Hi Tom,
the default hylafax configuration does not include these links. They are
used if present, but they are automatically created only if mgetty is
installed and they are missing; in this case they will point to mgetty.
They are mentioned in /usr/share/doc/hylafax-server/README.Debian.gz

Let me recap.

1. you have a standard installation without mgetty and you just want
hylafax to receive faxes and ignore the remaining calls;
2. you have a modem that sometimes misunderstand voice calls and threat
them as data calls;
3. hylafax receive a call and, if the modem tell it is not a fax, call
the program /etc/hylafax/getty-link that in your configuration
is /bin/bash or another shell.

Is this right? If it is, please remove the file /etc/hylafax/getty-link
and restart hylafax. Please note that this was not automatically
configured. If you want to have a test, save your config, purge
hylafax-server and -client, and reinstall them.

Bye,
Giuseppe

Maybe it's still time to try working to support such modems from the
installer, through the ppp-udeb and all that kind of stuff.

There has been some increased interest in PPPoE support for the
installer in the very few last days.we should maybe try to avoid
letting this vanishing.

I really encourage people interested in this to subscribe to
[EMAIL PROTECTED], join the #debian-boot IRC channel andtry.

Eddy Petrisor did some work with Marco for a working ppp-udeb
package. That work mostly needs to be completed to make it an official
feature of D-I. That can maybe be done on time for Etch.or anyway,
it would be good to have this working for post-etch.

(of course, the tricky part will certainly be these firmware issues
one usually faces with the USB DSL modems, unfortunately)

I personnally know nothing about this stuff (or very few.I very
quickly dropped the USB modem offerred by my ISP when I got DSL, 4
years ago).and I can just encourage you people to try working on
all this.

Bug#351237: totem-xine: audio error playing a dvd

2006-08-26 Thread Fabian Fagerholm
Package: totem
Version: 1.4.1-2
Followup-For: Bug #351237

I'm able to consistently reproduce this bug. Here's the information
requested by Gustavo. No application is using /dev/dsp, so I'm looking
for /dev/snd instead:

$ sudo lsof | grep /dev/snd
mixer_app 6004 fabbe 39u CHR 116,0 11105 /dev/snd/controlC0
gnome-vol 6057 fabbe 15u CHR 116,0 11105 /dev/snd/controlC0
totem 8348 fabbe 27u CHR 116,0 11105 /dev/snd/controlC0

I shut down gnome-volume-control (pid 6057 above) and killed mixer_app
(pid 6004) and after that the sound worked in totem. I didn't have esd
running (GNOME menu Desktop->Preferences->Sound, Enable software sound
mixing (ESD) was off).

I hope this helps. I can provide additional information if needed.

Bug#380105: Show current hour in hardware clock question

Hey, Sven. Aren't you the one who very often insists on difficulties
faces by non-English speakers ? :-)

In the abve paragraph, what I intended to say is:

"Cette suggestion a déjà été fait dans les dernières semaines mais
elle a pour l'instant été écartée car nou spréférons en général éviter
les fonctionnalités disponibles seulement dans certaines versions de
l'installateur".

So, I "translated" "écartée" (which is, in French, a quite non rude
word) by "ruled out"which is indeed the *only* English expression
that comes to my mind o roughly express the same idea. It is very
possible that "rule out" is stronger than my real intent (anyway, I'm
not the one who "ruled this out").

So, please, don't put in my mouth the words you often seem to see in
other people's mouth.

What has been "ruled out" is a feature with a clock showing up in the
corner of the G-I screen (indeed something similar to the extra games
you discussed abut in January).

Well, there's a missing 'if (aCheckValue)' before
kz_prompt_dialog_set_check_value(prompt, *aCheckValue);

on GtkPromptService.cpp:350, like 2 lines later:

if (aCheckValue)
*aCheckValue = kz_prompt_dialog_get_check_value(prompt);

Actually, since I was able to reproduce the crash, I tried to apply the
patch. Here is a patched package.

