"hung" as in "it sits there forever"? oooh so sad... this is not very easy
to debug then.

Hummm... things to check/try out popping out of my head:
- /dev/shm usage (use df -h), if it goes low (very low) increase it
- set debug=true, put an "exit 1" before debootstrap then run debootstrap
manually from the provided shell (well... probably not that useful), be
careful, no Ctrl-C there :)
- start uml_mconsole and send a sysrq+t and see who is hung and where
- add "set -x" to all rootstrap modules :)
- strace deboostrap in the "debian" module

eh, I don't think it'll change that much, but let's see.

I tried it again myself, and it does appear to be fixed in the latest
version. It was still present in version 15.5+cvs20050816-2.

BTW, I thought the unreproducible tag would only apply if the maintainer
couldn't reproduce the bug with the version that it was reported against,
not just if the bug is eventually fixed in a later version.

Bug#386079: ITP: libsnmp-multi-perl -- Perform SNMP operations on multiple hosts simultaneously

2006-09-05 Thread Arne Goetje
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Arne Goetje <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: libsnmp-multi-perl
  Version : 2.1-1
Upstream Author : Karl ("Terminator rAT") Schilke <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/~tpg/SNMP-Multi-2.1/Multi.pm
* License : GPL / Artistic (same as Perl itself)
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Perform SNMP operations on multiple hosts simultaneously

The SNMP::Multi package provides a mechanism to perform SNMP operations
on several hosts simultaneously. SNMP::Multi builds on G. Marzot's
SNMP
Perl interface to the UC-Davis SNMP libraries, using asynchronous SNMP
operations to send queries/sets to multiple hosts simultaneously.
..
Results from all hosts are compiled into a single object, which
offers
methods to access the data in aggregate, or broken down by host or
the
individual request.
..
SNMP::Multi supports SNMP GET, SET, GETNEXT, GETBULK and
BULKWALK requests.
It also performs PDU packing in order to improve network
efficiency, when
packing is possible.
..
This description was automagically extracted from the
module by dh-make-perl.

The package is available at mentors.debian.net.

The file list on packages.debian.org includes the configuration files
for this version on powerpc:

http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_contents.pl?searchmode=filelist&word=dovecot-common&version=testing&arch=powerpc

Anyway, we already have 1.0.rc7-1 in unstable, and it will migrate to
testing in four-five days. Could you please check if it solves the
problem?

I was wondering about this too, when I applied the patch - the second
part just moves the last two lines into this #if 0 block (ie. removes
them, as the comment says), which is there for "commentary purposes", I
guess. So noone does the same mistake again :)

Bug#382505: We'd need to update the upstream docs also

2006-09-05 Thread Michael(tm) Smith
If you were to change the Debian docbook-xsl package such that it
uses /etc/papersize as a default papersize instead of using
"letter", as the upstream docs say, then you run the risk of a
users discovering that every time they generate FO output, they
are getting a different default thatn what the upstream docs say
they should be getting, and them perhaps having no idea why that
is happening. I suppose that if you implemented this, we could
update the upstream docs to say that the default is "letter"
except on Debian, where it's whatever is specified in
/etc/papersize. But we've never put anything system-specific into
the upstream docs before, and IMHO, this wouldn't really merit a
setting a precedent for doing that.

If the file is below /usr/local/texmf, and found at all (which you can
test with the command "kpsewhere xkeyval.sty"), then it should
definitely take precedence over files in /usr/share/texmf-tetex. What
is the output of

kpsewhich --var-value='TEXMF'
kpsewhich --progname=xetex --var-value='TEXMF'

It's not the filename which causes problems here, I think, but I may
be wrong.

Can you diff the two files ? Did you just upgrade to the latest xsane
version ? (if it's the case, it's possible that the rc file is
incompatible between the two versions)

Bug#350740: more fixes

2006-09-05 Thread Hendrik-Jan Heins

I'm currently refining the build.

At the moment the only existing lintian errors are shared lib errors
(-fPIC ?). Not sure what to do about it.

I read Mike's story about xulrunner. I'm not sure whether that's such
a good idea, as the whole suite is tied into this package. As long as
the xulrunner version is sort of "parallel" to the stable Seamonkey
branch, I guess there's no problem, but what happens when the
xulrunner libs get developed in an incompatible way?

