Isn't there a limit on the size of the images to decompress? I remember
having lots of trouble with 2.6 kernels, IIRC I can only boot uncompressed
2.6 kernels on my Amiga.

Yes, I heard large kernels must not be gzipped.

I don't know what's the reason for this, as compressed kernels are gunzipped
during loading.