Thanks for the two patches, Ben. I'll fix up xprint-utils first up, but

Yeah, but it has been my experience that the d-i leadership has some rather
dogmatic approach to this kind of things, and ones something has been decided
by the powers that be, even mentioning it is putting oneself as risk of
becoming the target of a hate campaign, as i was over the kernel .udeb issue
(altough i am also partly at fault, but only partly).

Indeed, i had no comment on what you said, but it shows clearly the futility
of trying to propose or discuss ideas about it, since doing so will attire me
the ire of frans and co, which i wanted to avoid in the first place. Too late
now.

Indeed. I do believe it is a small-minded ruling lacknig vision and temerity.

I am bitter about this whole issue, and this may reflect and color my attitude
over this, but since it has been ruled out, i will not insist further, because
i know what it is going to cost me once frans is back.

Indeed, but as you said, it has been ruled out, so anything coming from me
will be seen as further defiance of the d-i team authority, let's not push
this further, others may feel to develop these ideas more.

I thought that the debbugs-cc to debian-i18n would be enough to alert
i18n folks about this and that they probably wouldn't keep track of
l10n-related bugs assigned to the general pseudo-package. I didn't know
that debian-i18n looks after the bugs on the general package too.

You can get tilde with shift and that key left of 1/!.

If you want to go back, just add:

key   { [ 1, exclam,   asciitilde,   dead_tilde ] };

after include "cs(latin)" in your symbols/hr. It should look like this:

xkb_symbols "basic" {
name[Group1]="Croatia";
include "cs(latin)"
key   { [ 1, exclam,   asciitilde,   dead_tilde ] };
};

Bug#384642: mutt: Editing mails in UTF-8 on a latin1 terminal.

vim is set up to try utf-8 first, and if it fails fall back to
iso-8859-1. If I'm replying to a mail, and mutt stores the text in
iso-8859-1, vim will detect that proplery, and things work.

If I start to write a mail myself, it doesn't contain any non-ascii
characters, so vim has no reason to fallback to latin1, and treats the
file contents as utf-8.

It might be a good thing, but it's not really what I want, and it's not
really working either. vim seems to be figuring out what charset mutt
used to save the file if it's non-ascii, but mutt then can't figure out
what charset vim used if it's non-ascii.

> >It seems that mutt always considers the encoding of the filename to
> >be the same as for the terminal, and that's not really what I want.

> Wait, you???re trying to make the *filename* be encoded in utf-8?

Sorry, that was a typo, it should just have said file. I'm always
talking about the contents, the name of the file doesn't matter, and is
ascii anyway.

> >Forcing the charset to utf-8 to seems to be working, but then I
> >can't properly read mails in mutt.
>
> Why can???t you properly read mails in mutt?

What I mean with forcing it to utf-8, is doing set charset=utf-8, but
keeping a latin1 terminal. Of course this is causing various problems
with displaying anything non-ascii.

In that case, vim properly generates a utf-8 file and mutt reads it
properly as an utf-8 file, and when I send it, it sends it as
iso-8859-1, and does set charset to iso-8859-1. So then everything
works as it should.

The way it is now, it sends things as vim saves the file as utf-8, and
mutt sends the contents of the file as vim generated it, so with utf-8
characters in it, and sets charset in the header to either "iso-8859-1"
or "unknown-8bit", instead of utf-8 or changing it to iso-8859-1 as it
does when the charset in mutt is set to utf-8.

(I can't reproduce the unknown-8bit though.)

If mutt would either auto detect that the file is in utf-8, or there was
an option I could use to tell it to try that, things should work as I
want them.

Setting my terminal really in utf-8 mode would solve all my problems,
the problem is that all the software I use currently does not support
that, so I keep my terminal in latin1 mode.

Bug#378826: About xferlog

thanks

ftpstat simply ignores proftpd.conf, it uses the default location
which can be overriden (as in debian default config) by user.
You can work around the issue with -f option, anyway.
A proper fix would be parsing the proftpd.conf file for that, but
it is definitively an upstream choice.

