Recent commit storms in d-i GIT repos
Hello folks, I would like to apologize for the recent commit storms of the last 3 nights in D-I git repository. It appears that the Sinhala translator committed an update for sublevel 5 file that actually was incorrect (duplicate string). A side effect of this is that the l10n daily script synchronized all other sublevels for this language from complete files toempty files. And, then, as another side effect, this propagated to all packages that have translatable debconf strings; with one "updated" si.po file for each of them. After noticing this, I fixed the Sinhala translations and, then, the nights that followed, the changes repropagated back to packages. To add more hassle, I unfortunately did this only partially the first time because I was in a hurry to leave for workso it took two nights for everything to be properly settled. I plan to try to find a way to avoid this to happen: in case a PO file in packages/po/sublevel{1-5] fails gettext checks, then don't propagate the error to other sublevels and don't sync packages. -- signature.asc Description: Digital signature

It does so based on Priority, plus some special cases. There would not be much duplication involved in copying the package-list into linux-2.6, since kfreebsd only uses 8 entries from that so far. And beyond the odd module udeb name that might be hardcoded into d-i and needs to be the same across linux and kfreebsd, there seems to be only benefit in untangling the two kernels' package-list files. > I was considering changing kernel-wedge to support a KW_DEFCONFIG_DIR > variable, similar to the KW_CONFIG_DIR variable, that would affect where > all of these files are looked for. I don't see why this is necessary. If /usr/share/kernel-wedge/package-list does not exist or is empty, kernel-wedge should still use the package-list file from the linux-2.6 source package, and that's the right place to list all the module udebs. -- see shy jo signature.asc Description: Digital signature

partman on standard system
Hi all.. to put in context: i'm using FAI - Fully automated install, this application let us install Debian over network whitout interaction, but in some cases i need to define the partitions, so i think to use the partman. my question is how difficult colud be implement parted on starndard systems? (fai mount a root via nfs to get work) i tried to build a deb packages but i saw that it have a lot of dependeces, i don't know if some dependency could be ommited.. thanks a lot, greetings, Aldo.
