Excellent, thanks for the test.

It'll become part of the standard package; expect it to be included in
the next update.

Yeah, we are preparing for a new release of DzongkhaLinux. So building
some packages and reading loads of docs.

Re: How about playing a game while installing Debian?

If we had a livecd-based installer, the user could play a regular game at the
same time as the installer process ran, from the livecd environment. Then we
just need to work out what would be reasonable to fit into the livecd
environment. This is where Ubuntu are afaik.

Obviously Debian should not be exclusively livecd-installer based as this is
only applicable to a single (or a small number) of hardware configurations and
usage scenarios. But I think in many cases this set coincides with those where
playing games would be useful (I.e. you aren't going to play games during a FAI
install, are you?)

Hello I have downloaded the daily build from 04-30-09 and I let it get as far
as setting up the partitions. I am happy to see that the installer now detects
the netwrok card and the hard drive. I would like to continue with the
installation to see if I will get a successful debian install using the build
but I do not want to loose my current installation. Is it in any way posible to
test other installation while at the same time keeping my current
installation? Thanks.

This is the version of hd-media kernel no? Let's try!

To check the version of the cd is the same way than hd-media. You can load
only a CD (into a virtual machine or burn in a CD and load-it "phisically")
and in the first debina installer question, make : "alt+f2", and "uname -a".
This tells you the CD vlinuz version. The kernel version of hd-media may be
the same than netinst cdrom.

The kernel needs modules to load drivers and detect hardware . If he can't
load modules, he can't detect ethernet, filesystems, etc
