Bug#249634: cdrdao: simple fix for multiple FTBFS in scsilib

2005-11-05 Thread Andrew Suffield

And you could 'fix' most of the FTBFS bugs against perl by stopping it
from running the testsuite, but I don't think either of these things
is a very good idea. scsilib rarely works on new arches without being
updated. No.

The requirements for arches to be supported by cdrdao are the same as
always: get the thing on ftp-master and thusly into Debian where I can
see it. Otherwise it's just impractical.

Bug#337600: emacs-snapshot-gtk: isearch-forward fails to find any matches in cyrillic (UTF-8)

2005-11-05 Thread Kaloian Doganov
Package: emacs-snapshot-gtk
Version: 1:20051103-1
Severity: normal

When I visit an UTF-8 file with cyrillic text in it, and I try to do C-s
(isearch-forward) with cyrillic characters as argument, it fails when
there is actually a match in the buffer.

For example, if the buffer contains:

"*** 1. Да живей живей труда!"

then iserach-forward: труд fails with message "Failing isearch: труд".
Strangely, search-forward with "труд" argument succeeds when there is a
match in the same buffer, but isearch-forward fails.

The problem does not occur with digits, latin letters or special
characters. isearch-forward succeeds when searching for "1." in the
above example buffer.

I've tried with other environmens and noted the following:

1. emacs-snapshot with X widgets has the same behaviour as
emacs-snapshot-gtk (isearch-forward fails when it should not).

2. "emacs-snapshot -nw" in xterm works as expected.

Bug#309735: Debianization patch against upstream 1.2.0

2005-11-05 Thread Andrew Suffield
No way am I taking that patch, it's full of bugs claiming to be
features in a huge tangled diff. A good example of why randomly
applying patches does not make software better. Hint: if the bug
you're looking at is tagged 'wontfix' and includes an explanation why,
then 'fixing' it just shows that you can't read.

For the record, I'm sitting on this one until the next upstream
release, due shortly, because there are issues with rebuilding cdrdao
right now and I really can't see any point in backporting the fixes
just to get it in sid sooner.

Do you have libgnomecups1.0-1 and cupsys installed?

Does it happen with other GNOME packages, such as gedit?

Bug#337601: jamvm: Fail to run java version of World Wind (missing libjawt.so)

2005-11-05 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: jamvm
Version: 1.3.3-2

Jamvm fail to run the GIS tool World Wind. I get it working using SUN
Java by following this howto:

 1) download the JOGL and ww2d packages:

  wget http://download.berlios.de/ww2d/ww2d-0.99.86.zip
  wget http://download.berlios.de/ww2d/JOGL-Inst.jar

 2) unpack JOGL into separate directory (running the jar do not work,
as it assume root access and tries to copy files into locations
where I do not want to write new files).

  (mkdir JOGL-Inst && cd JOGL-Inst && jar -x < ../JOGL-Inst.jar)

 3) unpack the ww2d zip file

  unzip ww2d-0.99.86.zip

 4) make the jogl files available in this new directory. This is the
important trick to work around broken JOGL installer.

  (cd ww2d-0.99.86 && ln ../JOGL-Inst/jogl.jar .)
  (cd ww2d-0.99.86 && ln ../JOGL-Inst/libjogl.so .)

 5) run the program in the ww2d... directory while making sure the
dynamic linker find the libjogl.so file.

  cd LD_LIBRARY_PATH=`pwd` java -jar WW2D.jar

This give me a nice window with a map of the earth, and I can zoom in
to different areas of the world using Alt-up and Alt-down. :)

When I try to run it using jamvm, I get this exception instead:

Bug#330824: I dont believe this bug was acted on properly

2005-11-05 Thread Peter Samuelson

severity 330824 wishlist
retitle 330824 disagreement about example scripts
thanks

[micah]
> "BTW: Maybe you can move the example files to /u/s/d/s-tools/example/"

Thanks so much for not changing the severity there. I guess you
believe this is release-critical. I require a bit of convincing on
that score. I almost tagged this one wontfix just now, but I'll give
you a chance to rebut first.

