Please follow the guidelines for new lists at

http://www.debian.org/MailingLists/HOWTO_start_list

After filing the request, it would be very much appreciated if several
other people interested in the new list would send a mail to the bug,
in order to record their interest.

Malayalam should be of strategic interest to Debian family, as it happens to be
the mothertongue in Kerala - home to around 40 million malayalees. Kerala is
the only state in India which has an exclusive government policy that promotes
only Free Software in education and governance. It would be better if an
exclusive mailing list is allotted.

Bug#403407: rubygems: gems bin not added to PATH

Your request is reasonable. However, there is no standard way in Debian to add
PATH into /etc/profile by other packages than `base-files' which contains that
file. Instead, Users or administrators have to add /var/lib/gems/X.Y/bin to PATH
as I write in /usr/share/doc/libgems-ruby1.8/README.Debian

Executables that come from gems can not be installed /usr/bin because gems are
not Debian packages and may conflict with the Debian packages.

Thanks,
Daigo

Bug#426196: Disregarding "xset s off" command

2007-05-27 Thread Jamie Zawinski
Intentional behavior, not a bug. When xscreensaver is in use,
"xscreensaver-demo" is the UI for setting blanking behavior, not
"xset". There is no way to make both UIs co-exist sensibly, so
xscreensaver wins.

xfdiff is a graphic interface to the GNU diff and patch commands.
With this utility, it is possible to view differences side by side

a patch-file would imply, without applying the patch.
You can also apply patches to the hard disk or create patch files for
 differences between files or directories.

Bug#426210: linux-2.6: could ams module be enabled on apple platforms like powerbooks?

2007-05-27 Thread Yves-Alexis Perez
Package: linux-2.6
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

ams is the Apple Motion Sensor present in various powerbooks (and maybe
macbooks pro). Values from the sensor can be read from linux using the
"ams" module now present upstream, but it's not compiled in on Debian
kernels:
# CONFIG_SENSORS_AMS is not set

Could this module be enabled on Debian kernel for platforms that support
it?

Thanks and regards,

Your request is ideal. However, we, Debian developers, have no good solution
yet. To support integration of rubygems and dpkg for a long time, more
consideration (not just patch rubygems.rb) is required.

Thanks,

Bug#375553: xserver-xorg: Server freezes switching to console and back

2007-05-27 Thread Brice Goglin
Hi Nicola,

Thanks a lot for building and testing the latest release of the sis
driver. I found a bug report upstream about problems when switching to
console and back to X, see [1]. It's not a freeze like your problem, but
at least it confirms that the driver has problem in this area. We'll see
what happen (and hope the driver will get good maintenance in the future).

Bug#426211: slim should remember previous session (or have a default session)

When using slim and loging in without selecting a session, slim fails
miserably, only restarting itself or something like that. slim should
remember the last session choosed by user, or at least provide a default
session (configurable).

First step is to figure out which kdeinit processes that still think they are
running - and then keeping $HOME open.

If you could modify the startkde script (take a backup copy first)
and just before the final "echo 'startkde: done'" line, add some lines to
generate some output. You need lsof (from the lsof package).

lsof > /tmp/openfiles #this is unsecure if it is a multiuser box
ps x > /tmp/processes #this is also unsecure if it is a multi user box

that way, we can see what processes exactly that keeps it open.

if you could try it a couple of times to make sure it is the same processes,
it would be really nice.

Bug#426212: slim should restart itself if X is killed

Package: slim

When I'm loging out from my session (Xfce, openbox or anything I guess),
slim is correctly restarted so I can login easily. But if I shutdown X
using Ctrl+Alt+Backspace, slim doesn't restart and I'm back to console.

It'd be nice if slim could be restarted at this point, like gdm does.

Following up on this bug, could you try powertop (available in debian
unstable for i386) and see if xfce4-panel is waking up too much?
Currently clock plugins wake up every second even if seconds aren't
displayed, this should be "fixed" in current svn, for next releases.

Bug#426218: fvwm: FvwmConsole should match "FvwmConsole" for Style and conditional commands

2007-05-27 Thread Friedrich Delgado Friedrichs
Package: fvwm
Version: 1:2.5.21-1
Severity: normal

FvwmConsole manpage tells me: "Debian specific: hardcoded xterm is
changed to x-terminal-emulator. To be policy compliant -name option is
removed from default options and -title is changed to -T."

