Simon, is there any ETA now for an upload of towitoko? I still have it
on my radar since the last translaiton update round finished and you
asked me to not NMU as you were about to upload

I didn't do much wrt this as others (mostly Raphaël G.) popped up with
more clues than me about the current status of the dash package.

Still, I don't see l10n stuff as blocking for other activities and the
package hasn't got any upload since September. I understand there are
difficult to solve issues wrt the "use bash as /bin/sh" release goal,
but IMHO that should not prevent *other* bugs to be fixed.

As a consequence, I'm repondering an l10n NMU for dash if that's the
only solution to get the l10n bugs fixed.

The problem is the auto rejection.

With the last set of changes I pushed to my repository it should be possible
to make an upload.

Bug#549171: Announce of the upcoming NMU for the cyphesis-cpp package

2010-05-10 Thread Christian PERRIER
Dear maintainer of cyphesis-cpp and Debian translators,

Some days ago, I sent a notice to the maintainer of the cyphesis-cpp Debian
package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf translation
update in the BTS.

I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload
for this package in order to fix this long-time pending localization
bug as well as all other pending translations.

The package maintainer agreed for the NMU or did not respond in four
days, so I will proceed with the NMU.

The full planned schedule is available at the end of this mail.

The package is currently translated to:
cs de es fr ja nl pt ru sv vi

Among these, the following translations are incomplete:

If you did any of the, currently incomplete, translations you will get
ANOTHER mail with the translation to update.

Other translators also have the opportunity to create new translations
for this package. Once completed, please send them as a bug report
against the cyphesis-cpp package so I can incorporate them in the build.

The deadline for receiving updates and new translations is Sunday, May 16,
2010. If you
are not in time you can always send your translation to the BTS.

The POT file is attached to this mail.

If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my NMU
and send him/her all updates I receive.

Otherwise the following will happen (or already has):

Wednesday, May 05, 2010 : send the first intent to NMU notice to
 the package maintainer.
Monday, May 10, 2010 : send this notice
Sunday, May 16, 2010 : (midnight) deadline for receiving translation
updates
Monday, May 17, 2010 : build the package and upload it to DELAYED/7-day
send the NMU patch to the BTS
Monday, May 24, 2010 : NMU uploaded to incoming

Thanks for your efforts and time.

This is a good fix, but I just wonder why this suddenly happens.
The cronjob has been in place for years, and I have never seen such

NMU is fine and there is no need to delay. I would rather prefer if you
would commit your changes to SVN (any DD has commit permission). Did
you also forwarded your patch to upstream? If not I'll do so after I'm
back from VAC (next week).

Many thanks for your patch

Bug#580955: xserver-xorg-video-radeon: Only one screen working on my dual-screen setup

2010-05-10 Thread Matthieu Baechler
Package: xserver-xorg-video-radeon
Version: 1:6.13.0-1
Severity: important
Tags: sid

For a long time now, radeon driver has been unable to use my second screen.
For xrandr, the screen is working properly, but it remains black.

For this reason, I use the radeonhd driver that, despite it's weaknesses,
manage to get my two screen to display my desktop.

But since KMS is enabled by the last linux kernel, radeonhd display strange
things on my screens, and is no longer usable.

It's also interesting to know that KMS has the same problem than the radeon
driver : as soon as it's loaded, only one screen displays console output.

Conclusion is : I can't use my dual-screen setup on the current sid, which is
pretty sad.

Sigh, all6500-2 claimed kdeedu and kdegames again and (obviously) failed to
build them. It also failed plasma-widget-yawp. So these need a give back and
all6500-2 blocking again... kdeedu is rather important package which blocks a
couple of other ones (kdeplasma-addons, digikam, kphotoalbum).

What is more, could you adjust meta-kde aging to 2 or 3 days so KDE starts
migrating when the rest of KDE ages normal 10 days?