> This did not happen with any of the example files with 1.2.3dfsg1-1,
> they all still appear in /usr/share/subversion/hook-scripts.

Many of the files there are usable in situ. Moved to the examples
directory, they wouldn't be (thanks to Policy about gzip). I'm not
interested in breaking people's repositories arbitrarily, which is what
would happen if people *are* using these things in situ. If I break
someone's repository with a svn upgrade I want to at least have a good
reason.

Splitting files that could be moved to the examples directory from the
ones that should be left in /usr/share/subversion would be a pointless
exercise in making files harder to find, in order to prove something
about filesystem organization. To use the script files that come with
"example config" files requires knowing where to find the latter.

> It seems to me that the hot-backup.py script should be restored to
> its original useful place (as a script that some backup programs
> use)

Did you read NEWS.Debian.gz?

The other script affected is /usr/lib/subversion/hot-backup.py, which
has now moved into /usr/share/doc/subversion/examples. It was never
a supported executable (or it would live in /usr/bin). It is also no
longer needed, because "svnadmin hotcopy" now includes the same
functionality. Please use "svnadmin hotcopy" instead.

Bug#336172: [PATCH] sysvinit off-by-one error

2005-11-05 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

I use version 2.86.ds1-1 in sarge, and do not see this issue with the
default init. How do I test if the problem exist? I've tried these
methods so far, based on the input from openvz bugzilla:

  % ps -fp 1
UIDPID PPID C STIME TTY TIME CMD
  root 1 0 0 Nov04 ?00:00:01 init [2]
  % cat /proc/1/cmdline ;echo
  init [2]
  %

The patch look sane, but I would like to verify that the problem is
fixed by it, and I am unable to do so.

Yes- no problem. I'm actually working away from home (where the printer
is) quite a bit at the moment but I'll be back on Monday and can test
then. Will you have a chance to upload it before then?

Can I ask where you will get the patch from? From the thread or CVS? It's
just that I think they have made changes subsequent to the patch posted in
that forum.

OK- thanks. I'll bear that in mind, in future. Couldn't find anything in
the bug reporting documentation about it and didn't want to tread on toes!

Many Thanks,
Andrew.

Not really, as sysv-rc-conf is a real package and not a virtual

behave the same.

Bug#336873: /etc/default/rcS is not listed by any package

2005-11-05 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

The file /etc/default/rcS is inserted by the initscrips package when
it is installed for the first time. As far as I know, there is no way
to report this relationship to dpkg without also getting upgrade
problems when the file is changed by the host administrator and the
package maintainers. This is a long-standing wishilst bug against
dpkg (#213907 and more).

We could add a comment at the top of the file documenting that it was
generated from the initscripts package. Would this be enough to make
you happy?

Bug#337607: initramfs-tools: Boot scripts tries to use evms_activate (and mdrun?), which isn't inside initrd.img

2005-11-05 Thread Tommi Vainikainen
Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.38
Severity: grave

Inside generated initrd.img /scripts/local-top/evms script tries to
execute /sbin/evms_activate. I don't use evms and I don't have evms
files installed on my computer, and probably related to this fact,
initrd.img does not contain /sbin/evms_activate and therefore booting
fails. Same is true with /scripts/local-top/md. Maybe same is true
with LVM, but vgchange gets installed to my initrd.img correctly
because I've lvm tools installed.

Bug#337608: aap: AAP cannot determine installation directory of itself.

2005-11-05 Thread Recai Oktas
Package: aap
Version: 1.072-1
Severity: important

Hi,

When trying to install AGIDE as per the instructions in the tutorial,
I've experienced a problem. Steps to reproduce it:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ aap --install agide
[...]
Aap: Error in recipe "/home/roktas/.aap/packages/agide/boot.aap"
line 35: Cannot determine installation directory of Aap.