This change however results in FvwmConsole not matching Style settings
or conditional commands that refer to "FvwmConsole". Class, resource
or title should contain the string "FvwmConsole" to fix that problem.

Bug#426221: uim vs. Firefox

2007-05-27 Thread Thomas Schwinge
Package: uim
Severity: important

Hello!

There have been a number of bug reports about Firefox crashing (or
better: about it freezing) the whole X session if uim / uim-xim packages
have been installed and have been actived by issueing ``sudo im-switch -s
uim'' or similar.

The conclusion from the reports (,
, ) was to
have `GTK_IM_MODULE' and `QT_IM_MODULE' set to `uim' instead of `xim'.

I just confirmed that this _does_ indeed fix the unbearable situation for
Firefox.

But now I wonder why this still hasn't been changed in Debian then?
`/etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/uim' still makes those environment variables
contain `xim'.

Regards,
 Thomas

Bug#426222: fvwm: FvwmProxy Group AutoInclude does not work

2007-05-27 Thread Friedrich Delgado Friedrichs
Package: fvwm
Version: 1:2.5.21-1
Severity: normal

Automatic grouping of windows with FvwmProxy (a rather new feature I
wanted to try) does not work. Manual grouping works, though.

You can try:

killall FvwmProxy

Then paste into FvwmConsole:

DestroyModuleConfig FvwmProxy: *
*FvwmProxy: Width 250
*FvwmProxy: Height 140
*FvwmProxy: ShowMiniIcons true
*FvwmProxy: EnterSelect true
*FvwmProxy: ProxyMove true
*FvwmProxy: ProxyIconified true
*FvwmProxy: Action Click2 Move
*FvwmProxy: Action ModifierRelease 4M SendToModule FvwmProxy Hide

*FvwmProxy: Group "Gimp" Include "Gimp"
*FvwmProxy: Group "Gimp" AutoInclude
Module FvwmProxy

Windows matching "Gimp" will not be grouped automatically (they don't
move/iconify in unison and the edges are not glued together as they do
when they are grouped manually by selecting a coloured group).

Kind regards
Friedel

Bug#426224: Please update shutdown to support libata drivers in newer kernels

2007-05-27 Thread Simon Vallet
Package: sysvinit
Version: 2.86.ds1-38

Using current (2.6.22) kernels in Debian leads to an error when
shutting down the machine if some disks are managed by libata drivers:

DISK MIGHT NOT BE SPUN DOWN PROPERLY. UPDATE SHUTDOWN UTILITY.

The details are explained there: http://linux-ata.org/shutdown.html

I think shutdown should be updated to fix this.

The machine is a Dell Latitude C610 running testing and a git (2.6.22-rc2)
kernel, using ata_piix drivers from libata to access the ICH-3 controller.

it says:

  mail [-eIinv] [-a header] [-b bcc-addr] [-c cc-addr] [-s subject] to-addr

and -f is a common sendmail option to change the envelope sender.

Bug#425625: CVE-2007-2754: integer overflow and heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in freetype

I guess we should fix this, it's indirectly remotely exploitable at least
by providing someone a malformed TTF font file. As libfreetype is an important
infrastructure library there might also be unforeseen indirect attack
vectors, like embedding TTFs in other document types, etc.

Steve Kemp wanted to work on a DSA, so you should probably check back
with him before preparing an upload.

Cheers,

This has been fixed upstream in

The respective code in the docs is generated automatically from the
comments in lib/gnutls_priority.c.

The change noted above also re-enable TLS1.0 by default, so this part
of your bug-report is going to fix itself too.

Thanks for taking the time to test the packages uploaded to
experimental.

Following up on this bug, could you try powertop (available in debian
unstable for i386) and see if xfce4-panel is waking up too much?
Currently clock plugins wake up every second even if seconds aren't
displayed, this should be "fixed" in current svn, for next releases.

Regards,

Yves-Alexis

It might also be an idea to use sysprofile (m-a a-i sysprof-module &&
modprobe sysprof-module && apt-get install sysprof && sysprof) to try
to profile what is causing the cpu usage of xfce4-panel.

