Installation was done using a network mirror; network connectivity was provided via a TP-Link TL-WN727N 802.11n WLAN dongle (USB ID: 148f:5370, Ralink RT5370 chipset). The installer prompted for the WLAN dongle's firmware, which was provided on a USB stick (downloaded from http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/unofficial/non-free/firmware/wheezy/current/). Basic X11 functionality worked out of the box, advanced X11 features (in particular XVideo support) required installation of the non-free radeon firmware from the package firmware-linux-nonfree. A sidenote: while the WLAN via the TL-WN727N generally works, interactive use (in particular using logins via ssh) shows that the connection often has short lags or hangs. This happens even when the WLAN dongle is within 2m of the access point with direct line of sight. Regards, Karsten -- Gem.