And here is the relevant excerpt from boot.aap:

@dir = var2list(_no.AAP)
@if len(dir) < 2 or string.find(dir[1], "Exec") < 0:
:error Cannot determine installation directory of Aap.

(Probably, it searches the AAP directory under the PREFIX which was set
while building the package, e.g. /build/directory/debian/app/usr.)

I guess this problem is related to AAP's own recipe. The recipe should
accept a DESTDIR to separate the actual installation directory and the
_real_ PREFIX, so that in the debian/rules we can use something like
this:

$(MAKE) install DESTDIR=$(CURDIR)/debian/aap PREFIX=/usr SKIP_COMPILEALL=yes

instead of the current case which read as follows:

$(MAKE) install PREFIX=$(CURDIR)/debian/aap/usr SKIP_COMPILEALL=yes

These are just wild guesses, so please ignore them if wrong. I'm going
to investigate it in depth later.

Regards,

Bug#337610: BASIC error on saving a document

2005-11-05 Thread Martin Steigerwald
Package: openoffice.org-writer
Version: 2.0.0-2
Severity: normal

Hello, today I installed OpenOffice.org 2.0 on my Debian etch/sid
system. It works nicely, thanks for the great work.

But there is some glitch on saving OOWriter documents. It gives
two BASIC errors:

"Error loading BASIC of document
file:///usr/lib/openoffice/share/basic/WebWizard/script.xlb/:
General Error.
General input/output error."

"Error loading BASIC of document
file:///usr/lib/openoffice/share/basic/WebWizard/dialog.xlb/:
General Error.
General input/output error."

Well what this "general error" is trying to tell me is:
Those directories are not there. ;-) In fact I do not have a
/usr/lib/openoffice/share/basic/WebWizard/ directory on my
system at all.

Ah, I found the cause: Its some old stuff in
~/openoffice.org2. I used a Klik package of a pre-version of
OpenOffice.org 2 before.

After rm -rf .openoffice.org2/ saving OOWriter document works
as expected.

I am still reporting this as other users having used a OOo 2 klik
package or some other OOo 2 installation before, might have
the same problem. Maybe a readme or probably even a debconf
warning message (at least on install, not on upgrade) should
mention that such problems may happen when
non-debian-official OOo 2 was installed before.

Anyway when its just my previous setup and no one else complains
feel free to close the bug. ;)

Regards, Martin Steigerwald

Bug#337611: xserver-xorg: This may be related to a locally-modified xorg.conf

2005-11-05 Thread Huub Reuver
Package: xserver-xorg

Same problem here with a little addition. Not only is the message repeated

If one can test if the config-file won't be updated should not the message
be a warning which does not need any interactive response in the first

It is the difference between a interactive and a non-interactive upgrade.
People who tweak their xorg.conf will be seearching the /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Bug#337613: sets WRONG dependency on kernel image for no reason

2005-11-05 Thread Eduard Bloch
Package: linux-wlan-ng-source
Version: 0.2.2+dfsg-3
Severity: grave

Hello,

I have just pointed by a user on your "solution" WRT kernel dependency
in debian/control.modules.in and I must admit: IT SUCKS.

 - there is no point in setting a such dependency. People can install
their custom kernels without make-kpkg. RTF Kernel-Howto please.
 - constructing "linux-" or "kernel-" is pretty stupid, sorry. You
cannot assume anything, because this applies to debian-kernel
   prebuilt versions ONLY.

Please remove this dependency information or move it to Suggests or so.

Eduard.

I do not know. I use emacs-snapshot from the begginig when it appeared
in unstable, but usualy I do isearch-forward when working with
programming code which contains mostly charactes from the US-ASCII set.

For sure it doesn't worked with the previous snapshot a week ago.

Previously, gst-register-0.8 was called without the "GST_REGISTRY"
environment, and that caused some spurious files to be written to
 /root/.gstreamer-0.8.