Bug#426164: [Pkg-xfce-devel] Bug#426164: xfce4: link to editor in bottom panel (very) broken

Yves-Alexis Perez wrote:

Hmh, I don't really know why this happens, but here is the explanation:
The editor shortcut runs sensible-editor, not in a Terminal. If your
sensible-editor is vim, it's run from xfce4-panel context, which seems
to be the vt where you started everything. I don't really know how can
this happen, but it's clearly not a good idea.

I don't really see a way to check if sensible-editor should be run in a
terminal or not, so I fail to see how we could fix this. In your case,
checking the "Run in terminal" box in launcher properties should fix it.
Could you please test?

Regards,

By checking "run in terminal" vim starts correctly in a terminal.

Anyway my sensible-browser is links, is launched from the tool-bar with
'exo-open --launch WebBrowser', and it starts in a teminal without the
box checked, why the sensible-editor cannot start in similar way?

Bug#426230: potrace: Wrong depths for XFig objects

2007-05-27 Thread Rafael Laboissiere
Package: potrace
Version: 1.7-1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream patch

The xfig backend does not set correctly the depths of the objects, what
makes some paths go to the background during editing. This problem was
discussed in a thread in the Patch Tracker of the potrace project at
SourceForge [1]. The upstream author published a patch for fixing the
problem [2] and when I asked him whether a new version will be released
soon, he answered:

"I don't have any releases planned for the very near future. Potrace is
pretty stable at the moment. The XFig backend is not very heavily used
from what I can tell; you might be the first person who has ever asked
about it. So for now, this change will be released only as a patch."

I am hereby asking the Debian maintainer to apply the said path to the
Debian package. Note that it applies correctly to the 1.7 version (at least
the relevant part for src/backend_xfig.c), although it would be good if one
could take the opportunity and upgrade the package to the newest 1.8 version
(cf Bug #425543)

For users reading this bug report: I prepared a 1.8-0.1 version of the
package containing the patch proposed here and put it at a private
apt-getable repository [3].

Bug#426231: ITP: debomatic -- automatic build machine for Debian source packages

2007-05-27 Thread Luca Falavigna
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: debomatic
* Version : 0.2.1
* Upstream Author : Luca Falavigna <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://debomatic.linuxdc.it
* License : GPL
* Programming Lang: Python
* Description : Automatic build machine for Debian source packages

Deb-o-Matic is a simple, automatic build machine for Debian source
packages based on pbuilder and debootstrap, written in Python. It is
compatible with every Debian-based distribution and it allows to easily
build source packages.

It has some useful features like multiple pbuilders management,
automatic update of chroot environments and lintian/linda support to
report packaging errors. It is useful to developers who want to test
their packages without the need to run pbuilder most of the time.

I supplied reports of untainted 2.6.18-4-amd64 failing, earlier in this
bug report. I will test untainted 2.6.21-1-amd64 too.

It seems from the 2.6.18 testing that the tainting is not relevant.
Hence I supplied a report against 2.6.21 with the same taint.
Nonetheless I will do further tests.

Thanks for being quite unhelpful.

Bug#426232: net-snmp: [debconf_rewrite] Debconf templates review

2007-05-27 Thread Christian Perrier
Package: net-snmp
Version: N/A
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Dear Debian maintainer,

On Wednesday, May 09, 2007, I notified you of the beginning of a review process
concerning debconf templates for net-snmp.

The debian-l10n-english contributors have now reviewed these templates,
and the proposed changes are attached to this bug report.

Please review the suggested changes are suggested, and if you have any
objections, let me know in the next 3 days.

Please try to avoid uploading net-snmp with these changes right now.

The second phase of this process will begin on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, when I
will
coordinate updates to translations of debconf templates.

The existing translators will be notified of the changes: they will
receive an updated PO file for their language.

Simultaneously, a general call for new translations will be sent to
the debian-i18n mailing list.

Both these calls for translations will request updates to be sent as
individual bug reports. That will probably trigger a lot of bug
reports against your package, but these should be easier to deal with.

The call for translation updates and new translations will run until
Monday, June 11, 2007. Please avoid uploading a package with fixed or changed
debconf templates and/or translation updates in the meantime. Of
course, other changes are safe.

On Tuesday, June 12, 2007, I will contact you again and will send a final patch
summarizing all the updates (changes to debconf templates,
updates to debconf translations and new debconf translations).

Again, thanks for your attention and cooperation.