Bug#580901: Confirmed

2010-05-10 Thread Jonathan Protzenko

I have been experiencing this too, on a 4-core Xeon with hyperthreading.

Basically, what happens is that after a suspend/resume cycle or a
hibernate/thaw cycle, a single process cannot span more than TWO cores.
Here's a nice picture:

http://jonathan.protzenko.free.fr/beforesuspend.png

This is a build (make -j 16) of Mozilla Thunderbird. The build is highly
parallel. The build dir was clean. All 8 logical cores are used.

http://jonathan.protzenko.free.fr/aftersuspend.png

Exact same build, after suspend. I did run make clean. Please note that
only two cores are 100% busy and the other five do strictly nothing. The
scheduler seems to be dead.

There is also a report here.
http://superuser.com/questions/136291/core-i7-on-linux-loses-its-multithreading-capability-after-suspend.

I can provide more information if needed.

You can use older GDB packages until that is resolved. Please tell if

Of course, but it was broken in unstable. I maybe should try it again
with multistrap.

unstable/sid, I started from an not up-to-date local mirror and ended
up upgrading from emdebian.org/grip repository.

At the beginning it was installed, then when fixing udev and some
broken dependencies I think it got removed. I do not think any
balloon3-config has been installed.

This is a i386 for an Acer Aspire One installation with 8GB flash.

Weird, I have installed in my system a start-stop-daemon (script file)
and a start-stop-daemon.REAL (binary file). I do not have access to
that computer right now, I'll have a look tonight.

I think multistrap was already fixed in sid so another round might be
worth to try. Or just try to rename start-stop-daemon.REAL by the
former.

I just tried, but I got "Permission denied".

Also, I checked upstream and patch isn't available in VCS, so it's worth

Bug#580956: libvirt-bin: restore of kvm virtual machine is broken

2010-05-10 Thread Andreas Bießmann
Package: libvirt-bin
Version: 0.8.1-1
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze

Restoring a saved state of any kvm virtualized vm renders the vm unusable.

This error might be in libvirt since 0.7.7 but i have not checked this!
It was at least not available in 0.7.6

The error could reliably reproduced by doing the following steps on a minimal
etch vm:
 - virsh -c qemu:///system save etch ./etch.stat
 - virsh -c qemu:///system restore ./etch.stat

After this the whole virtualized ram seems to be defective. The vm prompted
for login before save/restore. When hitting return after save/restore I get
partly messages from dmesg.

Can anyone else reproduce this issue?

regards,
Andreas Bießmann

Hi Tetralet,

The pot file for win32-loader got updated and rendered your translation update
out-of-date. Unfortunately I can't import it directly in the d-i svn.

The actual zh_TW.po can be found there:
http://svn.debian.org/viewsvn/d-i/trunk/win32-loader/l10n/po/zh_TW.po

Thanks in advance, cheers,

It seems that akonadi also has a bug here. The Debian KDE team is not able to
track and work on all the upstream bugs encountered. The best way to make sure
this bug is worked on is to report it to the KDE bug tracker and mark this bug
forwarded. Would you mind doing this? I'm more than willing to mark the bug
accordingly if you give me the KDE bug number.

Chromium in Debian is built aginst the system FFmpeg headers via
pkg-config. This means when Chromium is launched it will assume that
FFmpeg is present in the system library path.
In this way you can decide which codecs chromium will use, the free in
the main archive, or the patented in debian-multimedia repository.

Unfortunately at this moment libavutil50 is in the NEW queue[1]

Well, I can give them back, but I have no control over where they'll get
built. That will need action on the buildd side (yes, I noticed the
CC).

Done. From a quick look however, at least kde4libs is currently
RC-buggy so won't migrate yet anyway.

Bug#580688: python-moinmoin: multiple protocols missing from config/__init__.py

2010-05-10 Thread Tollef Fog Heen
]] Frank Lin PIAT

| I am not sure to understand what you want.
| It is certainly possible to change the behavior, if it is safe.
|
| If I were you, I would use curly brackets, like for all code samples:

I want it to be a URL in the generated text. AFAIK code samples are not
clickable URLs.