I noticed this bug by cheer luck, and all system ever having a
gstreamer package installed (be it 0.6 or 0.8) had some spurious
directories. Hence, I decided to fix the problem and try removing as
much cruft as possible, so all packages where the fix appeared saw the
addition of code to detect whether the file was automatically
 generated.

As you can see, the script is very cautious about removing a file with
the exact same contents as one generated by the package, and only
 removes the directory if empty.

If you think something else should have been done, please suggest what.

   Bye,

Bug#325664: KDE menus should be hidden by default

2005-11-05 Thread Milan

Package: gnome-menus
Version: 2.10.2-1
Severity: normal

Gnome 2.10 in Debian includes KDE menu entries in its menu, and I think
it's a bad idea. Menus were clean and usable in Gnome 2.8 because there
were only a few programs designed for GNOME. This was contrasting with
MS Windows, where the Start menu is not usable at all, because of too
many entries. This was really a good point for GNOME, Debian and Linux.

Now, the GNOME menu is just a pool including many uneeded programs, and
you need to add a link on the panel for each program you use. So I would
suggest something : an option should allow to include KDE programs if
you want, but the default should be (as it used to be) just showing
GNOME-integrated programs.

Thanks

please consider not using CONFIG_MODVERSIONS in future. Reason: it makes

unpossible. Current example: ipw2200, which is contained in 2.6.14 in a
very old version. I cannot load the new version because lots of errors
about conflicting versions are detected (in dependent ieee82... modules
which I have built as well).

Thanks a lot for this explanation. I understand the behaviour of tar
now. I also agree it makes sense to follow POSIX, even though I
personally think it's weird that POSIX would allow for something like
"-tvb20".

Thanks. I don't know if "gnome-keyboard-properties fails when trying
to re-select the french layout" matches the bug at
 , but it looks
awfully similar. IMO, the X server should always respond to a
XkbGetKeyboard(), and the fact it isn't causes the crash to happen. I
suppose your new X server is causing that, and I propose you try
downgrading the X server to unstable's version to check whether that
solves the problem. If it does I'll reassign the issue to Xorg.

Bug#337608: aap: AAP cannot determine installation directory of itself.

2005-11-05 Thread Recai Oktas
Hi,

Sorry, the guesses above are just plain wrong. The var2list(_no.AAP)
statement returns the "/usr/lib/app" directory as it should be. My
guess was based on the presence of a wrong line in the aap(1) "FILES"
section:

FILES
   /tmp/aap/aap-1.072/debian/aap/usr/lib/aap/Exec-1.072/doc/*.html
  The aap documentation in HTML.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Bug#337616: gw-config returns broken flags

2005-11-05 Thread Loic Minier
Package: kannel-dev
Version: 1.4.0-16
Severity: important

Hi,

It's been a while I wanted to look into this bug, but I prefer pushing
the information here before I forget it:
 bee% gw-config --cflags
 -I/tmp/buildd/kannel-1.4.0/debian/tmp/usr/include/kannel
 -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=600 -D_BSD_SOURCE -I/usr/include/libxml2 -I/usr/include
 -I'/usr/include/mysql'
 bee% gw-config --libs
 -L/tmp/buildd/kannel-1.4.0/debian/tmp/usr/lib/kannel -lwap -lgwlib
-lssl -ldl -lpam -lrt -lresolv -lnsl -lm -lpthread -L/usr/lib -lxml2
-lz -lm -L/usr/lib -lcrypto -lssl -L'/usr/lib' -lmysqlclient -lz
 -lcrypt -lnsl -lm

gw-config is hence slightly unusable :)

I workaround that in Mbuni by using:
CFLAGS += -L/usr/lib/kannel -I/usr/include/kannel

I suppose the bug is in the installation process, possibly such lines
 are the cause:
 $(MAKE) install prefix=$(CURDIR)/debian/tmp/usr

You should use $(MAKE) install DESTDIR=$(CURDIR)/debian/tmp/
 instead.

