs at floppy detect

2011-06-08 Thread Daniel Dickinson
Package: grub-pc
Version: 1.99~rc1-13
Severity: minor

On an ASUSS M3A78-CM motherboard with SATA drives a floppy booting after a
completely fresh power-up (e.g. power-supply turned off) work properly, however
a reboot, or shutdown but not complete powercycle (via back-of-computer power
supply on-off switch), GRUB reboots at the point where floppy drive detection
occurs, and on the subsquent reboot hangs at that same spot. Doing a total
powercycle fixes the problem.

Bug#629636: linux-image-2.6.32-5-kirkwood: IPsec aes-sha1 with kirkwood/mv_cesa causes CPU to spin

2011-06-08 Thread Alexander Clouter
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.32-34squeeze1
Severity: normal

Whilst deploying IPsec (with strongswan-ike2) I ran into a complication[1]
that causes mv_cesa to spin the CPU when the system receives an IPsec ESP
packet; it seems to be able to send traffic (before the CPU spin) as a
ICMP Echo request (a la pin) out from the system out is okay, until the
ICMP Reply comes back. The packet never 'arrives' as far as userspace is
concerned and the only way to stop the CPU spinning is a reboot.

The configuration I have been using is:
 server (Marvell OpenRD)
conn %default
keyexchange=ikev2
mobike=no
auto=add

conn soas-v6
left=2001:db8:f00:ba4::1
leftprotoport=tcp/echo
right=%any
authby=secret
type=transport

conn soas-v4
left=192.0.2.1
leftprotoport=tcp/echo
right=%any
authby=secret
type=transport

 client (my x86-filth laptop)
conn %default
keyexchange=ikev2
mobike=no
auto=route

conn soas-v6
left=%defaultroute
right=2001:db8:f00:ba4::1
rightprotoport=tcp/echo
authby=secret
type=transport

conn soas-v4
left=%defaultroute
right=192.0.2.1
rightprotoport=tcp/echo
authby=secret
type=transport

Noticing that IPsec is doing hardware offloading, I looked to see what has
been happening to mv_cesa.c since v2.6.32[2] and nothing stands out other
than 750052dd where SHA1 is enabled (which was backported into 2.6.32)
and there does not seem to be anything bug fixing wise since.

So I tried disabling SHA1 by tinkering with the server side of the
configuration to add:

conn %default
esp=aes-md5

Now using md5, things start to work. Looks to me as either SHA1 does
not work with IPsec, or when it is combined with at least AES.

If more information is needed then do get intouch.

Cheers

Bug#622146: Not working...

2011-06-08 Thread Alberto Gonzalez Iniesta
Ok, got tired of this now. I don't know how it worked a couple of days
ago, I'm not able to get it to work now. Either with 1.9 or 1.9.1.

Only the des-cbc-md5 or des-cbc-crc keys in the client's keytab, with both:
allow_weak_crypto = yes
permitted_enctypes = des-cbc-(md5|crc)

Or just with allow_weak_crypto

No way to mount, with the known errors on the server.
I'll play with this again in some days, sshfs will do the job for the
time being.

livecd-rootfs has a facility to create an empty swap file on ext2/ext3
images, which Ubuntu's boot scripts then deal with using or deleting as
appropriate at the first boot. Apparently this cuts three minutes off
the boot time of our preinstalled (jasper-based) images on ARM.

This seems like a sufficiently useful facility (at least relative to
ext2/ext3 images) that it would be nice to have it as options rather
than hooks.  Patch attached.

Thanks,

Mmm, again, I am not a PAM expert, but the above is not true *if* it is
possible to not have any pam_unix (or any other 'Primary' module) checks
at all, thus relying on pam_ldap only. Obviously, this applies to
libpam-ldapd as well.

Anyway, I leave all this stuff to more experienced people and stay quiet
unless asked for :-)

Bug#629639: cycle: Translation error in legend

2011-06-08 Thread Meike Reichle
Package: cycle
Version: 0.3.1-7
Severity: minor
Tags: l10n

There is a small translation error in the German version of cycle, more
specifically in the colour legend. Where it says "ovulation, birth" in the
English version, the German version only says "Geburt" ("birth"). Because
of this omission the calendar practically tells me I'll have a baby every
month for the foreseeable future, which is somewhat disconcerting news ;)

The correct translation would be "Eisprung, Geburt".

