I don't care much what happends to the equipment after DebConf; if the sponsor want it back, fine; if they would leave it there, it's fine too. As long as that doesn't hurt DebConf. [Debconf-team] Visiting Hokkaido, Japan; needing official-looking planning/recording document.
Hi, In two week's time, I'll be visiting Hokkaido, Japan, and I'll be meeting with munincipal government officials. They will require some official-looking description of past Debconf and future plans. Do you guys have something which might help me? I might need to hack something up. What I have in mind is some description of what Debian is (contributions to open-source, World-wide coverage, presence, Linux industry as a whole, blah-blah-blah), what Debconf is meant to achieve and has achieved in the past (structure of the meeting, the number of people attending, expected sponsorship, international legal backing (SPI?)). regards, junichi -- [EMAIL PROTECTED],netfort.gr.jp} Debian Project ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

I usually give this rundown of debians imporance etc orally... i never wrote something down. you can find something similar to that in the sponsorship mail that i usually send to sponsors in svn. but it is much shorter then what you seem to need. ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
[Debconf-team] redundancy in bosnian team lead?
Hi Safir! in edinburgh we asked who would be capable of taking over the local lead in case moray ran off with his CD collection [1]. Moray pointed out neil and kevin as possible capable and motivated replacements (perhaps more? i only wrote down these at that point). Who in Sarajevo could take over? (or better yet, would work as your equal from day one?) /andreas [1] just to name a desasterous personal fate that not includes being run over by a bus... ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

Hi Andreas, hope you had a good time both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Scotland. Offcourse, I name these people: Emir Beganovic Amar Prasovic Amila Akagic Vedran Ljubovic Ernedin Zajko and some more people who I expect to join should we get chosen. debian/rules sapphire On Monday 03 July 2006 18:38, Andreas Schuldei wrote: > Hi Safir! > > in edinburgh we asked who would be capable of taking over the > local lead in case moray ran off with his CD collection [1]. > > Moray pointed out neil and kevin as possible capable and > motivated replacements (perhaps more? i only wrote down > these at that point). > > Who in Sarajevo could take over? [Debconf-team] alternative ways of funding debconf
Hi! we have now looked at the possible/likely venues of debconf7. I expect reports to surface soon on this mailinglist. it turns out that only one of the options would not require us to come up with an alternative way of funding debconf (one of the ones in sarajevo, which involves the arabic culture center). So we need to rething if we are willing to run debconf differently. AJ suggested that in his earlier mail, but i am a bit reluctant. if we limit local sponsorship to e.g. 200 people to keep costs under control we would in effect ask the remaining people to carry costs of 7*19+250 = 383€ (or for debcamp and travel from abroad at a more expensive venue 7*37+700 = 959€) themselfs. i would expect more rumors of us paying our friends to come, more infighting and envy and demands for silly regulations like "only DDs!", "only people who fixed N bugs!" or "only people who finished the new debconf attendee process!" and more public control. I think at least at that point i would not enjoy running the event any more. what do you think? do you have ideas or suggestions on how to slice the cake? should we try to slice it at all? /andreas ___ Debconf-team mailing list Debconf-team@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team

Andreas Schuldei <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> writes: > what do you think? do you have ideas or suggestions on how to > slice the cake? should we try to slice it at all? IMHO one way to prioritise the sponsorship might use the colaboration of DD or not DD for Debian itself. That mean how much he/she colaborate with the project and how active he/she is. That might be very helpful. -- O T A V I OS A L V A D O R - E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] UIN: 5906116 GNU/Linux User: 239058 GPG ID: 49A5F855 Home Page: http://www.freedom.ind.br/otavio - "Microsoft gives you Windows ...
