[darktable-dev] Rename module's name or adding note to a module
Hi, I think it could be useful rename a module's name, or adding some kind of notes to it, do differentiate two or more instances of module of the same type. For example I usually have two instances for the exposure module, one for adjust the highlights and one for the shadows. I would like to assign a name, or a note, to each of these modules so I can easily recognize them. [darktable-dev] Contextual help
Hi, I think it could be useful, mostly for those who are new to darktable, to have for each module a contextual help that can be activated for example with a key (F1?) or clicking an icon. The function could open a pop-up with the same help present in the manual plus other advices for when and how use the module, possibily including some images before/after the use of the module. The help could suggests other modules that can act for the same purpose, for example if I have a darker image I could increase the exposure, or I could act with levels or tone curve. The help could suggests in which case use the right module. Thanks, Giuseppe. ___ darktable developer mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-dev+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org
[darktable-dev] Readonly modules
Hi all, is there a way to set as readonly every single module? This option could avoid unintentional changes to the module's sliders. Furthermore with this option we can indicate that the we are satisfied with the module's settings and that no others changes are needes, and improving the edit workflow. This new option could be activated with te current button to activate / deactivate providing the current button with a third state (on / off / readonly). A similar option could be activated also from the lighttable module, under "selected images", and could affect the whole modules so the entire image is readonly. What do you think about that? [darktable-dev] Magnifying glass tool
Good morning to all, is it possible to provide a new tool "magnifying glass"? By clicking a new button in the darkroom module the mouse pointer become a magnifying glass and when you move the mouse around the photo you can view the 100% zoomed area below the mouse pointer for example inside a circle. I know you can already "navigate" the zoomed image, but perhaps this tool will be more intuitive and quick to use. What do you think about that? [darktable-dev] Adding frame break photo proportions
Hi, adding a frame to a photo with a certain proportions, for example 3:2, will break the proportions, hence If I print a photo with a frame the frame will be cutted. This happens because the frame is added outside the photo. If the frame was added inside the photo (like Nik Collection does) the proportions would remain unchanged. Is it possible modifyng the module to create the frame inside the photo, or even to let the user to choose if the frame will be added inside or outside the photo? Re: [darktable-dev] Adding frame break photo proportions
Thanks for your reply. I tried to select 3:2 in the aspect settings, the aspect of the image is preserved but the size of the horizontal border are bigger than the vertical border. Maybe indicating different border size (for vertical and horizontal in pixel?) could solve the problem? Re: [darktable-dev] Adding frame break photo proportions
Correct, but how can I respect the aspect of the image (3:2) and have all the borders of the same size? It's like the borders must be created with the "constant border" but inside the photo, not outside. 2018-02-14 14:54 GMT+01:00 François Tissandier < francois.tissand...@gmail.com>: > The size of the border will often be different because it has to follow > your instructions for the aspect ratio ! : ) If you change the border size > with specific values in pixel, it can't respect a ratio, it will become > entirely manual, won't it ? > > On Wed, Feb 14, 2018 at 1:22 PM, giuseppe.in...@gmail.com < > giuseppe.in...@gmail.com> wrote: > >> Thanks for your reply. [darktable-dev] Resize panels in lightmode & darkroom
Hi all, I'am using darktable on windows (version 2.4.1). I'm not able to resize the panels on the left and on the righe in lightmode and/or darkroom mode. Is this a problem for the windows version or either in Linux you cannot resize the panels? [darktable-dev] Magnification of modules in Darkroom
Hello, I think it could be useful to have a feature that allows you to view a development module in a separate window with larger dimensions than the one currently planned. There are in fact some modules, such as the color zone (there may be other modules), with which it is not easy to interact precisely because of the limited size of the window on which to operate. Perhaps a button on the module's header is sufficient to display the module in a larger window. What do you think about this?