Please tell me any good reason for adding this patch. AFAICS it does the
same thing as aespipe does, but using the dm-crypt format. I wish the
author would provide a separate tool for doing in-pipe encryption
instead of patching external software. His reason "I had to use scripts"
does not make sense looking at the example with the mkisofs pipe, nor
"my scripts were not flexible enough". What does that mean, adding
another command in the command chain is too complicated?
And the code flow itself should be easy enough to convert it to a pipe
filter tool.

Something like aes-pipe (dm-crypt-pipe?) with the internals exchanged.

It would even beat the last reason "or simply were not flexible enough".
With a pipe, you can choose which encoder you want to use.

Eduard.

Bug#380466: #380466 - kazehakase: backtrace

2006-08-26 Thread Mike Hommey
So, looking a bit further, there are actually 2 issues.

The first is that xulrunner doesn't set the signon.rememberSignons pref to
true, which might have been the case in mozilla. This is understandable,
since the main use of xulrunner is supposed to be for embedding and that
all embedding applications don't have a profile directory to store the
password manager database and don't necessarily want to store the
passwords even when they have a profile directory.

That means kazehakase should set this preference to true, like it does
for some other preferences.

The second issue is that when signon.rememberSignons is false, it
still displays the checkbox to ask if the user want to save the
password.

Both issues are addresses by the attached patch.

Note that the 'if (aCheckValue)' replacing 'if (aCheckMsg)' is enough to
be sure it doesn't crash because aCheckValue and aCheckMsg are set
together at xulrunner level. If aCheckValue is null, that means that we
don't want the checkbox, and its label (aCheckMsg) is also NULL. On the
contrary, if aCheckValue points to a boolean for the check box to be
pre-checked or not, aCheckMsg also points to the message that should be
displayed as the checkbox label.

The setting of signon.rememberSignons allows the user to set it to false
if he prefers. He just needs to go to about:config and toggle its value.

岩井さん, if you want sponsorship for a -2 release, having worked on the
issue, I can sponsor an upload for you. Or maybe you'd prefer I just
NMUed.

Note that the package available on people.debian.org/~glandium/ has been
updated and was built with the attached patch.

Cheers

Mike

Bug#384719: Multisite configuration needed

2006-08-26 Thread Alexander Gerasiov
Package: mediawiki1.7
Version: 1.7.1-1
Severity: wishlist

As I can see, there are some code in mediawiki, wich should allow
multisite ($IP variable wich used in many places to find where to get
files), but It would be nice, if you make somethink like wordpress
package, wich load configuration file depends of $SERVER variable or
somethink like that.

Regards, Alexander.

It's not practical. Either it can work in the installer without fiddling

What I did was tell vim that it should internally store things in utf-8
by setting "encoding=utf-8". This also has as effect that it changes
the default for fileencodings to "ucs-bom,utf-8,latin1". The value of
encoding is also based on the terminal settings, but has nothing to do
with either the fileencoding (which is based on fileencodings) or the
termencoding. Note that I've also filed a bug against vim to change
that behaviour a little.

This seems to be working, but I think I'll end up with problems replying
to latin1 mails for which mutt stores the file in latin1, and then I'll
end up sending a latin1 mail with headers claiming it to be utf-8.

Yes, that's what it says, and I was hoping it did more than that, but it
doesn't seem to.

It turns out that maybe killing those processes was not what actually
helped. I'm not sure, but I think totem simply started playing normally
when I pressed the play button after the error dialog had popped up.

I can still reproduce the bug, though. What could I do to debug this?

That's not possible today. You need to setup the $editor to read and
write files exclusively and dumbly in the current locale charset, when
it is called by Mutt.

What you ask would make sense in some situations (like Mutt in a L1
term calling gvim in UTF, and such), and is already on the upstream Mutt
wishlist/1317: "Add config var edit_charset".

I close this Debian bug as duplicate (in upstream BTS Gnats, we
don't merge but close dupes), and will add you to the interested parties
of /1317.

Keep the later value. But $file_charset acts on text files you
from the compose menu, not on the text you write.