There are some versioning issues (still): libnspr-dev and libnss-dev
are now called libnspr4-dev and libnss3-dev (more in line with their
parent packages).
But I need to set the libnspr and libnss packages to a version higher
than the current mozilla-suite packages. Not sure how to apply
binary-versioning here.

The installer now installs mostly correct, copies the existing
/etc/mozilla/* to /etc/seamonkey; ldconfig works as it should.

Ah yes, and current versions just work. ;-)

If anyone can shed some light on the mentioned problems, please do so!

Hendrik-Jan

Looks like a bug with your X11 driver. Here are some workarounds you can
try:
  * use EXA acceleration instead of XAA. See
http://wiki.x.org/wiki/ExaStatus for hints on how to do it.
  * Disable the UseFBDev option if it is enabled.

Please add all relevant information (lspci output, /etc/X11/xorg.conf
and /var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the bug.

Bug#291040: catdvi: Missing dependencies

2006-09-05 Thread Frank Küster
found 291040 0.14-7
severity 291040 serious
tags 291040 patch
submitter 291040 !
thanks

(Cc to the other bug where we discovered this as a side effect after
resolving the main issue)

This bug has not been fixed properly. After installing catdvi in a
clean pbuilder chroot and copying array.dvi (from tetex-doc, installed
gzipped) into the chroot, the same error message persists. No wonder,
since mktextfm is not present, it is not in tetex-base, but in
tetex-bin.

In order to fix this properly, the new texlive packages also need to be
taken into account. Therefore the dependency should be

tetex-base | texlive-base, tetex-bin | texlive-base-bin

Technically, this line could also be used:

tetex-bin | texlive-base, tetex-bin | texlive-base-bin

because tetex-bin depends on -base, anyway. But I guess the first one
makes it clearer what the Depends actually mean: It needs at least the
basic fonts, and it needs the mktextfm executable.

Someone said earlier in the bug report that the fonts are dependencies
of the document, not of catdvi. In a sense, this is correct. However

- mktextfm is not a dependency of the document, it's an executable
(indirectly) called by catdvi, and therefore the dependency on
  tetex-bin | texlive-base-bin is warranted anyway (and it's being
missing makes the package totally useless, hence the severity).

- catdvi cannot be sensibly used without the fonts being present. In
many cases, fonts from tetex-base will be included (for maths, special
symbols etc) even if the document does not use the standard TeX font,
Computer Modern. Therefore I think that a Depends on tetex-base |
  texlive-base is also warranted.

I think that in fact it would be better to additionally Recommend
  tetex-extra | texlive-fonts-recommended

Regards, Frank

Bug#386082: ggz-kde-games: Not binNMU compatible

2006-09-05 Thread Andreas Metzler
Package: ggz-kde-games
Version: 0.0.13-2
Severity: normal

The package interdependencies look like this:

Package: ggz-kde-games
Architecture: any
Depends: ${shlibs:Depends}, ggz-kde-games-data (= ${source:Version})

Package: ggz-kde-games-data
Architecture: all
Depends: ggz-kde-games (= ${source:Version})

This results in
--
Package: ggz-kde-games-data
Version: 0.0.13-2
Depends: ggz-kde-games (= 0.0.13-2)

Package: ggz-kde-games
Version: 0.0.13-2
Depends: ... ggz-kde-games-data (= 0.0.13-2)
--

After a binNMU the packages will be uninstallable. ggz-kde-games-data
is not rebuilt as it is binary-all, so we'd end up with:
--
Package: ggz-kde-games-data
Version: 0.0.13-2
Depends: ggz-kde-games (= 0.0.13-2)

Package: ggz-kde-games
Version: 0.0.13-2+b1
Depends: ... ggz-kde-games-data (= 0.0.13-2)
--

Note that ggz-kde-games-data's dependency is not fullfillable anymore.

I would suggest fixing this making ggz-kde-games-data's dependencies
less strict, either by turing the Depends in a Recommends (This would
also get rid of the dependency circle) or by simply dropping the
versioning:

Depends: ggz-kde-games

The versioned dependency in ggz-kde-games will still enforce the
version.

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

I my opinion there are not any dependencies in this versions?

and libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22sarge4

As far as I know, the current teTeX shipped with texmf.cnf
with entries like the following;

% XeTeX
TEXINPUTS.xelatex = .;$TEXMF/tex/{latex,generic,}//
TEXINPUTS.xetex   = .;$TEXMF/tex/{plain,generic,}//

but XeTeX package puts xkeyval.sty etc. under
/u/l/s/texmf/tex/xelatex

so xelatex did find xkeyval.sty of tetex but not of xetex.

