There are a couple different types of track stop. You have to know what
type of track cross section you have. Round, flat, or tides marine (strong
track) all come to mind. Round and flat can be found at most chandleries.

For the strong track system you'll need to contact tide marine.

Stus-List Cabin Light Replacement

2019-06-09 Thread David Risch via CnC-List
All,

Finally getting around to replacing the fluorescent overhead rectangular lights
in the main cabin. Love the Alpine look and light but I found a great
cost-effective alternative that I since lost (computer crashed).

Any suggestions? Love it to be a warm LED light, dimmable and fit the
footprint (approx.) of existing fixtures.

Thanks in advance!

I replaced mine with warm led with a dimmable micro touch switch. There are
several companies that make them. I got the led lights from a local
electrical/electronics supply store. Just like the high end under the cabinet
lights I put in my kitchen for a fraction of the price. Approximately $11 a
fixture. I order the surface mount, lighted micro switches directly from China
(0.50 each).

Re: Stus-List Cabin Light Replacement

2019-06-09 Thread Andrew Burton via CnC-List
Call Dwight at Imtra up the road from you. He redid all the lights on
Peregrine...and Masquerade. Warm white LED, dimmable, and with two touches of
the switch, a red function, that’s also dimmable. Not cheap, but then again,
they’re not cheap.
Take a look at the galley pic I sent you.
Installing the new lights was a huge change in both boats; better quality
light for tiny power consumption.
Some of the lights required a teak base to be made, but that wasn’t expensive
and they look quite good. I’ll give you a couple of extra bases I have if you
buy me a beer...in person!

I can't believe it's taken you this long, mate! This is the 21st century, you
know.

My 33-2 has a simple screw on plate that closes a widening of the sail track.
If I lost mine I’d make another out of a piece of aluminum.

There are a couple different types of track stop. You have to know what type
of track cross section you have. Round, flat, or tides marine (strong track)
all come to mind. Round and flat can be found at most chandleries.

For the strong track system you'll need to contact tide marine.