You're right. Why do you want another charset? Knowing your exact
goal, we could perhaps suggest other means. Probably a topic more for
mutt-users mailing list or comp.mail.mutt than for a BTS, though.

That's fine, but I don't just want the tilde, I want the caret back to two
keypresses, too. And the backtick, and sometimes the double acute, and all
the others.

The compose functionality is nifty, I agree, but it's simply not a feature
of the standard Croatian keyboard layout and should be relegated back to an
option.

That idea is lacking for several reasons - first of all, that file is now in
/usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/hr, and is no longer marked as a configuration
file. Secondly, the fix would only affect my machine, and not all the others
where people also expect the old behaviour to continue working.

This fix won't work for 2.4 or 2.6 <= 2.6.16

According to [1] we will remove serialmidi from the variety of
available drivers.

Upon switching to maildrop 2.x on a production system with a more complex
setup than the one where I usually tested the package, I noticed several
problems:

* the switch to PCRE introduced the normal regular expression syntax which
is a worthy goal, but unfortunately that also means that:

  * it voided the old pattern->variable syntax, where /first!second!third/
would create variables $MATCH1=first, $MATCH2=second and $MATCH3=third.
This one's easy to fix, you just have to replace all your !s with
parenthesis marks in the right places, and re-count your matches
(since there is no more implicit matching of the part up to the first !)

  * the checking of character classes became more rigorous, so it will die
when encountering a standalone named class [:something:] outside of a
character class - easily fixed by adding another set of []s around it.

* the switch to courier-authlib made the -d option imply a connection to the
Courier authdaemon, whereas for normal users such a connection is not
attempted. This causes problems in MTA-to-MDA interaction if for example
you had your Exim transport run maildrop -d $local_part and at the same
time used its own user/group-setting mechanism. This appears to have been
a pointless setup even before when it didn't crap out - but now the
solution is simple - just drop the -d $local_part bit.

Of course, all of the above errors cause a temporary error and make the
messages remain in queue. But they still all require a manual intervention,
and that sounds like it will prompt a lot of bug reports :(

Bug#384730: undocumented features referenced in description

2006-08-26 Thread Robert Millan
Package: dhttpd
Severity: normal

Description reads:

"The only add-ons are an optional directory listing feature, and the ability
to lookup hosts for logging purposes."

however, documentation in the package doesn't explain how to use these features.

I also looked at source code, and there doesn't seem to be any option to enable
this.

(there's also the -r option, which isn't documented either. but this one
does exist ;)

Bug#384731: screem: file monitoring idiocy

2006-08-26 Thread Martin-Éric Racine
Package: screem
Version: 0.16.1-3.1
Severity: normal

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Probably more interesting for upstream than for Debian per-se:

Whenever saving a file (using CTRL S), Screem brings out an alert box,
notifying the user that:

"file:///home/q-funk/public_html/styles.css has changed on disk
Reload instead of saving?"

Well, DUH! Screem just saved a new version, so of course the version
on disk has just been updated!

Perhaps the file monitoring loop could be momentarily hushed, whenever
saving a file, to avoid this sort of annoying non-sense?

Bug#384642: mutt: Editing mails in UTF-8 on a latin1 terminal.

That would work for me. Specially if it could do a fall-back utf-8 to
latin1, but always having it in utf-8 works for me too.

The proper way would be to set it as forwarded, since it's not actually
solved.

Basicly, I want to store files in UTF-8. I also want to be able to edit
files that are stored in UTF-8. And I want to do that regardless of what
the terminal is set up to. I don't want to use iconv on a file to
convert it from/to utf-8, I want my editor to do that. And I've set up
vim to do what I want.

It's just that when mutt and vim interact, they don't agree on the
character encoding.

Bug#384729: fvwm: segfaults at startup when Xlib does not like locale

2006-08-26 Thread Henning Makholm
Package: fvwm
Version: 1:2.5.17-1
Severity: important

After upgrading to 1:2.5.17-1, fvwm segfaults at startup after
complaining that the X library does not support my locale. This
segfault did not happen with 1:2.5.16-2.