[...]

| > I find it quite disconcerning that the what upstream considers
| > configuration isn't shipped in /etc and marked as configuration files in
| > the package, though.
|
| You should blame us, the Debian package maintainer, not upstream:
| Upstream provide a tarball that is meant to be decompressed (typically
| in /srv/foo).

I don't see how that is relevant? If the allowed URL schemas is
supposed to be configurable, that bit of code should be in /etc or be
overridable from a file in /etc.

| Adding a protocol has important security implication:
| - disclosing credential
| - DoS attacks (locking accounts...)
| - cross site scripting attacks
| etc.
| The main problem is that wikis are usually public, so anyone can add
| arbitrary link.

Given you can't accidentially disclose credentials any more by having
something be a link than you can do so by putting it inline in a text on
a page, I don't really see that as a valid reason. As for DoS attacks,
why would they happen just because something is a link?

| > I believe this is a release critical bug, but I'd
| > appreciate your input on it before filing it.
|
| MoinMoin/config/__init__.py is not a configuration file, but the
| "source" code, that needs to be modified before compilation.
| (I understand that you are reluctant to do so, for security reason).

| So what is/are the protocol(s) that you want/need? then we'll have to
| figure out (your help is welcome):

In my specific case, git.

| - Does Debian or Windows or MacOS handle it? (with a popular tool)

Yes, using git.

| - Are those URL scheme documented

No idea.

| - Are there security issues

I don't see what kind of issues that should be, no.

Bug#580962: miro: fails to generate thumbnails

2010-05-10 Thread Johannes Rohr
Package: miro
Version: 3.0.1-2
Severity: normal

In miro 3.0 the generated thumbails for most feeds are just black squares. So
something does not work, however, I ѕee no console output indicating a specific
failure. With miro 2.5.4 it worked just fine.

If I can provide additional info, I will happily do so, if you tell me what you
need.

Bug#580963: cups: Slightly yellow background on many printouts

2010-05-10 Thread Adrian 'Dagurashibanipal' von Bidder
Package: cups
Version: 1.4.3-1
Severity: important

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Heyho!

(Important firstly of course because it's important to me :-) But also
because it happens with several printservers on several printers with
different applications.)

I have slightly yellow-ish backgrounds on printouts in various cases.

One example is: fields in OpenOffice.org documents (Oo.org 2.4 and 3.2;
the problem appeared after moving the cups server from an old etch
installation to current squeeze.)

This one happened at first for various printers and is now mostly
affecting HP printers (a Dell printer was "fixed" with a different PPD.)

Another example is printing some web pages (actually emails from a
Zimbra webmail) from Firefox. There, the Dell printer still has yellow
background, the HP doesn't.)

CUPS test page prints fine in all cases.

I'm a bit at a loss on how to approach this.

In the case of the HP printer: I've set up the printer to three
different installations with quite different set ups (but always up to
date squeeze) and always had this effect.

Any hints?

cheers

Bug#580964: postinst script fails if otrs2 is not configured via dbconfig

2010-05-10 Thread Laurent Bigonville
Package: otrs2
Version: 2.4.7-3
Severity: Serious

Hi,

It seems that post-installation script fails if I select "no" when it
asks if the database must be maintained by dbconfig.

The post-install script should exit cleanly even in this case.

2.4.7-3 has been installed unmodified on a lenny system.

Best regards

As pointed out on -devel, the doc seems indeed to exist: it can be found
in the README.Debian of the insserv package. I agree that this is no
excuse to not have it documented in /etc/init.d/README, so I've prepared
a patch that adds a section to that file pointing to
/usr/share/doc/insserv/README.Debian. You can find such a patch
attached.

I'm also raising the severity of this bug to important, as I believe it
is very important (pun) to have this properly documented in Squeeze, no
matter what the default for CONCURRENCY in /etc/default/rcS will end up
to be.