No biggie but may be worth fixing in the next version.

I moved on to different hardware so cannot say whether that’s fixed my problem

Bug#629640: check_ping: should fall back to IPv4 if IPv6 is not available

2011-06-08 Thread Chris Butler
Package: nagios-plugins
Version: 1.4.15-3
Severity: minor

When neither the -4 nor -6 options are specified on the command-line, one
would expect the check_ping plugin to try both (as most programs do).
Instead, if it finds an record for the hostname given, it will *only*
try IPv6, and fail if no IPv6 connectivity is available.

e.g. on a fully dual-stacked host:

chrisb@cob:~$ /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_ping -H www.google.co.uk -w
3000.0,80% -c 5000.0,100% -p 1
PING OK - Packet loss = 0%, RTA = 19.56
ms|rta=19.555000ms;3000.00;5000.00;0.00 pl=0%;80;100;0

but on a machine with IPv4 only:

chrisb@squeeze-vm:~$ /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_ping -H www.google.co.uk -w
3000.0,80% -c 5000.0,100% -p 1
CRITICAL - Network Unreachable (www.google.co.uk)

We noticed this earlier today, when Google started publishing an record
for www.google.co.uk et al. Happy IPv6 day ;)

I realise this testcase may stop working after today, but any host that
publishes both A and records should do (e.g. ftp.uk.debian.org)

Set to 'minor' severity, since using the -4 and -6 options works, and if
you're specifically testing for v4/v6 connectivity you'd be using them.

Bug#629641: ITP: filo -- FILe and stream Operations

2011-06-08 Thread Charles Plessy
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Charles Plessy

  Package name: filo
  Version : 1.1.0
  Upstream Author : Aaron Quinlan, University of Virginia; Assaf Gordon, Cold
Spring Harbor Laboratories
  URL : https://github.com/arq5x/filo
  License : GPL-2.0

  Description : FILe and stream Operations

 The following tools are available as part of the filo package:
 .
 groupBy is a useful tool that mimics the "groupBy" clause in database
 systems.
 .
 shuffle will randomize the order of lines in a file. In other words,
 if you have a sorted file, shuffle will undo the sort.
 .
 stats is a small utility for computing descriptive statistic on a
 given column of a tab-delimited file or stream.

groupBy is a command that was formerly part of the BEDtools package
for bioinformatics, very recently accepted in Debian, and that its
users will probably miss if it is not available.

In any case this needs fixing in compiz. I’ll add the necessary Breaks

  Description : Perl module to write tests in a declarative specification

This is a declarative specification-style testing system for behavior-driven
development (BDD) in Perl. The tests (a.k.a. examples) are named with strings
instead of subroutine names, so your fingers will suffer less fatigue from
underscore-itis, with the side benefit that the test reports are more
legible.

Test::Spec is inspired by and borrows heavily from RSpec, a BDD tool for the
Ruby programming language.

Note that this is a build dependency of the new version of perlbrew.

Sorry for so general description - there has been several days

I am afraid, it is not hardware issue - I have just installed
Knoppix 6 on this machine without any problems

It sounds a lot like bad RAM or maybe other hardware. I have seen
Windows

install happily on a machine that couldn't even get past the bogomips
calibration loop on linux. Replaced the CPU and the machine worked
fine.

Windows installed and ran (although crashed frequently, although the
owner of the machine didn't think that was unusual for some reason).

Software only segfaults if it has a major bug (in which case it
segfaults

consistently in most cases), or if the ram or cpu is corrupting memory
(which I suspect is what you are seeing).

Bug#601803: patch for wireless support

2011-06-08 Thread Robert Millan
tags 601803 patch
unblock 601803 by 629521
thanks

Here's a patch to enable wireless support.

As for libjail it's not really necessary; the Makefile layout
is confusing which lead Timo to think it was.

libjail is used for "ifconfig vnet" (see manpage) feature
which has nothing to do with wireless support.

Guillem, do you think either of the header kludges I'm
adding with this patch would be suitable for libbsd?

