Previous Debconf Shirts Photo
Hi there! For those who don't know it, we try to make a group photo with a shirt from each debconf (that had shirts). In the meantime those are a fair amount, and we want to coordinate beforehand about bringing the old shirts with us. So I created a page to put in your name and check marks for each year's shirt you bring along: https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf18/DebconfShirts Please edit yourself - but if you are unable to do that for whatever reason, feel free to send me a private response (preferred on IRC) and I'll add the data for you :)) Enjoy, and see/hug you soon! DebconfShirts: Please add yourself
Hey there! Thanks to everyone who added themself to this list already, but we need a few more: https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf18/DebconfShirts It would also be nice to have a bit more than the minimum needed for the reason of trying to find a more diverse representation of who is part of Debian, to have it visibly also being reaching out and feel welcoming to groups of people that don't attend debconf so regularly. Also, I came up with one additional idea and am wondering if there is someone around with one of those orange video team shirts that were used in some of the former debconfs, that would be great - please reach out to me, too. :) Enjoy! Pack up your previous debconf shirts :)
Hello there, as it has become a tradition already, I plan to coordinate another DebconfShirts photo this year. If you haven't heard about it yet: Bring some of your former visited debconf's attendee shirts with you and let's gather to create one photo with all of them. This is the one we took last year: https://photos.app.goo.gl/kACDF8mE8Zp2AHzH8 So if you can bring along attendee shirts from former debconfs with you, please consider packing them up and adding the information which you brought with you into this wiki page: https://wiki.debian.org/DebConf/19/DebconfShirts Especially if you have shirts that are usually hard to have around because it were the early debconfs or ones that weren't as well attended as dc15 feel free to put them higher up on your priority picks. :) Thanks in advance, see and hug you soon! Rhonda
more diverse shirt stuff :)
Hi, we'd like to organize a printing of Debian Diversity shirts. Those will be on a self pay basis, I only can guess that they might be around 15 US$, will keep the wiki page updated once I get information about that. We'll have to know within the next 48 hours, sorry for the short notice, and don't push it off too far. :) You can add your names and shirt sizes (and potential, amount) to this wiki page: https://wiki.debian.org/DebConf/19/DiversityShirts Thanks, Rhonda

The size chart is linked from the page, but here again: https://debconf19.debconf.org/about/t-shirts/ So you have the measurements there - I hope that that should be helpful? Thanks, Rhonda
Re: Pack up your previous debconf shirts :)
Hello, see this as a reminder: it would be really sweet if we manage to get this done this year again. So far only six people signed up, and we are still missing some years even if we would offer to pass shirts around for the photo. People leaving for DebCamp will probably have packed or are about to pack - so feel invited to add your names and the shirts you bring along to help out others to better see what's still missing. :) Enjoy, Rhonda On 7/1/19 1:58 PM, Rhonda D'Vine wrote: > Hello there, > > as it has become a tradition already, I plan to coordinate another > DebconfShirts photo this year. Meeting with Grupo Dignidade
Hi, as people might probably be aware, Brazil isn't the safest place on earth. This holds specifically true for people of minority groups, and queer people. Brazil had the highest murder rate of trans women of color ... worldwide. And that was before Bolsonaro got into power, which gave some sort of felt legitimacy to the hate crimes going on. One of the victims was Marielle Franco, who was a black lesbian politician fighting for the rights of minorities but was murdered last year. In times like these support groups are more than needed. One of those is Grupo Dignidade (dignity), the local LGBTI+ support group, which speaks out against the hatred going on and gives support to those in need. It happens that I managed to get in contact with them through the widow of Marielle, and their place is just up the street two blocks from the venue. I've arranged to meet with them this afternoon, at five o'clock. http://www.grupodignidade.org.br/ If someone wants to join in please get in contact with me - preferably through IRC or in person, I'm in the upper hacklab trying to fix the IRC bot :) The plan is to leave close to five from the hotel, and I suggest to meet in the lobby. Cheers, Rhonda
Welcome Team volunteers wanted (for open day aka tomorrow)