Bug#422340: webcalendar: General update after the debconf review process

2007-05-27 Thread Christian Perrier
Dear Debian maintainer,

On Saturday, April 21, 2007, I sent you a notification about the beginning of a
review
action on debconf templates for webcalendar.

Then, I sent you a bug report with rewritten templates and annoucing
the beginning of the second phase of this action: call for translation
updates.

Translators have been working hard and here is now the result of their efforts.

Please consider using it EVEN if you committed files to your
development tree as long as they were reported.

The attached tarball contains:

- debian/changelog with the list of changes
- debian/control with rewrites of packages' descriptions
- debian/ with all the rewritten templates file(s)
- debian/po/*.po with all PO files (existing ones and new ones)

As said, please use *at least* the PO files as provided here,
preferrably over those sent by translators in their bug reports. All
of them have been checked and reformatted. In some cases, formatting
errors have been corrected.

The patch-nopo file contains a patch for the templates and control file(s).

Please note that this patch applies to the templates and control
file(s) of your package as of Saturday, April 21, 2007. If your package was
updated
in the meantime, I may have updated my reference copybut I also
may have missed that. This is indeed why I suggested you do not
modified such files while the review process was running,
remember..:-)

It is now safe to upload a new package version with these changes.

Please notify me of your intents with regards to this.

There is of course no hurry to update your package but feel free to
contact me in case you would need sponsoring or any other action to
fix this.

Bug#424038: [pkg-boost-devel] problem for libraries names between ax_boost.m4 and debian packages

of course fix the ax_boost*.m4 script :)

please have a look at [0]. yes, it is difficult to believe, but currently
there is no portable way to guess boost library names.

when they started to make such crazy names i provided commodity links
for mortal people, these are the real "debian library names", but they
are not portable across linux distributions. i even provided "default"
links to multi-thread libraries, but it was an arbitrary choice i now
regret to have done.

until few days ago i thought bjam/boost-build could be used to portably
link boost libraries but i was wrong. these names are built in Jamfile.v2
at the root of boost source tree and there is no way to make boost-build
tell you which are they once you are out of the boost source tree.

cheers

Bug#426238: ntp: kernel time sync error 0001

2007-05-27 Thread Mario Frasca
Package: ntp
Version: 1:4.2.4p0+dfsg-1
Severity: important

since quite some time, ntp does not syncronize the internal clock.
as far as I can see from the logs, it computes the time reset but then
does not manage to completely sync the time.

this is an example of such a log:
May 27 13:29:16 localhost ntpd[3221]: time reset -511.395231 s
May 27 13:29:16 localhost ntpd[3221]: kernel time sync error 0001

at 14:38 on the same day, the needed time reset is around -140s.

as a workaround, I had a cronjob stopping the deamon and restarting it
once every day. this would syncronize the clock at once and limit the
time drift to a few seconds per day. I disabled this because I think
it should just work, don't you agree?

I just realized that there is a rather huge side-effect. octave-headers
triggers the installation of quite a lot of -dev packages (fftw-dev,
gfortran, ...).

I'm still in favor of merging the packages, though.

Bug#426239: memtest86+: Missing build dependency on gcc-multilib.

2007-05-27 Thread Kurt Roeckx
Package: memtest86+
Version: 1.70-2
Severity: serious

Hi,

Your package is failing to build on amd64 with the following error:
gcc -c -m32 -march=i486 -fPIC -Wall -g -O2 -fno-strict-aliasing reloc.c
In file included from /usr/include/features.h:346,
 from /usr/include/string.h:26,
 from reloc.c:4:
/usr/include/gnu/stubs.h:7:27: error: gnu/stubs-32.h: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [reloc.o] Error 1

Atleast on amd64 you need to build depend on gcc-multilib. This will
currently pull in the following packages:
gcc-4.1-multilib lib32gcc1 libc6-dev-i386 libc6-i386.

It also works with just libc6-dev-i386, so you might want to use that
instead of gcc-multilib.

Thanks for your report.

Indeed there is problem with your interfaces file generated by
pppoeconf because there is two lines with "iface eth1 inet manual".
pppoeconf doesn't detect yout original line with spaces before
"iface". You should erase and try again.

A new version without this bug will be uploaded soon.