Oh, yes, it is an upgrade issue that affects everybody who has
experimental packages installed or in state "rc". But that is intended,
as the message implies:

,
| Upgrade from experimental versions are not supported!
| Please purge all texlive packages before installation.

However, this bug report was indeed helpful and has revealed a couple
of other issues, most of which have already been resolved in our SVN
repository. Norbert, will you close this bug report in the changelog,
or should we close it manually and let the side effects be side effects?

Please take the time to compose meaningful entries as recommended by
the Developer's Reference, see ch. 6.3 at

Especially when it comes to RC bugs, "Fix" is just what to hope for,
but it doesn't explain what exactly is fixed as there were several
errors mentioned in the bugreport.
So, something along
| * Fix FTBFS: Segmentation fault during makepat, thanks to Jérôme

would have been a start.

Thanks,

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. Then xetex users (and the future xetex
Debian package) should have a file
/etc/texmf/texmf.d/41TeXinputsXeTeX.cnf with the content

% XeTeX
TEXINPUTS.xelatex = .;$TEXMF/tex/{xelatex,xetex,latex,generic,}//
TEXINPUTS.xetex   = .;$TEXMF/tex/{xetex,plain,generic,}//

(assuming that there is also TEXMF/tex/xetex, otherwise the xetex
addition should be dropped). We can as well drop the setting of xetex
paths right now, can't we?

Bug#385722: please consider splitting off sysvutils

I'm positive to splitting these tools off into their own package. I'm
unsure about the effect this will have on debootstrap and the
debian-installer, so I post the patch here first, for review.

It is based on the code in sysvinit version 2.86.ds1-14.1ubuntu7 from

I beat you to it by a few days ;-) A pity, your report would have
saved me some debugging.

If you understand va_* -- could you please help me with fixing the
second definition of vsprintf_a, which has the same issue, but which I
don't know how to fix? It doesn't bite GNU/Linux systems, where the
first definition is used.

Thanks,

The ARM binary package 0.0.13-2 of ggz-kde-games links against

ggz-kde-games is not binNMU-able (#386082) a maintainer upload is
required to fix this.

You can NMU. I'm terribly sorry for being slow and as well as giving

Ok.. I don't mind either way as long as the version we release supports my

Bug#386094: /etc/init.d/networking restart doesn't kill dhclient when /etc/network/interfaces is set to static IP

2006-09-05 Thread Steffan Davies

Package: netbase
Version: 4.25

Hi -

On a couple of etch systems we have here, some odd behaviour has been
observed:

 * the system is installed to use dhcp (for convenience)
 * /etc/network/interfaces is edited to set a static IP for the (sole)
   ethernet interface, eth0
 * /etc/init.d/networking restart is run
 * the system correctly sets up eth0
 * BUT some hours later, dhclient reconfigures the interface to DHCP

Example uname -a :
Linux kurt 2.6.16-2-686 #1 Sat Jul 15 21:59:21 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux

The expected behaviour (by me - perhaps there's a good reason why this
shouldn't be so) would be for the networking init script to kill off any
lingering dhclient processes when networking is restarted.

Cheers,

Steff

Bug#386090: wpasupplicant: no association to unencrypted network

2006-09-05 Thread Marc Haber
Package: wpasupplicant
Version: 0.5.4-5
Severity: normal

Hi,

with the following wpa_supplicant.conf.local, wpasupplicant does not
associate to unencrypted networks, such as public Hot-Spots:

network={
id_str="wlan-open"
ssid=""
key_mgmt=NONE
}

network={
id_str="wlan-l21"
ssid="my-home-network"
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
psk=
}

network={
id_str="wlan-sandra"
ssid="girlfriends-home-network"
key_mgmt=NONE
wep_key0=
scan_ssid=1
}

Looks like the supplicant does not properly handle the empty ssid
string as "ANY".

Greetings
Marc

Bug#386092: wpasupplicant: does not properly clean up interface on shutdown

2006-09-05 Thread Marc Haber
Package: wpasupplicant
Version: 0.5.4-5
Severity: normal

When I am trying to use a public hotspot, I need to associate to an
unencrypted network. This does not seem to work after wpasupplicant
was once started (as it happens automatically on my system). After
calling wpa_action eth1 stop, and setting iwconfig eth1 essid any, I
need to completely unload the ipw2200 module and reload it for
association to happen.