I built an unstripped binary and reproduced the segfault in a clean
environment; see attached typescript for a backtrace. The :1 display
is a fresh xnest server with no other clients and no resources. The
program appears to work correctly if I undefine $LANG prior to
starting it.

Bug#384734: debsecan: Fixed Sun java packages still listed as vulnerable (CVE-2006-2426)

2006-08-26 Thread Michel Messerschmidt
Package: debsecan
Version: 0.4.2

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

http://idssi.enyo.de/tracker/CVE-2006-2426 currently states that no
fixed Sun Java packages exist and lists even version 1.5.0-08-1 as
vulnerable.

I think this is wrong because CVE-2006-2426 mentions only
vulnerabilities in Java up to 1.5.0_06.
The changelog of sun-java5 1.5.0-08-1 acknowledges that the
upstream release 1.5.0_08 is included.

I have this bug on my system, saw the bug that this was blocking on, and
noticed that I didn't even have xfs installed - is the X Font Server a

Bug#360671: seamonkey for etch ?

2006-08-26 Thread Mike Hommey
Hi everyone,

(Sorry for the duplicates people may receive)

I'd like to know what the status is for these ITP on seamonkey. Is
actually someone working on it ? Are there any preliminary packages ?

Being myself maintainer of xulrunner and co-maintainer of firefox, I can
give a hand if necessary. I think Alexander Sack, who has worked on mozilla
security updates wouldn't mind giving some advices too.

If it appears that noone is working on that, I'll take over the ITPs and
upload a seamonkey package by the end of september (I think), but I first
need to know if someone is doing something or not, to avoid duplication of
efforts.

Thanks for your attention.

Mike

Bug#384738: make stop/restart fail-tolerant

2006-08-26 Thread Robert Millan
Package: thttpd
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch

If thttpd dies unexpectedly (and this is something that happens too often),
/etc/init.d/thttpd stop|restart will fail, the pidfile will stay, and it will
be impossible to restart the daemon unless the pidfile is removed.

This patch makes it tolerant to kill(1) failure.

Bug#384741: upgrade to libmysqlclient15off 5.0.24-1 breaks libdbd-mysql-perl 3.0006-1

2006-08-26 Thread tim

package: libmysqlclient15off
version: 5.0.24-1

package: libdbd-mysql-perl
version: 3.0006-1

I have a fully up-to-date system based on Debian testing, running mysql 4.1.15-1

I ran aptitude update /upgrade earlier this week and libmysqlclient15off was
upgraded to 5.0.24-1 from 5.0.22-4. Subsequently amavisd-new started reporting
'Transactions not supported' when trying to log to an InnoDB mysql database. It
then emerged that any use of perl DBD/DBI connecting to mysql generated this
error. The short script below will cause the error.

#!/usr/bin/perl -w

use DBI;
# substitute your own suitable InnoDB database info and credentials for testing
my $user = 'test';
my $pw = 'test';
my $db = 'test'
DBI->trace(4);
my $dbh = DBI->connect("DBI:mysql:database=$db;host=127.0.0.1", $user, $pw,
  { AutoCommit => 0, RaiseError => 0 });
  die DBI::errstr unless $dbh;

$dbh->disconnect;

Downgrading back to mysqlclient15off 5.0.22-4 cleared the problem. It has also
been reported on the net that recompiling DBD also fixes the issue although I
haven't tried this myself.

2006-08-26 Thread radempa

Version: 3.0.2+hg9697-2
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Below you find the output of apt-get install xen-utils-3.0 .
/usr/sbin/xend tries tom import the python scripts from
/usr/lib/python as well as from /usr/lib64/python ; both directories
do not exist on my system, I have python2.4 installed.
(With both python2.3 and python2.4 installed I had the same error.)
(When forcing an install of libxen-python, which is no more existent
in the repository, 'xend start' does work.)
The problem is obviously connected with the python transition.

This bug is grave, because xen-utils-3.0 is broken after install and
cannot be removed via apt / dpkg. I had to manually do prerm (fails,
partially), delete, postrm.

I have this problem for at least a week now.

