[Debconf-team] Status of daytrip?
At the last global team meeting, there was approval for the expenditure necessary to make ticket reservations for the daytrip[0]. It was my understanding that either Hydroxide or schultmc would follow through on making this happen. I know that we were told some months ago that time was a serious issue involved in making this happen for the numbers of people were are talking about, and I'm concerned that we do not miss out on this opportunity. Can we get a status update of where things are at with this? micah 0. If somebody has time, it would be even better to dedicate a page on the debconf10 website to provide info to potential sponsors. On previous years I remember seeing the "sponsors pack," a pdf with some information, but haven't seen it this year (it might be there somewhere, don't know.) We could probably take advantage of SPI's (and FFIS'?) non-profit status to encourage donations since they can be tax-deductible (that depends on each individual's or company's situation, I know, but we don't need to get to the details) and *mention it* on the announcement. (and making people promote the dc10 website wouldn't hurt either, potential sponsors may also consider website rankings.) You can pick a representative sample to show your managers or wait for about a month when the list of accepted talks is available.