For me, this looks like wpasupplicant setting some functions in the
interface and not removing these settings when it shuts down.

Greetings
Marc

you are right.

As $? looks like $? in the shell I thought it would behave the same way.
I'll add some code from the example in perlfunc(1) to preserve the
exit code.

Thank you very much for your help!

Bug#386088: FTBFS: missing dependency on newer findutils

2006-09-05 Thread Max Kellermann

In debian/rules, the "-L" flag of "find" is being used, which is not
supported by findutils in sarge. Adding a versioned build dependency
would make backporting slightly easier.

Yes and a prototype Debian package of XeTeX already has
a file 44xetex.cnf with the same contents.

How did you install XeTeX? The installation script provided by upstream
is a bit odd in that it puts even updated packages like xkeyval into a
XeTeX-specific tree. IIRC by default it uses something like
/usr/local/share/texmf/tex/xelatex/xkeyval/xkeyval.sty
   ^^
However, files in such a directory are found only at very late point.
One can change this by adjusting some parameters in texmf.cnf. I am not
sure if and how the current XeTeX install script does that.

Yes, but I don't like the idea of using at(1) for that, simply
because the machine on which you claimed the bug may no longer exist

Bug#210992: fixed in 2.05?

2006-09-05 Thread Thomas Habets
I'm unable to reproduce it with 2.05:

sudo ./arping -q -c 1 -T $a.$b.$c.$d $TARGET_MAC
arping: Can't resolve ..., or ... is broadcast. If it is, use -B instead of -T

Obviously without the env stuff set this is the same as "arping -q -c 1
-T ...", and only "arping -T ..." is needed to segv 2.01.

Since the parameter to -T is sent verbatim to libnet, the segv itself looks
like it's in there.

It looks like I didn't init libnet in 2.01 (mea culpa), however this is fixed
in 2.05 (or possibly sooner. It's been a while), and I can't reproduce it
with 2.05. Are you SURE it's still in 2.05?

Bug#386096: evms-gui: "Create segment" dialog doesn't update Partition Type ID when Partition Type is changed

2006-09-05 Thread Andrew Schulman
Package: evms-gui
Version: 2.5.5-16

I right-click on some disk freespace, and choose "Create segment".
The "Create Segment Configuration Options" dialog appears. When I
change the Partition Type, the Partition TYpe ID field should
be updated to the new correct value, but it's not. (And vice versa:
if I change the Partition Type ID, it would be nice if the Partition
Type field changed to match it, if there is a match.)

Bug#386095: When ruuning from gluck.debian.org, reportbug was `Unable to connect to BTS'

2006-09-05 Thread Shaul Karl
Package: reportbug
Version: 3.8
Severity: normal

When logged in to my account on gluck, reportbug reported it
was `Unable to connect to BTS' in order to query for the existing
reports. I was able to run lynx bugs.debian.org. I had no such
problem when I tried from my local machine at the same time.
I can't tell if this is due to a bug with reportbug or something
that is connected to the settings of gluck.

Bug#386097: evms: BSD segment manager is unavailable

2006-09-05 Thread Andrew Schulman
Package: evms
Version: 2.5.5-16
Severity: normal

When I go to assign a segment manager to a disk, the DOS, BBR, and GPT
segment managers are offered, but the BSD segment manager is not.
This happens in both evmsgui and evmsn. The plugins list does list
the BSD segment manager plugin.

Bug#386098: fluxbox: doesn't work properly with a borderless Eterm

2006-09-05 Thread Daniele Sempione
Package: fluxbox
Version: 0.9.14-1.2
Severity: normal

I use eterm with these options:
Eterm -O --shade 40 --font-fx none --buttonBar no --scrollBar no

and everything works. if I add option -x to Eterm because I want it to
be borderless ..
Eterm -x -O --shade 40 --font-fx none --buttonBar no --scrollBar no

it doesn't appear on the toolbar, the created console can't be selected
if other windows are open. if it's the only window I can type within it,
but I can't move it (with the Move command binded to keys). even if a
run only -x option (Eterm -x) the effect is the same. other windows are
all ok.

Cheers,
Daniele

Bug#330147: RTF FAQ

2006-09-05 Thread Thomas Habets
Q: I can't ping any/some MAC address on my LAN.