   Cheers,

I'm happy to prepare a new package, but isn't it still going to be
unusable 'as is' with the current libfreetype bug? #314385.

Should we prepare a recompiled gnustep-back? Or that not desirable for
some reason?

Bug#337618: classpath-tools leaves dangling symlinks after removing

2005-11-05 Thread Simo Kauppi
Package: classpath-tools
Version: 0.0.20020812-1
Severity: minor

After removing classpath-tools, the symlinks in /etc/alternatives/
/usr/share/man/man1/ and /usr/bin/ are left dangling.

The prerm script has a line:
   update-alternatives --remove $one /usr/bin/cp-$one
which, I think, should be:
   update-alternatives --remove $one /usr/bin/$one-cp

Also, the postinst script creates an alternative /usr/bin/javadoc, which
is also in the gjdoc package . The classpath-tools prerm script doesn't
have `update-alternatives --remove javadoc /usr/bin/gjdoc`
and the javadoc is left dangling.

Bug#337620: -np requires / at end of dir, otherwise it downloads hierarchy too much

2005-11-05 Thread Martin Michlmayr
Package: wget
Version: 1.10.2-1
Severity: normal

When I use wget -r -np http://example.com/foo/bar/ it will only
download stuff in "bar" in below, but if I strip away the slash at the
end, it will also download everything in "foo". I think this is
against what users expect - wget should look at the final location of
the URL given by the user (i.e. .../foo/bar/index.html and then take
the last dir).

Why not then simply raise the severity of that other bug? Done now,

Bug#322239: mozilla-firefox: [patch] incorrectly set LD_LIBRARY_PATH in /usr/bin/firefox wrapper

2005-11-05 Thread Vincent McIntyre
Package: mozilla-firefox
Version: 1.0.4-2sarge5
Followup-For: Bug #322239

Hi

I think I am seeing this too. It was reported in #316824 (for 'mozilla')
but I did not cross-report to 'mozilla-firefox'.
The patch below should fix the issue, see #316824 for why I think
it fixes it.

PLEASE can you apply this to the sarge version as well, it is most
annoying to have to continually repatch something like this as other
updates are rolled out.

Unfortunately the 'mozilla' maintainer did not notice or ignored my
request on that count.
Should I file another bug for 'mozilla', against the sarge version?

Well, you could just subtly modifythe name or something, and do a diversion,
not sure. The pwc module maintainer does exactly that, and has no such
problem.

Err, _why_ do you get different symbol versions? They are supposed to be
stable.

How should I know? I have even removed all the kernel equivalents and
kept only custom versions of ieee8* and ipw22* modules, did rmmod and

Bug#252101: ITP: gromacs -- versatile package to perform molecular dynamics

2005-11-05 Thread Michael Banck
Hi,

I took a look at your gromacs package as I accidently found the ITP.
I've been trying to package gromacs for a couple of years now, so I am
glad I checked before just uploading something :)

Anyway, I played around with your package a bit and got some questions:

1. Did you consider putting the changes you do to upstream into seperate
patches, maintained in a debian/patches directory via a patch-system
like dpatch or quilt?

2. When you modify configure, why do you not change configure.in
accordingly? I believe we should rather patch configure.in and
regenerate configure (possibly removing unneeded noise in the diff).
Did you consider sending your modifications upstream, possible making
them more generic (like ${MPI_LIBSUFFIX})

3. Did you consider making a gromacs-doc package including the manual?
I think it bloats up the Debian diff rather considerably. Alos, you got
the manual from www.gromacs.org, right? Did you clarify whether the
copyright is the same as for the program or something else?

4. Finally, would you consider maintaining gromacs as part of a
hopefully-soon-to-be-started Debian-chemistry-packaging-team effort from
svn.debian.org? Are you a Debian Developer? If not, do you need
sponsoring?

cheers,

Michael

Bug#306951: Bug solved (seems)

2005-11-05 Thread Marcello Maggioni
A fix has been made for this bug from Jonathan Riddell .

