Bug#524342: Ubuntu possible duplicate?
This bug is realy much deeper. Follow this steps: 1) upslug your nslu2 with debian lenny 5.0.2 2) Attach 2 usb keys (in my case with 16GB each one) 3) start the debian-installer in expert mode and try to make a partition for RAID 1 in each usb key and then pass to configure the this partition. Mark as / and RAID 1. 4) The d-i restarts. Any expert could reproduce this bug? Xan. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Bug#535555: debian-installer: ext4 partition can't mout
Package: debian-installer Version: 20090123lenny1 There is option in Debian installer to format partition in ext4 file system. It's ok, but when system rebooted it can't mount and at the end system doesn't work. I think it's because squeezy still have 2.6.26 kernel without ext4 support. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-boot-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Virtual appliance 1st run configuration
Hi, I'm working on a Debian based system in vmWare ESX. All is going great and I find myself at the point that I would like to create a real virtual appliance. Ideally, at 1st boot the following shoud happen: 1) boot with network disabled to prevent any conflicts (this is how the appliance is shipped out) 2) At the end of the boot process a script located in in /etc/init.d checks if this appliance has been configured. If this is not the case, present the user with the option to (re)configure the hostname, network, timezone, root password and so on. All of the things that need reconfiguring are normally done during install and I was wondering if it is possible to leverage the work already done by the debian-installer team for this task. Regards, Nico

Bug#535444: rootcause found
Hello, I just investigated some time on this issue and found out (by calling find-partitions manually) that its linked against /lib/libparted-1.8.so.10, although (by accident?) that build of squeeze in question contains libparted-1.8-12 from sid. After temp-fixing/hacking the issue with a simple symlink the configuration of the software raid went fine. regards, Patrick #adBox3 {display:none;}