A: Arping when pinging a MAC relies on the host to answer a broadcast ping
(icmp echo request) properly (IIRC: not the windows way). If you want a
host to pop up on MAC ping, you have to config it to respond to broadcast
   pings.
(for linux, make sure /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_broadcasts is 0)
A: -T allows you to restrict the arping to a limited subnet, which
may or may not work for you. For example if the box 00:01:02:03:04:05 is on
192.168.0.0/24 then the broadcast probably is 192.168.0.255, so try:
   # arping -T 192.168.0.255 00:01:02:03:04:05

Bug#349591: dspam-webfrontend should be configured after dspam is configured

2006-09-05 Thread Tilman Koschnick
reassign 349591 dspam-webfrontend 3.6.8-2
thanks

Hi,

the problem still persists in version 3.6.8-2:

8<
Setting up dspam-webfrontend (3.6.8-2) ...
dpkg-statoverride: non-existing user dspam

You need --help.
dpkg: error processing dspam-webfrontend (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 dspam-webfrontend
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I guess the right solution would be to create the dspam user/group in
dspam-webfrontend if it doesn't exist yet.

Cheers, Til

This isn't relevant for the bug report, but I think you got it wrong -- Perl
_does_ distinguish between them. In Perl, a scalar is either binary (in which
case it contains raw bytes), or it is text. In the latter case, it is
logically Unicode, but can be stored internally in iso8859-1 or UTF-8 as Perl
sees fit (and is converted transparently between the two). The fact that XS
modules also have to care about this is, of course, another matter :-)

Thanks for the note. The relevant findutils build-deps is: >= 4.2.26.

I'll try to remove most find calls as i'm currently doing in pango, but
the ones with -L seem pretty recent, and have good chances to be
 required.

I've changed my plans, I won't backport the changes to 0.9.1 and will wait for
the next upstream release. I'm confident that Roberto releases 0.9.2 before
we will release etch.

OK. Personally I like the GTK2 look much better, even with its problems.
The main reason is that all of my available fonts look crappy in GTK1.
The GTK2 look is much easier on the eyes, even with minor blemishes.

BTW I have no idea if this particular problem happened in the GTK1 version.
It may have.

Thanks for your work on evms.

FWIW, I'm conferring with the Ubuntu people to just drop the GTK 2.0 patch;
it just needs too much work (which nobody is doing) to be worth it.

Bug#386102: ITP: javassist -- library for editing bytecodes in Java

2006-09-05 Thread marcus
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: javassist
  Version : 3.3
  Upstream Author : Shigeru Chiba
* URL or Web page : http://www.csg.is.titech.ac.jp/~chiba/javassist
* License : LGPL
Description : library for editing bytecodes in Java

This librariy makes Java bytecode manipulation simple. It enables Java
programs to define a new class at runtime and to modify a class file
when the JVM loads it.

Unlike other bytecode editors, Javassist provides two levels of API:
source level and bytecode level. With the source-level API, users can
edit a class file without knowledge of the specifications of the Java
bytecode. You can even specify inserted bytecode in the form of source
text; Javassist compiles it on the fly. On the other hand, the
bytecode-level API allows the users to directly edit a class file as
other editors.

Bug#386099: FTBFS with GCC 4.2: uses removed minimum/maximum operator

2006-09-05 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: magnus
Version: 20060324-3

Your package fails to build with GCC 4.2. Version 4.2 has not been
released yet but I'm building with a snapshot in order to find errors
and give people an advance warning. You're using an minimum/maximum
or similar operator (that is, , ?=) which has been removed
as of 4.2. These operators have been removed since GCC 4.0 so please
let your upstream know about this issue.

You can reproduce this with the gcc-snapshot package from unstable
(20060823-1 or higher).

This bug only manifests on your system because you're not using Sarge's
version (1.4.30.13) of Debconf. I don't think that fixing bugs in
stable because of their interaction with packages from testing is really
all that sane.

I'm looking at them one by one, bluez debian packages are maintained with svn.

indeed, how about this plan:

- I will add to bluez-utils a default non-interactive passkey agent (more or
less
like now but less hackish) which uses /etc/bluetooth/passkeys/ like
  now
- bluez-gnome will provide the graphical passkey agent which takes over the
  non-interactive one

Marcel: can agents be "stackable", that is, if two agents are registered and
first one doesn't supply an answer, the second will?