You can find the bug report at this link :
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61850

The cause seems to be :
"
--- Additional Comment #52 From Stan Bobar 2005-10-01 18:57 ---
I have had this problem for quite awhile also. After reading through
the list above and following some of the leads you guys provided I
think I have found the source of this problem. If I run kcontoledit as
suggested above then everyting works fine, I can log in and out to KDM
and still go to Administrator mode no problem. However everytime I
reboot the system Administrator mode fails. So after tracing what file
get changed by doing the save with kcontroledit I noticed that there
are two copies of ksycoca. One in /var/tmp/kdecache-(username) and
another in /tmp/kde-(username). On my system I have a bootscript that
cleans out /tmp/ on every boot removing the later file. So I restarted
the system copied the file from /var/tmp/kdecache-(username) to
/tmp/kde-(username) and tried to log in to Administrator mode and
viola it works.
For my solution I simply altered my boot script not to clean out /tmp/.
Looks like if kcontrol can't find the file ksycoca in
/tmp/kde-(username) it just bails out.
"

Link to the patch :

I hope that finally this boring bug is solved.

Yes, I agree. The proper implementation should be to fork a child, and
the child sets a timeout of something approximating the amount of time
in between checks (so that you don't have two children trying to update
the database simultaneously). Then an alarm could just kill of the
stuck process.

I will look into it. Thanks for the report,

When you say xprint segfaults, do you mean that Xprt is no longer
running afterwards (no output from "ps aux | grep [X]prt") ?

If that is the case, you could possibly pin it down further by running
Xprt by hand under strace or gdb (although I think I've stripped out the
symbols so the gdb backtrace would only have limited information unless
we use an unstripped version). To get the command line options Xprt
needs, just copy the normal version you get from the ps command above
(when Xprt is still running).

Does the segfault happen equally when you print to file (or use
ps_spooldir or pdf_spooldir to ~/Xprintjobs) ?

Hi Karsten,

thank you for your bug report and your interest in libchipcard.

Karsten Hilbert wrote:

This is a known issue and a result of upstream trying to balance easy
access to debug information for support with not flooding people with
messages. As such, I'm a bit reluctant to pull the messages without
upstream's consent even though I acknowledge that they're at least
semi-annoying once everything's working smoothly.

Kind regards

T.

BTW: I see that you are using testing packages, presumedly on a stable
system. Even though all packages have worked for me when I uploaded
them, they are out of date as AqBanking is still rather heavily
developed. For stable I do recommend the packages of AqBanking family
(co-)maintainer Micha Lenk at
  deb http://www.stud.uni-karlsruhe.de/~uinx/debian/stable/ ./
while for testing I recommend switching to the unstable packages.

Sorry, i am not very self-confident about how to build QT applications.

Was Xxf86vm supported in Qt3?, in that case, does it make sense to
include it in qt3support for Qt4 (through /usr/lib/libQt3Support.prl)?

If it were not supported in Qt3 or it doesn't correspond in Qt4 to
maintain this support, please close this bug (or i can close it), and
i will report the application author to modify the .pro to include
your suggestion (which probably i will do in any case).

Thank you very much.

Okay, so you build ipw2200 against the symbol versions of the ieee80211
module included in the kernel from
/lib/modules/$(uname -r)/source/Module.symvers. It seems that kbuild
needs an option to disable versions for external modules.

Bug#337628: schroot: Session recovery fails at startup

2005-11-05 Thread Roger Leigh
Package: schroot
Version: 0.1.7-1
Severity: normal

The init script fails with a message:

Recovering schroot sessions... can't get supplementary groups: Success

Logging in as root and running

  # /etc/init.d/schroot start

prints:

  Recovering schroot sessions... sid-snap-ca3a40ec-06fe-48f3-b405-c8f80ccf8461,
done.

