Adam, I tried to Cc: you on this response, but your mail server rejected
the message:
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

  ad...@zombino.com
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
host mail.galsoft.net [88.198.34.156]: 554 5.7.0 Reject, id=01321-13 -
spam

and reviewing the message made me realize that I omitted the URL of the
debian bug report I was referring to:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=702729

I don't know whether this message will reach you either, but hey, I
tried.

Thanks, found the bug report with the patch. #702729. I'll see if I
can build this.

Based on the report, the patch would be added to Debian's valgrind if
any of the following happens,

 1. someone maintains it for Debian as rebased patch in valgrind's
collab-maint git repository as separate branch, or

 2. it's incorporated upstream