Can you please consider applying this patch?

Many thanks in advance,
Cheers.

+Dependency based boot sequencing
+
+
+By default, the execution order of init scripts in Debian is driven by
+their inter-dependencies. The supervision of the execution order is
+delegated to the "insserv" program, shipped by the "insserv" package.
+
+As an extra feature, dependency information allow you to run init.d

just thought Debian Science would be as well. I will suggest this to
simplify things for the future.

I'll care for dommiting the patch as well as forewarding it.

Thanks for the effort

Great. Thanks.
And when you're at it, I dare to have one more wish :)

I'm cross-building libbsd for an embedded system, and I need the
symlink to _not_ point to the host installed lib, but to the
cross-built one (inside the installed directory tree). I hacked the
Makefile to do it:

- ln -sf $(libdir)/$(LIB_SHARED) $(DESTDIR)$(usrlibdir)/$(LIB_SHARED_SO)
+ ln -sf ../..$(libdir)/$(LIB_SHARED)
$(DESTDIR)$(usrlibdir)/$(LIB_SHARED_SO)

but I'm convinced there's a better (although more intricate) way to do
it.

Cheers,

Bug#529427: New upstream release of php-net-smtp in sid

2010-05-10 Thread Guillaume Delacour
Hello,

A new release of php-net-smtp has been uploaded in sid a few hours ago.
Releases between 1.3.1 (actual testing) and 1.4.2 (sid) seems to add
more compliant support with STARTTLS.
A test mail with smtp on 587/tcp with STARTTLS only works fine.

Can you confirm that it fix the roundcube issue ?

Bug#580965: xchat-gnome: Uses /nickserv not /msg NickServ IDENTIFY

2010-05-10 Thread Michael Howe
Package: xchat-gnome
Version: 1:0.18-3
Severity: normal

Hi,

This is basically the same as
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=407926 (xchat uses
/nickserv rather than /msg nickserv identify). The work-around
suggested in that bug is to use the 'connect command' field - however,
this field isn't displayed in any of the xchat-gnome property dialogs
(as far as I can tell - apologies if I've just missed it!). If xchat is
installed, it's possible to set the connect command using _that_, and
then xchat-gnome will use it. However, since xchat is not required by
xchat-gnome, there's no guarantee users will have this.

Cheers,

Michael

(I haven't tried the sid version of the package as I don't have a
suitable system handy, but the debian changelog doesn't say this has
changed)

Bug#580966: listen: python-gnome2 should be recommended rather than suggested

2010-05-10 Thread Patrice Pillot
Package: listen
Version: 0.6.5-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

Magnatune and Jamendo online music shops support is advertised as Listen
features on the program website.
Listen requires the python gnomevfs module for this support to work.
Python gnomevfs module is provided by the python-gnome2 package.
Upgrading python-gnome2 from suggestion to recommendation would enable
the said online shops support by default as is probably expected by a
standard user.

Thanks in advance,

pp

Note that the haskell platform specifies version 2.2.3.0 for OpenGL, so
this is the „standard“ stable version that we want in Debian. Unless
there are strong reasons for it, we will not put more than one version
of a library in Debian.

Also, the 2.4.0.0 series of OpenGL splits out a lot of very minor
modules (ObjectName, StateVar) which causes quite some work for the
Debian maintainers, therefore I’m not very eager to tackle this version.

I assume you know that you can always use cabal-install to use the newer
version for your projects.