For your last question, a correct interfaces file looks like :

8<
iface dsl-provider inet ppp
pre-up /sbin/ifconfig eth1 up # line maintained by pppoeconf
provider dsl-provider

auto eth1
iface eth1 inet manual
8<

If your connection is not established after reboot with
this interfaces file, please report a bug for ppp package
(and please Cc: me).

2007-05-27 Thread Mario Frasca
I read that ntp can have problems when the IP of the machine changes.
this box is on a local network, with DHCP managed by a belkin switch.
from time to time the switch needs a reset, after which it's not
guaranteed that the machines get the same addresses. my global address
(the outside address of the belkin switch) does not change.

I just did a apt-get remove --purge ntp and then apt-get install ntp...

let's see if the log messages keep appearing.

Bug#426242: xconq cannot write scores file.

2007-05-27 Thread Brandon
Package: xconq
Version: 7.4.1-4

Hello. When exiting xconq, you get a message: "Warning: scores.xcq
cannot be opened for writing, will not record score." The reason for
this is that the games group does not have permission to write to
the /var/games/xconq directory. If possible, your install script should
write an empty file, scores.xcq, in /var/games/xconq/scores/. This file
should have owner root:games, and permissions 775. If that is not
enough, you should give games group write permissions to
the /var/games/xconq/scores/ directory, and/or to /var/games/xconq/.

Bug#426243: vim-gui-common: Can't handle unicode filename when open through right-click menu

2007-05-27 Thread Ming Hua
Package: vim-gui-common
Version: 1:7.1-000+1
Severity: normal

Dear vim maintainers,

It seems when opening a file with the right-click mouse menu, choosing
"Open with 'GVim Text Editor'", gvim can't handle a filename with
non-ascii unicode characters in it. The launched gvim is showing the
filename as some strange characters that look like double-encoded UTF-8
string (I use a UTF-8 locale) and therefore think it's a new file.

I encountered this problem with Chinese file names, but I've tested with
"é.txt" and can reproduce it. Using "gvim " in X terminal or
":e " inside already launched gvim can handle these unicode
names without problem.

I think the right click menu is provided by the "Exec=gvim -f %U"
command in /usr/share/applications/gvim.desktop, so I am filing this bug
against vim-gui-common.

Thanks,
Ming

Bug#426244: flow-tools: flow-send fails when compiled by gcc4

2007-05-27 Thread Iwan A. Vasilyev
Package: flow-tools
Version: 1:0.68-10

flow-send utility from flow-tools package included in Etch release,
and also from latest (0.68-11) version rebuilt on Etch, fails completely.
To reproduce the problem:

~# flow-receive 0/127.0.0.1/29431 >/dev/null 2>&1 &
~# flow-gen -V5 | flow-send 0/127.0.0.1/29431

It prints many errors like

flow-send: send(): Message too long

running strace on it gives following log:

send(4, "", 3220980752, 0) = -1 EMSGSIZE (Message too long)
write(2, "flow-send: send(): Message too long\n", 36) = 36
nanosleep({0, 6000}, NULL)

with random numbers in place of 'size' argument of send(), and always empty
data.

Recompiling package with gcc-3.4 from Etch solves the problem.

Bug#398937: ITP: freevo -- open-source home theatre PC platform

hi

what about this packaging?

I use freevo (I set up a PVR box some years ago), and I also developed
some patches for it ; so I would be interested in (co)mantaining

recently I also managed to run my PVR so that the freevo program does
not run as root (and yet everything works fine - it also shuts down and
wakes up when needed)

I don't think that's the problem. I think you would get different kind
of error messages in that case. This is also a problem that should be
fixed in the version you're using. It scans the interfaces every 5
minutes for changes.

Maybe you should try something as:
ntpdc -c "kerninfo"

I can confirm this, but there is another way to have it saved: if you
type the number then "enter", the entry is saved.

Anyway, it'd be nice to have it saved without any other actions than
typing the number.

I'll forward it upstream.

Could you retry using xfce4-battery-plugin 0.5.0 (unstable) and reports
back? I can't reproduce it using this version, so maybe it has been

This is this code:
if (ntp_adjtime(&ntv) == TIME_ERROR) {
NLOG(NLOG_SYNCEVENT | NLOG_SYSEVENT)
msyslog(LOG_NOTICE,
"kernel time sync error %04x", ntv.status);

ntp_adjtime() is a wrapper around adjtimex(). So it returned TIME_ERROR
(TIME_BAD) saying that the clock isn't synchronised.