Bug#629594: clang calls linker with wrong args -> crt*.o searched in $pwd

2011-06-08 Thread Michael Wild
This is caused by a recent modification in libc6-dev (source eglibc),
presumably for multi-arch support. Attached patch teaches Clang to
search these directories. However, I suspect that it will break sooner
or later again when one does "cross-compiling" with -m64 or -m32 on i386
and amd64, respectively, because the "foreign" crt*.o files haven't been
moved yet. Don't know whether they ever will be moved, though, but logic
and some hunch tells me so...

Package: vpnc
Version: 0.5.3r449-2.1ubuntu1

VPNC doesn't offer support for draft-ietf-ipsec-nat-t-ike-03, which is
required by the Fritz!Box series of home routers. This patch adds
support for that feature so that VPNC can connect to these routers.
Also, the default timeout is lowered to 3600 seconds (also required by
Fritz!Boxes).

I've been working on that and forgot about it in the meantime. The
problem is that incremental sha1 checksum are wrong i.e. the previous
state is ignored by the hardware.
Kernel's auto-test droppped an error message which disappeared in later
a kernel so I assumed that it was fixed. This was not case but
"oldconfig" disabled the algorithm test.

Bug#540314: splashy: using vesafb for radeondrmfb cards hangs on module load

2011-06-08 Thread Daniel Dickinson
Package: splashy
Version: 0.3.13-5.1+b1
Followup-For: Bug #540314

On a system with a radeon HD card that uses radeon drm (and by default
radeondrmfb), splashy hangs during kernel module load or the subsequent console
font etc setting (not sure which as the screen blanks, and doesn't come back.
The screen blanks during the radeon module load, but the it's not clear that
the problem of it not coming back is from module load and not the soon after
console set).

If I remove /usr/share/initramfs-tools/modules.d/splashy, and instead modify
/etc/initramfs-tools/modules to contain radeon, radeondrmfb and it's
dependencies, and use an appropriate video= parameter, then the system boots
without hanging.

/etc/initramfs-tools/modules:
fbcon
radeondrmfb
radeon
ttm
drm_kms_helper
drm
i2c_algo_bit
power_supply
i2c_core

and add video=radeondrmfb:1920x1200 to /etc/default/grub (to the default linux
commandline)

Bug#549200: splashy: progress bar still doesn't work

2011-06-08 Thread Daniel Dickinson
Package: splashy
Version: 0.3.13-5.1+b1
Followup-For: Bug #549200

Using wheezy with insserv (the default boot system), the progress bar doesn't
work, and after gdm starts splashy eventually times out and switches back to
vt1 and reports that it timed out.

This kind of makes splashy too buggy to be distributable to casual users, and
is probably RC in terms of bugginess for what the package is supposed to do,
even though it doesn't make the machine unbootable. I'll leave that up to RM's
etc to decide that though.

Bug#629647: udev: keymap and rule to get microsoft natural keyboard "zoom" key to work

2011-06-08 Thread Nicolas Chauvat
Package: udev
Version: 164-3
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I edited /lib/udev/rules.d/95-keymap.rules to add:

ENV{ID_VENDOR}=="Microsoft", ENV{ID_MODEL_ID}=="00db", RUN+="keymap $name
microsoft-natural-keyboard-4000"

in the section keyboard_usbcheck, then created the keymap file:

$ cat /lib/udev/keymaps/microsoft-natural-keyboard-4000
0xc022d zoomin
0xc022e zoomout

then loaded the above with /lib/udev/keymap and that was enough to get
the "zoom" key working.

I suppose the above rule and keymap could be added to the udev package
for other users of this keyboard to benefit from the zoom key without
having to do the research themselves.

