Bug#759657: console-setup w/ systemd forgets font setting

Hello again,
I also tried the solution proposed [1] by Michael Biebl:

  $ cat /etc/udev/rules.d/90-setupcon.rules
  ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="vtconsole", KERNEL=="vtcon*", RUN+="/bin/setupcon"

and it works for me too. After boot, I get my console configuration
without having to manually issue the setupcon command!

[1] https://bugs.debian.org/759657#77

I think that package console-setup should ship such file as
/lib/udev/rules.d/90-setupcon.rules

Please add this file to the package in order to fix this annoying issue.
Thanks for your time!

Bye.

Fwd: Bug#809788: Does not appear relevant to Debian

2016-01-05 Thread Philipp Kern
There is nothing to add to Lennart's reply, which didn't go to the list.
Closing the bug report, as there's nothing that affects Debian at this
point.

Kind regards and thanks
Philipp Kern

The package is a Ubuntu version, and does not even exist in Debian.
The -signed package is probably secureboot related, which as far as I
know Debian has no support for at this time.

And of course in BIOS mode secureboot does not apply and non efi grub
is used, so it is very very different.

So the bug report to Ubuntu makes sense, while the one to Debian does
not since there is no such package.

Package: grub-installer
Version: 2.02~beta2-32ubuntu1

When I try to install the Ubuntu Xenial desktop dailylive image from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/
I can't finish the installation in UEFI mode. It will fail with the
following error message:

The 'grub-efi-amd64-signed' package failed to install into /target/.
Without GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot.

And there is only an "OK" button on the dialog, after pressing it, it
will report that the installer has crashed, and direct me to the bug
report page.

This issue does not exist in Legacy BIOS mode.

Sorry, but I'm pretty sure pinging people after a whooping 3-day delay
is not going to get your patches reviewed quicker.

Uh. It seems I had made some assumption about how language gets
selected which were wrong, and I had tested various languages which were
not working before, but not french, which was working.

This time (-23 upload) I have checked that all supported languages do
work fine, and the difference between fr-fr and fr-be.

Thanks for the test,