> at 14:38 on the same day, the needed time reset is around -140s.

This looks like a rather big offset for such a short time. This seems
to be an error in the order of 30 000 ppm, which is a rather large
number. I think the kernel has a limit of 500 ppm, which is around 1.8
seconds per hour.

Did you always have this problem, or did this happen since a kernel
upgrade? Most of the times I see people complain with such an error,
it's a kernel problem.

Please can you explain me, what do you mean with
"connect to the daemon from a shell"
But I think, that will be working, because mail sent and transmit
after booting works too.
The error message in /var/log/exim4/paniclog only appears after
system start, when the first mails should be fetched by fetchmail.
The appropriate messages in /var/log/exim4/mainlog are:

The rejected mails will be received at the next trial.
And after this, it seems to be worked correct.

Bug#424981: Bug#424982: libjcalendar-java: please move package from contrib to main

2007-05-27 Thread Eric Lavarde

Hello Torsten,

I admit that I'm not very reactive, but before you do your NMU, have you
checked that Jcalendar 1.3.2 is backwards compatible with version 1.2?

Thanks, Eric

Hi,

I am attaching a full diff for 1.3.2-0.1 (and the interdiff) that
fixes both bugs. I am planning a NMU if nothing happens (again).

Cheers,
Torsten

Bug#424982: libjcalendar-java: please move package from contrib to main

2007-05-27 Thread Eric Lavarde

Hi,

can you please tell me why bringing jcalendar to main is "important",
there is no package depending on it (beside FreeMind, which has other
issues)?

Thanks, Eric

Bug#426179: nss-updatedb: silently skips large groups: do .. while loop logic error

I've updated your patch to this:

@@ -168,13 +168,16 @@
 tryagain:
do {
status = vtable->getent((void *)&result, buffer, buflen, &errnop);
+   printf("gid_t: %d starting\n", result.gr.gr_gid);

break;
}
+   printf("gid_t: %d done\n", result.gr.gr_gid);
status = callback(handle, (void *)&result, private);
} while (status == NSS_STATUS_SUCCESS);

if (status == NSS_STATUS_TRYAGAIN) {
+   printf("Enlarging buffer from %d to %d\n", buflen, buflen*2);
buflen *= 2;
buffer = realloc(buffer, buflen);
if (buffer == NULL) {

And this is the output:

gid_t: 10110 starting
gid_t: 10110 done
gid_t: 10800 starting
Enlarging buffer from 496 to 992
gid_t: 11197 starting
gid_t: 11197 done

Note that gid 10800 (the giant group) never shows done.

I saw that, and what it says to me is that the only way to do this is to
rewind to the top of the loop and try again with a larger buffer.
Currently, the buffer is being resized for all subsequent getent calls,
but not for the failed one.

I don't think so, based on the above output.

Take care,

Bug#426238: [pkg-ntp-maintainers] Bug#426238: ntp: kernel time sync error 0001

I really can't remember... I was away during more than a month, and
could not access my machine until april 19, more or less... then upgraded
everything and so also the kernel, I suppose.

is this the same problem as
https://lists.ntp.isc.org/pipermail/bugs/2007-February/005433.html
?

I was a bit late checking, but it seems that the bug would be solved if
sid went from 2.6.18 to 2.6.20/21...

ciao,
thanks,
Mario

Bug#426250: nvidia-glx-legacy-96xx: should pacify /etc/init.d/nvidia-glx

2007-05-27 Thread Jarek Kamiński
Package: nvidia-glx-legacy-96xx
Version: 1.0.9631-3
Severity: important

After upgrade from nvidia-glx (remove without purge) system breaks after
each reboot. X segfaults and screen becomes black, so I can log in only
remotely. It is caused by left /etc/init.d/nvidia-glx script.
Reinstalling nvidia-glx-legacy-96xx solves problem until next reboot. As
a workaround I've added exit 0 at the beginning of
/etc/init.d/nvidia-glx and system boots fine.

I strongly believe, that the severity should be critical (with
justification "breaks the whole system"), but I'm setting it to
important, as I was upgrading from pre-etch nvidia-glx. I'm not sure, if
upgrade from 1.0.8776-4 would also break, but I think so.

Thanks for Your work for Debian ;-)
