Package: debian-installer
Version: 20090123lenny1

As far as I could tell the current version only supports WEP. I managed
to make wpa_supplicant work by copying the utilities and required
libraries onto the usb stick and calling it from the shell, after
loading the aes_generic.ko module. So it should be possible to package
this nicely in an udeb?

Package: Debian installer

My wireless access point work with hidden SSID and WPA2 encryption.
So, to install Debian from USB stick I must look for ethernet cable to
set the graphical environment GNOME :(
I would not have this problem if Debian installer allows to configure
my wireless network with WPA2 encryption.

I am using Debian GNU/Linux 6 testing, kernel 2.6.38-2-686-bigmem

Done. I'm just about to commit the patch from
<1312037866.3786.38.ca...@dagon.hellion.org.uk> to finish-install.

Ian.

Wheezy installation went fine on G3 Mac

2011-07-31 Thread Jeroen Diederen
I used the latest wheezy netinstaller of 31.07.2011. A lot of stuff was
fixed. It now recognizes my USB stick as 'CDROM' and installation was
successful. I did not see any errors.

The installation was a standard installation with "install" as option
and just a base system.

I will do some more testing in the coming time to see whether it can run
fine with a preseed.cfg file.

Good work everybody !

Regards,
Jeroen

Reworked ZFS support in D-I, testers wanted

I think you'll be interested in:

partman-zfs (8) unstable; urgency=low

  * Redesign ZFS pool management (mostly based on partman-lvm). New
features include:
- Support for ZFS pools with multiple physical devices.
- Support for multiple filesystems within a ZFS pool.
- Support for legacy filesystems using ZFS volumes (ZVOL).
- Arbitrary names for ZFS pools, filesystems and ZVOLs.

which has just been uploaded to unstable.

Please test!

I know about the write cache issue, but I'm not sure how can this fit
into partman's workflow. AFAIK partman always wants a partition
label. This might require changes to other parts of D-I.

Bug#636162: busybox-syslogd: it doesn't start on hurd

2011-07-31 Thread Gabriele Giacone
Package: busybox-syslogd
Version: 1:1.18.5-1
Severity: normal

On hurd, syslogd (busybox) process doesn't start with -C128 option (didn't
investigate further) and init scripts check if running by looking for klogd and
syslogd basenames in /proc/[0-9]*/stat files whereas on hurd there are fullnames
in such files. Attached patch points that out.

-- System Information:
Debian Release: wheezy/sid
  APT prefers unstable

FYI, aspell-kk uploaded to the squeeze-backports [1].
