Re: [Debconf-team] Magazine ad(s)
Moray, Thanks for bringing this up. There's same topic being discussed under "[Debconf-team] Is someone working on the Linux Journal Ad?" subject. The target audience that should be targeted with this and other papers/magazine ads are professional and corporate attendees, but even if we are not targeting anybody they should be released if anything as an announcement from which future DebConf's could benefit from. We have it all ready it just needs to be sent so it could be published next month. Just a quick reminder that we are having a team meeting on #debconf-team at 1900 UTC tonight. That's in just under an hour. [Debconf-team] we're going to Banja Luka in May
Hi, on Sunday, the 22nd of May, Moray and myself will land in Zagreb to test the shuttle^wbus connections^w^wwhatever and meet with local team and see the venue and... whatever will happen. I would like to suggest to have at least one meeting with _all locals_ from Banja Luka region, so that we get to know each other a bit more and discuss pressing and not so pressing topics. We should probably start a wiki page to plan this trip. I'm also looking for input from video people and send a similar mail to them asking for input. Looking forward to see you soon, Holger ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

Thanks to Clint, who managed to find out the formal status: 22:09 < Clint> moray: the august issue is still available, it mails out on june 24, there is also the potential for a banner ad. they need to send us a bill for $0 and need an address for this. they want to be listed as a media sponsor. This probably means that the deadline for us to get in is very soon -- in a previous year it appears to have been the start of May. As a reminder, a draft advert has been prepared, http://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/File:DC11_NN_03.png We *must* add sponsor logos to this, and it might additionally be useful to add at least a brief text to explain what DebConf is! For comparison, last year's advert is at http://emdebian.org/~zumbi/docs/lj-final.pdf -- Moray ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
[Debconf-team] Global Team Meeting Summary, 10 May 2011
The global team held a meeting on #debconf-team on May 10th, starting at 19:00 UTC. I agreed to write the summary. Local team update: Holger and Moray are planning a visit to Banja Luka toward the end of May, in order to meet the local team, and to become acquainted with the layout of the venue. They will be reimbursed for their travel expenses; concrete figures will be available shortly. T-shirts: They will be printed in Bosnia; the Mexican supplier is to be informed of this. Some proposed t-shirt designs are available at http://valessiobrito.info/projetos/debconf/debconf11/tshirt.svg http://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf11/T-Shirts (near bottom of page) and http://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/File:V2pdc11.svg Sponsorship team status - getting money: Holger will approach several more sponsors while at Linuxtag in Berlin. Adnan reports that he has several more large sponsors lined up to approach, and is to supply concrete information on those upon his return to Bosnia. Advertisements in magazines: Clint will contact Linux Journal about deadlines for placing an advertisement. (This has been taken care of in the time it has taken to write this summary. The information has been posted to the mailing list by Moray.) There was also discussion of a thank-you ad, to run after DebConf11. Registration: The deadline for registration was extended to Thursday, 19th May. According to http://rkd.zgib.net/http/debconf/registration-data.txt there are currently 348 people registered to attend. Budget: Please see http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/debconf-data/dc11/budget.ods for budget and http://rkd.zgib.net/http/debconf/accounting-balances.txt for current account balances. Travel sponsorship: There will shortly be a call for volunteers to join the team dealing with travel bursaries. The process will be similar to that used at DebConfs 7 and 8. Talks team: Gunnar has been declared the leader of the talks team, with the option of asking Biella or others to co-lead. Submissions are presently being reviewed, and there is a talks team meeting proposed for later this week. The next meeting will take place in a fortnight's time: Tuesday, 24th May, at 19:00 UTC.