Greetings,
Joachim

Bug#580972: multipath-tools: unnecessary call to multipath in /etc/udev/rules.d/z60_multipath.rules

2010-05-10 Thread Apollon Oikonomopoulos
Package: multipath-tools
Version: 0.4.8-14+lenny2
Severity: normal

Hi,

/etc/udev/rules.d/z60_multipath.rules, as shipped with all debian packages up
to sid's version, contains the following rules:

RUN+="socket:/org/kernel/dm/multipath_event"
ACTION=="add|change", SUBSYSTEM=="block", RUN+="/sbin/multipath -v0 /dev/$name"

Multipathd itself has uevent support, which is what the first rule is used for.
However, the second rule is redundant and useful only in the case of block
devices showing up during boot, between /etc/init.d/multipath-tools-boot and
/etc/init.d/multipath-tools. Furthermore, it causes major system load whenever
a bulk of new LUNs are added to a running system. In our case, adding 10 LUNs
with 8 paths each causes the system load to rocket to 70-80 for 25s, while 80
multipath processes are racing to coallesce the multipaths. Disabling the
second rule causes the whole process to finish in less than 2 seconds while
multipathd itself handles the uevents generated by the kernel.

It should be noted that upstream do not include the second rule in their sample
rulefile[1].

Thus, the second rule should be removed or at least check whether multipathd is
running before executing /sbin/multipath.

One final note: multipathd uevent handling is broken with kernel 2.6.32, fixed
in a backwards compatible way upstream with commit
7fa7affc3d23dd9dc906804d22a61144bca9f9b9 (already present in squeeze/sid).
I know this is more of a wishlist item, but please backport the fix if possible
to make lenny's multipathd usable with newer kernels.

Thank you

Bug#580975: jack-audio-connection-kit sometimes FTBFS on some armel buildds with illegal instruction error

2010-05-10 Thread peter green

package: jack-audio-connection kit
x-debbugs-cc: debian-...@lists.debian.org
x-debbugs-cc: ar...@buildd.debian.org

note: i'm not sure what severity this deserves. If it's a really a bug
in the package it's probablly rc OTOH it could just be something screwy
with the buildd chroots and not really be a bug in the package at all. I
am therefore leaving the judgement call on severity up to the maintainer.

Attempts to build jack-audio-connection-kit on all6500-2 and muscat seem
to be failing with an illegal instruction error.

Other armel buildds and my qemu armel system seem to be building it
successfully (or for older versions running into 580618).

Can anyone reproduce this problem outside a buildd environment? Does
anyone have any ideas as to what may be the cause?

I think that it would be sufficient to match --name lua and --user prosody
in addition to --pidfile. It would be great if prosody could set its executable
name /proc//exec, or name in /proc//stat, but it doesn't (and I
don't know if it's possible with Lua scripts) so the best we could check is
name lua and user prosody. In this case one can't kill a process executed
by another user.

Cheers!

Bug#457075: Salomé packaging

2010-05-10 Thread Denis Barbier
Greetings,

I am not a Salome user, but here are some (hopefully not too stupid)
remarks about
   http://ftp-master.debian.org/new/salome_5.1.3-8.html

  * Binary packages are under the contrib/ section, AFAICT they can be
moved into main
  * libsalome and libsalome-dev ships a lot of shared libraries, some
of which with very generic names libe libHELLO.so or libLauncher.so.
This is a potential source of conflict, can all these libraries be
moved into a private directory like /usr/lib/salome/ ?
  * Libraries generated by swig have an underscore prepended, which
means that they are not opened by the dynamic loader and should be
moved into a private directory.
  * Ditto for binaries; and there is a concrete conflict, salome ships
/usr/bin/display which means that many people will not be able to
install this package since imagemagick is very popular. Can binaries
be moved into a private directory, like /usr/lib/salome/bin/ ? I
guess that runSalome and killSalome have to be put under /usr/bin/, I
can't tell for other binaries.
  * Binary packages seem to contain lots of tests
(/usr/bin/*[tT][eE][sS][tT]* or /usr/lib/lib*[tT][eE][sS][tT]*), can
they be dropped?
  * Description of the salome binary package has to be updated, AFAICT
there is no binary under /usr/bin/salome/
  * salome-common is quite large, are files under
/usr/share/salome/resources/med/ really needed? It looks like *.med
files are already provided by salome-examples.