Bug#384743: ITP: lua5.1-policy -- lua5.1 policy for debian packages

2006-08-26 Thread Enrico Tassi
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Enrico Tassi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: lua5.1-policy
  Version : 1
  Upstream Author : Enrico Tassi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://alioth.debian.org/projects/pkg-lua/
* License : MIT/X
  Programming Lang: make, bash
Description : lua5.1 policy for debian packages

This will include lua5.1-policy and lua5.1-policy-dev.

lua5.1-policy contains the policy (in txt and html format) that should
be followed by libraries for the lua5.1 scripting language.

lua5.1-policy-dev includes some template/support files (Like a generic
Makefile, a generic test application...) that are used by lua libraries
at compile time (so the will build-depend on it). It also includes a
simple script that sets up an svn directory conforming to
svn-buildpackage and populates it with the standard files needed to use
lua5.1-policy-dev at build time. Obviously packages made using
lua5.1-policy-dev will conform to the policy contained in lua5.1-policy.

An already working package can be found here:
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-lua/packages/policy/

And the following packages are all using this system:
http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-lua/packages/lua-logging/

http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-lua/packages/lua-curl/

I already offered to take over ITP ... but

Jaldhar is working on this ... he uploaded a seamonkey package a few
weeks ago, which was rejected because of too many lintian errors.

Jaldhar, can you please repost the svn url? I have lost it and cannot

nice if this was
included in Debian as well.

Bug#384745: .desktop issues

2006-08-26 Thread Vassilis Pandis
Package: qalculate-kde
Version: 0.9.3.1-1
Severity: wishlist

This is a bug originally reported at http://launchpad.net/bugs/49885 :

1. The .desktop file doesn't appear in the menus because it gets installed in
/usr/share/applnk/Utilities/qalculate_kde.desktop (it should be going in
/usr/share/applications )

2. It doesn't validate. I'm attaching a patch. I'm not certain why exactly it
doesn't validate
though, so take a look at it.

Thanks!

Bug#384729: Bug #384729: fvwm: segfaults at startup when Xlib does not like locale

2006-08-26 Thread Henning Makholm
tags 384729 + patch
thanks

I played around a bit more with my core file and found the cause of
the bug: The fix for #360418 assumes that FLCXOMCharsetList will
alway be valid at the end of FlocaleInit_X_Charset(), but in my
case the XOpenOM() call failed, so FLCXOMCharsetList was still NULL
when the new code tried to read FLCXOMCharsetList[0].

The attached patch seems to fix the problem for me, by reverting
to the upstream strategy of doing nothing if XOpenOM() or
XGetOMValues() fail. But I'm not completely sure what is supposed to
be going on here, so it is not necessarily the Right Fix.

Bug#305355: Some more informations

2006-08-26 Thread Thomas Petazzoni
Hi,

I'm also affected by the same problem: when going on the page
http://www.info-cybernetics.org/citsa2006 with Firefox, Xorg CPU
consumption goes crazy. It takes ~90% of the CPU, Firefox taking the
remaining 10%. And as Xorg is niced -10, all the other processes are
almost stopped.

I made some tests with various machines in order to try to find out
what's going on.

 * Computer 1:
   - Athlon XP 2000+, 256 MB RAM, nVidia nForce2 graphics
   - Running Firefox 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.1-2
   - Running Xorg 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 (yes, system is not uptodate)
   - Nvidia proprietary driver 1.0-8178

   Results:
   - with the free 'nv' driver, bug is reproducible
   - with the proprietary 'nvidia' driver, bug is not reproducible

 * Computer 2:
   - Athlon 64 2800+ (running 32bits Debian), 512 MB RAM,
 nForce3 graphics
   - Running Firefox 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.6-3
   - Running Xorg 7.0.23 and Xorg-video-nv 1.0.1.5-2
   - Nvidia proprietary driver 1.0-8774

   Results:
   - with the free 'nv' driver, bug is reproducible
   - with the proprietary 'nvidia' driver, bug is not reproducible

 * Computer 3:
   - Dell Latitude D410, Intel i915
   - Running Firefox 1.5.dfsg+1.5.0.6-1
   - Running Xorg 7.0.22 and Xorg-video-i810 1.5.1.0-2

   Results:
   - Bug is not reproducible

Conclusion: it seems that the bug is related to the video graphic
driver being used. Maybe Firefox, on some pages, uses intensively a
very CPU-consuming function of the 'nv' driver, while the same function
is correctly implemented in the 'nvidia' and 'i810' drivers.

