[Debconf-discuss] Table tennis tournament?
Hi, Since there's a table tennis table, and it seems unused for most of the time (although not /all/ the time), I wonder: would there be interest in a table tennis tournament? I'd think that would be nice, but of course holding a tournament all by yourself isn't going to get you much of anywhere... If there is sufficient interest, I hereby volunteer to organize the details. -- The biometric identification system at the gates of the CIA headquarters works because there's a guard with a large gun making sure no one is trying to fool the system. http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2009/01/biometrics.html ___ Debconf-discuss mailing list Debconf-discuss@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-discuss
[Debconf-discuss] OpenMoko phones at DebConf9
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA256 Hi everybody, The OpenMoko phones are already in the DebConf9 venue (Muñoz Torrero) and as I imagine, all the owners are willing to get their new toys. :-) David Reyes Samblas Martinez (from Tuxbrain) requested if I could give the phones to their respective owners. David should arrive at DebConf9 on Thursday (Jul 23rd) night, so any extra details and/or problems will be handled by him (and of course, if you don't pick your phone with me by that time, you should get it with him). Let's make it simple. Most of the time I'm in Hacklab 2, you can also find me on IRC (faw). Feel free to step by or "/msg faw", it is OK to also try to reach me before/after meals to ask for your OpenMoko. But I need you to bring some credentials, it would be great if you happen to have your passport, but knowing that Europeans don't have to travel with them, your national ID card would do the trick. It would also be recommended to have your invoice with you. :) Kind regards, - -- Felipe Augusto van de Wiel (faw) "Debian. Freedom to code. If you want to join in, go to http://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf9/TableTennis and add your name, preferably no later than tomorrow night. If it turns out there's not enough people interested, I can always ignore that page afterward -- but I don't think that'll be a problem. -- The biometric identification system at the gates of the CIA headquarters works because there's a guard with a large gun making sure no one is trying to fool the system. http://www.schneier.com/blog/archives/2009/01/biometrics.html ___ Debconf-discuss mailing list Debconf-discuss@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-discuss

[Debconf-discuss] Offer: travel from Madrid to Caceres
Sorry, I know it's probably too late, but I have been away for the past three weeks with limited access to Email. I will travel by car from Madrid to Cáceres on July 23rd and could take a couple of passengers, maybe three (depending on luggage volume), preferably non-smokers. I intended to leave by 10:00, but can be flexible about that. Please, those interested respond to the list or directly to j...@tid.es no later than tomorrow night. No, the day trip will be outside of Cáceres and is organized separately. For the old town visit you have to show tomorrow (22nd) at 22:00 in front of the main venue (MT) entrance. If there is interest, there will be another such visit organized for peple that couldn't make it tomorrow. So do I still get my lunch and dinner > with no burger on the badge and no tickets for food? It was determined that it would be easier to hand out tickets for all days to people in your situation than to reprint the badges a few at a time every day for the rest of the conference as new arrivals pay for their whole stay. You'll still get the lunch and dinner; pick up your tickets tomorrow, and if anyone guarding the door gives you any trouble, just have them check with the front desk to verify that you've paid. - Jimmy Kaplowitz ji...@debian.org ___ Debconf-discuss mailing list Debconf-discuss@lists.debconf.org http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-discuss
