[Debconf-team] DebConf9 in Greece!

2006-07-14 Thread galaxico

hi all

as you may well know the Greek Debian community has
expressed its interest to organise DebConf7 next year.
Debconf7 is going to be in Edinbrough, so we renew
our bid for the Debconf9.

We are starting gradually to prepare our candidateship
and to this end the website http://www.debconf.gr
has been set up as a coordinating point for our efforts.

we look forward to benefit from your experience and feedback
so that our efforts be optimised.

Another way could be to have a "Chair" and a "Secretary" defined, with a
yearly election of who of the organizers is that (with the little
restriction that only people working on DebConf, ie organizers and
volunteers can vote for it). Works for a lot of other projects too.

Note that for this, and my first proposal, i dont want to change the
team itself as it is now, but I also think we need someone "in the back"
watching the whole thing, keeping it focused on the purpose of it -
having the best conf.

[Debconf-team] Meeting for decision/discussion about the Team

2006-07-14 Thread Joerg Jaspert
Hi

So, today we had this little meeting I announced, and as multiple people
couldnt attend we selected some later dates.

So, those of us online at this moment thought of Monday, the 24th, 19:00UTC
as a good date, as we had most DebConf6 meetings at mondays. Channel
stays #debconf-team on irc.debian.org of course. :)

We also have a backup-date, in case multiple people cant attend on the
24th, one week later, the 30th is it. Also 19:00UTC. But that should
only be a backup, the 24th is preferred.

Until then feel free to discuss proposals, propose own solutions, etc on
this list. A log of what was said, which was really not much, is behind
http://cmburns.debconf.org/~joerg/team_14072006.html