I don't know yet when the next upload is going to be. I think it will
rather be sooner than later because I consider this important.

If it can't wait at all, you can rebuild with the attached patch against
-110 (it's a one-line fix).

Don't use radeonhd with KMS, radeonhd doesn't support KMS and only
bad thing can happen. Did you opened a bug about your issue ?
Best is to open a bug against KMS.

Bug#580975: [Fwd: jack-audio-connection-kit sometimes FTBFS on some armel buildds with illegal instruction error]

2010-05-10 Thread peter green

reassign 580975 jack-audio-connection kit
thanks

Sorry I screwed up a bit on submitting this bug, it seems the bts won't
accept multiple x-debbugs-cc lines and I also typo'd the package name

 Original Message
Subject: jack-audio-connection-kit sometimes FTBFS on some armel
buildds with illegal instruction error

package: jack-audio-connection kit
x-debbugs-cc: debian-...@lists.debian.org
x-debbugs-cc: ar...@buildd.debian.org

note: i'm not sure what severity this deserves.

Bug#579087: [prosody] Database directory, including plaintext password is world readable

Prosody used to create database files world readable because of bug in
liblua5.1-filesystem0 (see
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=562627
for details). Though now that bug is fixed, so all new files shouldn't be
world-readable. Also, /var/lib/prosody permissions are set to 750 in
postinstallation script, so I'm surprised that it ends up world-readable.

>
> Please make sure that database can only be read by the prosody user.

Could you check if liblua5.1-filesystem0 version is 1.4.2-3 (your reportbug
didn't mention its version), reinstall (or upgrade) prosody and check
if /var/lib/prosody's permissions are 750 and if creation of a new
user makes its DB file
/var/lob/prosody//accounts/username.dat with proper permissions?

> Depends (Version) | Installed
> ===-+-==

By the way, is there any chance that you have overridden /var/lib/prosody
permissions by copying old backup data or imported data from some other
server?

Cheers!

Comments/Problems:

When the installation detects the NIC it needs the firmware for it suggests I
insert an USB drive or floppy drive with the required file(s).
The required file is: bnx2-06-4.0.5.fw
I have an ext2 formatted usb stick with that file but when I insert it and tell
the installation to continue the led on the stick will light up a few times but
after that the installation will report a failure in finding the file.
Opening a second screen and doing the following:
  mkdir /mnt/usb
  mount -t ext2 /dev/sdc1 /mnt/usb
  ls /mnt/usb
will show the file present on the stick.

I have had the same problem a few months ago on a HP Proliant server but was
not a able to wait for further testing. Sollution then was an etch installation
first and then upgrade to lenny.
This machine is a test machine and if needed I can have it available for
severla months to do some testing if needed.

p.s. This report has been created on my machine at home NOT on the machine with
the problem as I have a problem installing Debian lenny ...

OK, I'll start working on it immediately after I fix the gnustep-base
FTBFS on powerpc and hurd-i386. I'll try to get everything ready
within this week.

Well, while I feel the pain too, we most definitely *cannot* upload
ABI-breaking releases to sid without the release team's approval, even
if we have to wait months for it. Uncoordinated uploads can disrupt
the whole release process, and we certainly do not want to do that.

Hi,

I'm afraid this package is part of the python transition, so I'm loath
to upload it and delay things another few days... However, I've built,
tested, and committed a fix to debian-science git. To build:

git clone
git://git.debian.org/git/debian-science/packages/petsc.git
DEB_BUILD_GNU_SYSTEM=linux-gnu git-buildpackage

Please let me know if it works for you.

[Upgraded severity because this breaks illuminator and probably deal.II,
but both of those have other RC bugs so I don't want this to slow down
transitions...]

