Re: d-i talk at mini DebConf Lyon 2015
Le 14/04/2015 16:20, Cyril Brulebois a écrit : Christian PERRIER (2015-04-14): Quoting Cyril Brulebois (k...@debian.org): Hi people, I've just given a lightning talk about d-i at the mini DebConf in Lyon. You can find the slides here: https://people.debian.org/~kibi/talks/2015-04-12-Lyon-mini-DebConf--lightning-talk.pdf Hey, thanks for the call for help...:-) Of course, as already said, I'll happily help anyone who would feel interested in pushing again to the wonderful world of 100%. As said, I don't intend to entirely step down: I'm still monitoring how things are going and how the various sync scripts are doing their job, of course I'm also doing the "upload fast" job, etc. Sure. Speaking of which, do we know why partman-crypto's latest changes aren't showing up in translations.txt (which is updated on a regular manner, as the two packages I uploaded some hours ago disappeared from there)? Yes, I know why. The Kazakh translation file has a PO-Revision-date as of April 2nd. However, the last released version of partman-crypto is dated April 5th. Because the Kazakh l10n coordinator had trouble committing to SVN (he asked for help in -i18n and I suggested him this was probably because of an outdated SSSH host key for alioth in his authorized_keys file.which solved the problem).he committed the Kazakh update on April 8th or 9th. This is indeed an inconvenience of the scripts that generate the translations.txt file : they're based on the file's PO-Revision-Date, not on the date the file was really committed. To "fix" this, we need to do another upload of -cryptoI'm working on it. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? I currently assume > it's console-setup, also because it's a heavy debconf user. Hence > reassigning. This has happened to me with the upgrade to console-setup (1.121) and after a bit of head scratching, I've narrowed down the cause to the fact that scroll lock was active on tty1. This blocked setupcon (which is invoked by the postinst, which itself was a zombie) when trying to write to /dev/tty1. I'm not sure where this could be made more resilient; it was an error on our part to have scroll lock enabled on the console (assuming it was an accidental keypress that caused that state and not some other software bug). Gordon, does that by any chance explain things for you too? Cheers, Dominic. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Bug#782574: installation-reports: d-i does not boot on beaglebone black

So I've been thinking about this for a while and I'm not too happy about possibly rushing these changes at this point. What could be considered instead is having these changes staged into unstable, let them migrate to testing/stretch when the freeze is lifted, and possibly backport them in to the jessie first point release. A workaround can be documented in the D-I Jessie RC3 errata. Would that seem reasonable to all people involved? Mraw, KiBi. signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#782673: installation-guide: doesn't notice errors within the for loop
Source: installation-guide Version: 20150323 Severity: important Hi, as noted while discussing with Mattia Rizzolo: an individual failure (e.g. ppc64el / cs / pdf as of r69765) doesn't trigger an FTBFS, so a “debuild -b” on a multicore machine might lead to believe everything is OK while some files (e.g. ./debian/manual/ppc64el/cs/install.cs.pdf) are missing. Samuel mentioned errors aren't recorded in the for loop, and have that bug report on his todolist.
