2007-01-28 Thread Wasfi JAOUAD
Weekly media builds : 2.6.17-2-486
Daily media builds : 2.6.18-3-486
When will they be the same again ?

Well, I tried. It didn't go far : base system could not be installed.
I learned the exact message by heart, but after 3 hours fighting with
netcourrier.com
which was on vacation today, I forgot it. Bottom line : iso image on the USB
stick
could not be found/mounted.
Then I couldn't mount any partition of my disks so I have no dmseg or lspci
output to offer :-(
In /var/log/syslog I saw something like : hw-detect : no ide/flopppy/.. found.
Bad.

It seems there is no 2.6 kernel in the image, maybe it could make things better
if it was there..
Any further testing I can do ?

I must ;-) Binaries I downloaded this morning behaved exactly the same way
(grub not found).

Thank you Geert for your follow up.

PS1 : Yes it's me ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) !!
netcourrier.com was down today and still is now :-( so I couldn't send
this this morning
(actually www.netcourrier.com desappeared from public DNS, maybe the server is
up, but without
knowing it's IP @, it won't be reachable).

PS2: I see my answers are landing out of order on my thread on Debian Mailing
Lists server. Does
somebody know how to configure In-Reply-To field with Yahoo (for example) ?

2006-05-14 Thread Wasfi JAOUAD
Well, it's ok with the i386 version of the installer, but the AMD64 one still
says :

   !! install the base system
   Cannot install the base system
The installer connot figure out how to install the base system. No installable
CD-ROM
was found and no valid miroor was configured.
(with a scary red background ;-)

Or you mean the fix will automatically be appiled to AMD64 d-i ?
Actually Joey's fix dealt with not finding packages inside ISOs, here the ISO
itself
was not found.. hopefully it fixes both..

Full logs of a try with latest binaries from amd64.debian.net are attached.

[amd64][hd-media] Mouse is un-movable

2006-08-20 Thread Wasfi JAOUAD
Hi,
I just tried the 2006-08-20 boot.img to install AMD64 Debian from an USB stick
in expertgui mode.
My USB mouse light was on (so somehow detected I guess) but I couldn't move the
cursor on the
screen.
It's a very standard Logitech rodent..
Strange since my USB optical NGS Slim Kit keybord (far less common) was
detected and worked
perfectly..
Pb detecting and using two USB inputs at install time ?
