[Debconf-team] [DebConf18] Logo proposal revise period is started now
Hi, We need your comments on logo proposals of DebConf18, and if you would like to, you can submit another logo proposal for us. The initial logo proposals are listed here: https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf18/Artwork/LogoProposals Sorry for previous warning that the deadline was coming. I found that we didn't give enough time for gathering comments for the logo design. Also DC17 had a revised proposal process, so I am going to apply that to DC18 as well. The revised proposal deadline is at June 13 0:00 UTC+8 (June 12 16:00 UTC), followed by a 5-day vote period. Hi, We are going to call a meeting in #debconf-team IRC channel in 14:00 UTC today (Aug 21). Since this time will be coincided with solar eclipse happening in the North America [1], if anyone of the attendees is going to see it, please reply an email to the list and we can try to keep you updated without hurting your eyes. You can find the meeting summary on the wiki: https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf18/Meetings/2017-08-21 Here's the proposed agenda: http://deb.li/il9wc. Feel free to modify it as you wish. Hi, Here's meeting minutes for Aug 21 weekly meeting: http://meetbot.debian.net/debconf-team/2017/debconf-team.2017-08-21-14.00.html During the last meeting, I am asked to set a deadline of the meeting time poll. The deadline of the poll will be at Aug 27 0:00 UTC. (Sorry czchen, the time you suggested in the meeting would overlap with the timeslot...) Also being requested to add more timeslots, I expanded the timeslots to the weekends to ask if you prefer having a meeting during weekends, also added some timeslots that wouldn't put some of us to wake up in the midnight. However, Framadate's interface doesn't sort timeslots in a day so the interface would look really messy. We also invite DebConf committee people to vote because we hope to have your presence in the meeting. [Debconf-team] DebConf Team Meeting - Sep 21 2017 14:30 UTC
Hi, As someone put in the IRC title, the next meeting is arranged at: Sep 21 2017 14:30 UTC Actually the reason why we have a meeting one week after the last is: 1. We need to track the progress of brochures, flyers and its translations, as well as the website debconf18.debconf.org. 2. The correspondance of DC18 Venue (NCTU) is requesting us some documents for applying govermental sponsorships. One of 3 available fund applications is going to open next month. Meanwhile, please: * Prepare and check meeting agenda at http://deb.li/3OYuV , and * Write your role(s) or wannabe(s) in the wiki page: https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf18/TeamRoles I think it could be fine to invite NCTU correspondance into the meeting. [Debconf-team] [DC18] MEET TAIWAN gov't fund: restrictions on travel bursaries
Hi, As nattie points out that the speaker travel bursaries may only apply to invited speakers, I did a request to Huang, our correspondance to NCTU to ask the MEET TAIWAN funding program if there's such restriction. He sent an email to me today that the travel bursaries only apply to invited speakers. Good catch nattie :) As we have few invited speakers in every DebConf, gwolf said (in #debconf-team IRC) that we can pseudo-invite regulars, but I think there could be an bad bias where our travel bursaries can apply to. Nevertheless the speaker travel bursaries seems good but we need to "invite" people. How many do we plan to invite? And whom should we invite?
