Bug#823599: task-polish-desktop: Please add firefox-l10n-pl to package recommendations
Package: task-polish-desktop Version: 3.34 Severity: wishlist Tags: l10n Dear Maintainer, task-polish-desktop recommends iceweasel-l10n-pl, which depends on firefox-esr-l10n-pl. So if one wanted to install non-esr firefox (and firefox-l10n-pl), while installing also task-polish-desktop, he may end up having both firefox and firefox-esr installed. Bug#823605: Please add firefox to task-{gnome, kde, lxde, mate, xfce}-desktop recommendations
Package: task-gnome-desktop Version: 3.34 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer, Packages: task-{gnome,kde,lxde,mate,xfce}-desktop have iceweasel in their recommendations. As iceweasel depends on firefox-esr, such recommendation may be inconvenient for non-esr firefox users, because it may result in both firefox and firefox-esr installed. Can you change that recommendation to something like 'either firefox or firefox-esr'? -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (800, 'testing'), (400, 'unstable'), (20, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.5.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=pl_PL.utf8, LC_CTYPE=pl_PL.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to pl_PL.utf8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages task-gnome-desktop depends on: ii gnome-core1:3.14+4 ii task-desktop 3.34 ii tasksel 3.34 Versions of packages task-gnome-desktop recommends: ii gimp2.8.16-1+b1 ii gnome 1:3.14+4 ii hunspell-en-us 20070829-6 pn hyphen-en-us pn iceweasel ii libreoffice 1:5.1.2-3 ii libreoffice-evolution 1:5.1.2-3 ii libreoffice-gnome 1:5.1.2-3 ii libreoffice-help-en-us 1:5.1.2-3 pn mythes-en-us ii network-manager-gnome 1.2.0-2 pn synaptic task-gnome-desktop suggests no packages. -- no debconf information

AFAIK Phil has submitted a proposal for an event to present his work on http://46.16.73.145:8080/job/lvc_debian-8.4.0/99/console which shall replace https://jenkins.debian.net/view/g-i-installation/ once it's ready and also provide easy means to automatically test images build with packages made from specific branches. Simple put: one puts commits in a branch bug/123456 and then jenkins will build all needed d-i packages which have such branches, then build a d-i image and test that. (That's the long term goal. Short term is rather testing images builds on petterson.) I'll be in Cape Town but my d-i involvement will stay limited to (co-)maintaining jenkins tests for it. -- cheers, Holger signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#823612: rescue-mode should mount /boot/efi if it's available
Package: rescue-mode Version: 1.51 Severity: important If somebody is trying to debug EFI boot problems, it's quite confusing for people that /boot/efi is not mounted automatically. What makes this even worse is that /etc/mtab will be outdated and /boot/efi will therefore *appear* to be mounted using df, mount, etc. That's a separate bug, though... -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.4 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system)

If it's possible, I'd like to join someone's talk on d-i, and introduce my work on GNU/screen support and maybe it's future. GNU/screen is already adopted by many users for years, so it's not rocket science, so it will just have 4-5 slides and 5 minutes is enough. This is my first visit to DebConf.