Bug#629648: lintian: missing-pre-dependency-on-multiarch-support FP for -dev packages

2011-06-08 Thread Simon McVittie
Package: lintian
Version: 2.5.0
Severity: normal

I've been converting libdbus/experimental to multiarch. It has nearly the
layout you'd expect, except that the shared library is in /lib:

libdbus-1-dev
/usr/lib/MULTIARCH/libdbus-1.a
/usr/lib/MULTIARCH/libdbus-1.so -> /lib/MULTIARCH/libdbus-1.so.3.6.1
libdbus-1-3
/lib/MULTIARCH/libdbus-1.so.3.6.1
/lib/MULTIARCH/libdbus-1.so.3 -> libdbus-1.so.3.6.1

It looks as though checks/files considers the .so symlink to be enough for
libdbus-1-dev to require a dependency on multiarch-support. However,
nothing should be using libdbus-1.so at runtime (the SONAME is libdbus-1.so.3),
so whether we've upgraded the dynamic linker before unpacking libdbus-1-dev
is irrelevant.

debhelper doesn't put multiarch-support in libdbus-1-dev's
${misc:Pre-Depends}, resulting in an auto-rejected Lintian error unless I
explicitly add multiarch-support to Pre-Depends.

Perhaps you could relax the check, so that only real files (not symlinks)
in a multiarch directory are considered to be a reason for needing
multiarch-support? (That would match what dh_makeshlibs does.)

Bug#629649: icedove: fails to display birthday field in address book contact summary

2011-06-08 Thread alex bodnaru
Package: icedove
Version: 3.1.10-1
Severity: normal

hello friends,

thanks for providing icedove. it's wonderful beyond small fixes that may
improve it further.

i'm reporting a quite queer bug:
my friend is born on march 15, 1968.
while there's no problem setting his birthday, and even viewing it in the
calendar using thunderbirthday, in the summary window under the list of
contacts, the birthday field under other shows 03/14/1968.
this didn't fail for days around this, or for years around this. any idea?

best regards,
alex

Bug#384059: loop-aes-utils: lower version of diverted file breaks ntfs-3g

2011-06-08 Thread Pierre Labastie
Package: loop-aes-utils
Version: 2.16.2-2
Followup-For: Bug #384059

The version of mount installed by loop-aes-utils (2.16.2) lags behind current
version
in package mount (2.17.2). In 2.16.2, the command line switch --no-canonicalize
is not recognized. This switch is used by the recently upgraded ntfs-3g, which
renders
ntfs unmountable. I had to uninstall loop-aes-utils.
Not sure many people want to have loop-aes and ntfs at the same time: I had
installed
loop-aes long ago to do some testing, but almost never used it. So it was not
hard
for me to remove that package. On the other hand, since the switch is
mentionned in the
man page, any other mount.something program might use it.
I fall in the "novice" category (with respect to debian), so I am sorry I cannot
propose a patch. Debian's packaging system is a big chunk to swallow!
Thanks to all the developper, it is a great system.

You can use the 'source-file' (or 'source') command to include other
files.

I'm not sure about automatically including files from a user directory,
though...

oh, indeed. must have overseen it when looking at the manpage, sorry.

however, unfortunately wildcards don't work (like 'source
/etc/tmux.conf.d/*').

not globally, but in the user context. the current hierarchy is

  '/etc/tmux.conf -> ~/.tmux.conf'

but it rather should be

  '/etc/tmux.conf -> /etc/tmux.conf.d/* -> ~/.tmux.conf ->
   ~/.tmux.conf.d'.

Bug#629594: clang calls linker with wrong args -> crt*.o searched in $pwd

I wrote it myself and forwarded it upstream:
http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=10100 (as is noted in
debian/patches/11-searchMultiArchLibDir.patch). As I remarked there, I'm
not entirely happy with it, because of the confusion of gcc-triplets
(/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu vs. /usr/lib/gcc/i486-linux-gnu/) it makes the
code potentially brittle. IMHO I would prefer it if the Clang developers
just ditched this whole magic guess-work code and made the header and
file search paths configurable with config files.

Bug#623532: packaging version 2.2.0

2011-06-08 Thread Barak A. Pearlmutter
For my own nefarious purposes (getting mldemos to build) I've updated
the packaging info on opencv for the latest upstream: opencv 2.2.0.
Patches available in git://github.com/barak/opencv.git

It was pretty straightforward, albeit somewhat tedious as upstream
fragmented the package into many little libraries.

Naturally I'm hoping that an upgraded version be uploaded; if my
patches help in that regard I would be most gratified.

Cheers,

--Barak.