Hello, I guess most of you are aware that tomorrow will be the Open Day. During that it is very usual for more people from the local community to attend than people who are already involved with Debian for longer. So it would be great if we would have some people around wearing the shiny Welcome Team shirts to be willing to receive questions about Debian in general, about DebConf in particular and also the venue, how things work. On top of that, there might also be some language barrier involved. That's one of the main reason why we have a lot of those talks held in Portuguese too. But that also means that it would be very fine to have people who speak Portuguese too be amongst those that are willing to help out. Please get in contact with me, or with the backdesk (which is opposite of the frontdesk in the same room) to talk about it and have a shirt. The main part of your job will be to be visible and try to help people with their questions. You don't have to know everything by yourself, but knowing whom to ask or where to guide the people to is definitely a plus. :) Thanks for everyone who is willing to help with this already now, Rhonda
DebconfShirts Assignment
Hello, I finally got around to get the assignment of the people to shirt done, sorry for being late with this. The following people please bring the corresponding shirt with them to the group photo later this day. The special DebconfShirts photo will be taken after the group photo. You don't need to wear it for the group photo itself, but have it with you to put it on. Debconf3: Ralf Treinen Debconf4: Vagrant Debconf5: Thomas Lange Debconf6: holger Debconf7: Nobuhiro Iwamatsu Debconf8: Rhonda Debconf9: urbec Debconf10: Noel Debconf11: Giovanni Mascellani Debconf12: Stefano Rivera Debconf13: Gunnar Wolf Debconf14: Steve McIntyre Debconf15: David Bremner Debconf16: nodens Debconf17: Cathy Lafourmi Debconf18: Helen Debconf19: Adriana Thanks to all who have signed up to make this possible. It gets more and more difficult, especially for the earlier years, so thanks for those. :) Cheers, Rhonda
Ad Hoc Session: screening "Marielle and Monica"
Hello debconfers, If you are still wondering what are those white t-shirts about, on Thursday at 11:00 we will host a movie screening followed by a discussion on the LGBT activist Marielle Franco and her widow, Monica: https://debconf19.debconf.org/talks/164-movie-screening-marielle-and-monica-the-lgbt-activists-resisting-bolsonaros-brazil/ For those who cannot attend, you can still watch it online and maybe chat with us later: https://youtu.be/bZe-tZAQ__I -- Diese Nachricht wurde von meinem Android-Gerät mit K-9 Mail gesendet.
Debian Women/Diversity lunch on Thursday
Hi there :) During last year's traditional Debian Women lunch at DebConf it was discussed to broaden up the invitation further to other underrepresented groups within the project. So ... we will have a Debian Women/Diversity lunch on Thursday. We'll probably start after the screening of Monica & Marielle, directly around 12h, but feel free to join later when you still see us sitting. :) My suggestion is to sit on the tables outside the mensa, which are a bit better to navigate and sit in bigger groups. Looking forward to see you around! Rhonda -- Diese Nachricht wurde von meinem Android-Gerät mit K-9 Mail gesendet.
Diversity Postcards at frontdesk
Hi, Valessio went around to produce some postcards showing a bit of the diversity the Debian community has. If you want one of those, please be aware that they are limited in stock (I think Valessio mentioned a hundred) - so be kind with others and take only one (or two, if you have to). Thanks :) Rhonda
DebconfShirts photo
Hi there! Given that we are pulling through with an in-person conference it would be nice if we manage to gather for yet another debconf shirt photo. If you have shirts from former debconfs, feel invited to bring them along, and for coordinating which shirts are on premise and to be able to pick peole to wear them, please add what you brought along to the wiki page: https://wiki.debian.org/DebConf/22/DebconfShirts It becomes more and more difficult to coordinate over the years, naturally, due to amount of years we are doing this already, so let's try it if we can pull it off once again. Some years are usually more difficult to find people to have the shirts still, especially the earlier ones, so feel strongly encouraged to fill the page with what you have (or if you don't do wiki, feel free to send me a private mail and I'll add you). These are the photos we've done at debconf18 and debconf19 as a reference of what you might be signing up for. :) https://photos.app.goo.gl/kACDF8mE8Zp2AHzH8 https://photos.app.goo.gl/dWpaKg2EnyEnNweb7 Enjoy, and see you soon! Debconf Poetry Night on July 18th, 20:00 needs YOU
Hey there! On next monday at 20:00 we will have a Debconf Poetry Night! Or, we at least like to offer the space to have it happen. To actually *make* it happen we need people willing to present something. If you want to share something, feel invited to add your name to the pad: https://pad.dc22.debconf.org/p/91-open-mic-poetry-night Thanks for your interest and participation in advance, Rhonda -- Fühlst du dich mutlos, fass endlich Mut, los | Fühlst du dich hilflos, geh raus und hilf, los| Wir sind Helden Fühlst du dich machtlos, geh raus und mach, los | 23.55: Alles auf Anfang Fühlst du dich haltlos, such Halt und lass los|