If you need more informations, don't hesitate to ask.

Sincerly,

Thomas

Yes, I'll apply this patch.

The procedure to make AMD64 clients useful includes then the following steps,
right?

apt-get install libc6-i386
invokre-rc.d boinc-client stop
sed -i -e
's/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu<\/platform_name>/i686-pc-linux-gnu<\/platform_name>/'
 /var/lib/boinc-client/client_state.xml
invoke-rc.d boinc-client start

We'll need to document this in the boinc-client.README.Debian.

If that is the case, then there is either a bug in CryptoPP or a bug
in gcc, and ignoring that and not using the option is not the
solution. Please file a bug report about this.

I suppose you have your pins in /etc/bluetooth/passkeys/ as
documented in README.Debian, right?

Hello Curt,
this error message means that the package "apollon" include an incorrect
menu file.

I am not sure which version of apollon was installed on your system, but
I expect it to be 1.0.1-3 (due to the date of the report). In that case
this is likely a duplicate of bug #383383 which was fixed in apollon
1.0.1-4.

I will let the apollon maintainer closing it.

Thanks for your bug report,

Bug#381850: regina-rexx documentation re curses support

2006-08-26 Thread Don Swaner

The following additional info was forwarded to the maintainer:

The "bug" concerns only erroneous documentation: The description given
for regina-rexx, as seen in aptitude, says that the regina-rexx package
includes regina-rexx and "the external function package to interface to
curses library". However, the regina-rexx package does NOT include the
external function package to interface to the curses library. At one
time, regina-rexx did indeed include the curses interface. However it
no longer does. The external function package to interface to the curses
library is now in a separate package "rexx/curses", not currently
available from Debian, but available at Source Forge. Rexx/Curses
allows the rexx programmer to have full control over text windows, in
the manner of dialog or whiptail, but with finer control - essentially
making available to the rexx programmer all of the ncurses functions
available to the C programmer.

Hi David,

are you still willing to maintain kimdaba? I'd be glad to help, if you'd
eg. like a co-maintainer. I had a quick shot at packaging 2.2, and the
changes wrt. 2.1 were minimal.

Please reply at least something, so we know you're still active.

Thanks for your work on kimdaba and Debian,

Bug#384748: luks volume is mounted read only for normal user

Package: pmount

Mounting a luks volume using pmount as a normal user works. But
unfortunately the owner of the mounted partition is set to root:root.
So it is only possible to read files. Writing is not possible.

ll /media:
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2006-08-25 02:59 sdb1

Bug#384749: evince: Scrolling the display by clicking and dragging does not work

2006-08-26 Thread Dylan Thurston
Package: evince
Version: 0.4.0-2
Severity: minor

According to the manual, you should be able to scroll by clicking and dragging:

To display the page contents that are not currently displayed in the
display area, use the following methods:
...
 * Drag the display area in the opposite direction to the direction in
which you want to scroll. For example, to scroll down the page,
drag the display area upwards in the window.
...

This would be a nice feature, but it doesn't seem to work at all, in
any documents that I tried. On PDF documents, clicking and dragging
in the display area made some part of the text go white; is it trying
to make a selection and failing to do the highlighting? On other
documents, clicking and dragging had no visible effect. Please either
update the documentation or (preferably) reenable this feature.

Well, in the current state, it still requires a lot of work to split the
package in smaller parts like mozilla, and add transition packages. It
would also be necessary to port most of the patches from xulrunner to
make it work on all debian architectures.
BTW, I need to do some sorting on my patches in xulrunner, that would be
the occasion to prepare a list of patches to port to seamonkey.