It's not clear what the difference is between the supplementary groups
set during init script execution and when logged in as root. It looks
like PID 1 doesn't have any supplementary groups, even GID 0, but does
this also apply to init scripts?

That's very good. Regarding my patch, I thought about it and there is
one change I would rather revert: The change from calling fmtutil to
fmtutil-sys. We have temporarily introduced a backward-compatibility
hack, so that fmtutil will continue to work for a while. On the other
hand, fmtutil-sys is not available in the teTeX version in testing.

I suggest to stay with plain fmtutil, let xmltex (and all other packages
that needed fixes for teTeX-3.0) migrate to testing, and then I'll
remove tetex-base's dummy bug and let itself go into testing.

Bug#337627: false positive with "contains a libdir which is different to its path"

2005-11-05 Thread Peter Eisentraut
Package: linda
Version: 0.3.16

Building a new version of the licq package I get a linda warning like this:

W: licq-plugin-console; The .la file /usr/lib/licq/licq_console.la contains a
libdir which is different to its path.
The .la file shown above contains a line libdir=''. This
should be set to the directory that the .la file exists in, not where
 the .la file was built.

The file debian/licq-plugin-console/usr/lib/licq/licq_console.la contains
this:

# Directory that this library needs to be installed in:
libdir='/usr/lib/licq/'

So I'm confused about why it's complaining.

Sounds like you had initramfs-tools and not yaird installed at the time
of initially installing the kernel.

Reassigning to initramfs-tools.

Yes, this has been fixed with most recent version of yaird.

If this is fixed in recent initramfs-tools as well, I believe this bug

Bug#331060: Bug#336696: Mondo Rescue crashes -*** glibc detected ***- free() invalid next size (fast): 0x08086870 ***

2005-11-05 Thread Thomas Debost

Hi Andree,

Thanks for getting back to me

this is my first bug report and I m not very familiar with source level
testing so here 's what I've just done.

- purged mondo
aptitude purge mondo
- fetched mondo srcs
apt-get source modno
- downloaded you patch and applied it
cd mondo-2.04/mondo/common ; patch -p0 ../../../my-stuff.h.diff
- built package :
cd ../../ && dpkg-buildpackage
- installed :
dpkg -i ../mondo_2.04-7_i386.deb
- tested :
---
mondoarchive \
-O \
-V \
-K 10 \
-I "/" \
-E "/media /mnt /tmp /proc /sys /var/tmp /var/cache/apt/archives" \
-r \
-s 4380m \
-d /media/tomdeb/storage/mondo/server/ \
-k FAILSAFE \
-7 \
-F \
-T /home/tmp
-S /home/tmp
-
...
Everything appears to be fine
Data archived OK
Mondoarchive ran OK

Everything worked !

Thanks for this !

Hi Thomas

Thank you for reporting this issue.

I believe it is the same as #331060 to which I've just added a patch
that implements a workaround until the problem is properly fixed
upstream.

Would you be in a position to test the patch and let me know the
outcome?

Thanks a lot & best regards
Andree

The error appears in the middle of the ncurses interface.

I tried this on a more stripped down stable install of my gateway/router
amd it works fine.

I am using Debian GNU/Linux Testing, kernel 2.6.8-2 and libc6 2.3.5-6

Hope this helps

When i lock the screen (by xscreensaver), after a random time, when I
unlock it, the system freeze. I must restart xserver-xorg by an other
computer - ssh connection -

I've tried to reproduce this bug but it freeze after random time.

This bug appears since I've update the xlibmesa-gl package. May be it's
a bug of compatibilty with my fglrx packages (which also contains a

Bug#314426: splash screen can't be disabled by user yet?

2005-11-05 Thread Tim Connors
I see that in /etc/openoffice/sofficerc I can still set Logo=1 in
[Bootstrap].

One half of what I asked for in the original bug report was that the user
can disable the splash screen, rather than having to rely on the
system-wide settings that they not have any control over. There still
doesn't appear to be a setting for the user to disable the splash screen,
say in Tools->Options.