Bug#580983: upower: lid switch close not anymore triggered, while lid switch open functioning

2010-05-10 Thread antoine
Package: upower
Version: 0.9.2-1
Severity: important

upgrading from 0.9.2-1 to 0.9.3-1 (upower libupower-glib1 libdevkit-power-
gobject1) prevents laptop lid switch trigger:
While configured to suspend on lid switch close, closing does not trigger
anymore (not any info in any log)
Triggering suspend (via menu or keyboard shortcut) still function well, and lid
switch opening does resume the laptop well

Downgrading to 0.9.2-1 made the lid switch close to trigger and function again

Bug#580984: dpkg: --root value not removed from filename inside chroot

2010-05-10 Thread Philipp Kern
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.15.7.1

Hi,

1.15.7.1 seems to have a regression with relation to the handling of
`--root'. It chroot()s into that directory nowadays and then fails to
call the right maintainer script due to the root value still being
prepended to the filename.

This causes the following (with `--root /mnt'):
cannot execute /mnt/var/lib/dpkg/info/nvidia-glx.prerm: No such file or
directory

strace confirms the `chroot("/mnt")' call. Am I using this parameter
wrongly or did something break?

Kind regards,
Philipp Kern

Bug#580985: edge switch position not updated on screen resize event

2010-05-10 Thread Wouter Verhelst
Package: icewm
Version: 1.3.7~pre2-1+b1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream

Hi,

I have EdgeSwitch enabled in my IceWM configuration, to be able to move
from one virtual desktop to another by moving the mouse to the edge of
the screen.

However, when the size of the screen is altered (for instance because I
connect an external monitor to my laptop and that one has a different
resolution), the position where this edge switching occurs is not
updated. As such, when I move my mouse to the right edge of the screen,
nothing happens; and when I move it to where the right edge of the
screen used to be (for instance at the 1280th horizontal pixel when the
screen has now been resized to 1920 pixels horizontally), the edge
switching does occur.

The only remedy to that seems to be to restart IceWM, which is
suboptimal.

Justification: renders package unusable

After installing nvidia-glx and restarting X, I found that I could not start
it, as X segfaults immediately after displaying the nVidia logo.
I am attaching my xorg.conf (which at the moment has the splash screen
disabled) and my xorg log.

Bug#580992: Patch to port to libept 1.0

2010-05-10 Thread Enrico Zini
Package: goplay
Version: 0.3-1+b2
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

Hello,

I am preparing a new version of libept after quite aggressively
simplifying its code.

I'm now testing its reverse dependencies to see how the libept changes
impact their code and functions.

I'm posting here, for reference, the patch needed to make goplay work
with the version of libept I just committed to the libept git repo.
There is no functionality loss in goplay, just the code got a bit
simpler and a bit more readable.

When I'm ready to upload libept 1.0, we can then followup with the
goplay update.

Ciao,

Enrico

Bug#580984: dpkg: --root value not removed from filename inside chroot

The chroot call is there since long, however when the maintainer script is
called, the /mnt part (instdir) should be stripped (by preexecscript) and
for some reason it's not the case here.

Can you submit a log generated with dpkg -D2 ?

As a reference point, 1.15.5.6 seems to be ok according to you (info
grabbed on IRC).

Problematic commits could be 15daa22fa94d19cc059d2755e5164db1a3a62791,
a9f8f235b90a586d99a9597fa5e7f2880ec91a98 or
ab9482eb45e27a0b0c058a2662b28b7d3642173d. They all deal with the way
"admindir" is used internally.

I think this feature deserves a non-regression test given how seldom it's
used in daily usages by the developers.

Cheers,

Bug#580993: drizzle-server: does not create required directory /var/log/drizzle on install

2010-05-10 Thread Florian Haas
Package: drizzle-server
Version: 2010.03.1347-1
Severity: important

The init script packaged with drizzle-server expects the directory
/var/log/drizzle to exist and be owned by drizzle:drizzle. That
directory isn't created on package install, making it impossible to
immediately start the drizzle server using the packaged init script.

Suggest to create and chown that directory during install.