Bug#386098: fluxbox: doesn't work properly with a borderless Eterm

2006-09-05 Thread Henri Salo

Daniele Sempione wrote:

Package: fluxbox
Version: 0.9.14-1.2
Severity: normal

I use eterm with these options:
Eterm -O --shade 40 --font-fx none --buttonBar no --scrollBar no

and everything works. if I add option -x to Eterm because I want it to
be borderless ..
Eterm -x -O --shade 40 --font-fx none --buttonBar no --scrollBar no

it doesn't appear on the toolbar, the created console can't be selected
if other windows are open. if it's the only window I can type within it,
but I can't move it (with the Move command binded to keys). even if a
run only -x option (Eterm -x) the effect is the same. other windows are
all ok.

Cheers,
Daniele

You don't need to be on pkg-java to get the svn work, read is public.
You don't need to be part of pkg-java to send patches and to subscribe

I don't think there is a need for a patch, using the new upstream
tarball should be enough.

I'll try to be in sync with my Debian packages asap.

Bug#386116: nfs-common depends on both libnfsidmap2 and libnfsidmap1

2006-09-05 Thread Max Kellermann
Package: nfs-common
Version: 1.0.9-11

nfs-common has a hard coded dependency on libnfsidmap1. However when
I compile it with 0.17-3 (libnfsidmap2), which is perfectly legal
according to nfs-util's build dependencies, the resulting binary
package depends on both versions of the library.

Yep. One moment the various 'linux' processes are at the top in `top`, the
next moment they're gone and nothing happens anymore.

I'll try these and let you know what's up.

In the cases where I got the farthest, it's the 'sync' process that hung,
called from debootstrap. In other cases it was 'dpkg-deb' that hung, also
called from debootstrap.

What's the difference between -x and :ToggleDecor ?

The question is kind of stupid actually. I may have the answer :)
Eterm's guys decided to add a -x option to not draw the border while
:ToggleDecor works for any apps and is wm based.

Maybe -x should be handled (fluxbox should see it has been ran
borderless) but isnt the correct way to do :ToggleDecor ?

Yup, you're right. That was my fault.

Version 15.5+cvs20060902-1 is in unstable now. Could you try to
reproduce it there and check wheter the bug is really fixed (I just

Bug#386118: per-backup ex/include options overshadow global options

2006-09-05 Thread martin f krafft
Package: rsnapshot
Version: 1.2.9-1
Severity: normal

With the following lines in the configuration file:

  exclude /sys
  exclude /proc
  backup [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/ wall/ exclude=/var/spool/squid

the rsync call used is

  /usr/bin/rsync -a --delete --numeric-ids --relative
  --delete-excluded --exclude=/var/spool/squid --rsh=/usr/bin/ssh
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/ /srv/backups/daily.0/wall/

you can see how the /sys and /proc excludes are being ignored.
I would consider this a bug as this behaviour is not documented.
I think global exclude/include options should apply to all backups.

The #218 fix wasn't for the app-defaults setting, but to fix the bug that
you reported with regard to non-printing characters.

While testing this, I did notice that not all of the terminal emulators
in Debian had eliminated the title-response string which is addressed by
the allowWindowOps resource. I'm reluctant to change the default resource
value since (without a solid policy enforced for _all_ terminal emulators),
it only would add to the bug reports that I have to deal with.

it would be nice if ilbc could be packaged in a non-free package, say
'asterisk-codec-ilbc' for those, like me, that use this codec. If it's
possible and doesn't produce a lot of trouble.

Cheers,
Marc Fargas.

Hi,

This sounds interesting but why is it useful to have a package?

Hello,

Well, because it is easier for Debian users to search for, install, upgrade
such books. Basically on the same line wrt packaging are the c-cpp-reference
package (although not being so exhaustive) and ocaml-book-en|fr (being a very
serious book, but unfortunately in non-free).

your choice, but it is no longer part of bluez-utils.

These two patches were already in the CVS.

Added this one. This will get you down to two.

Doesn't make sense, because it is distro specific and you duplicate
functionality that is already present. Don't do this. This stuff must
die. I am serious about it.

Make sure you deprecate bluez-pin, because that one is no longer working
or even useful at all.

The default passkey agent (like bt-applet) is not stackable. There
should be only one default passkey agent and that one should be provided
by the Desktop environment (like GNOME, KDE etc.). However you can have
multiple device specific agents for connection wizards or other
situations where you expect a PIN request.

Regards

Marcel
