Stus-List Harken furler

2018-08-28 Thread WILLIAM WALKER via CnC-List
Help! Lost the feeder on headfoil off the mark iii harken furler Sunday after a
race. Part # 962. Can't find a dealer who stocks. Not pre feeder, but part
that goes on extrusion. Several emails out to dealers.

I feel your pain. I am so petrified of losing mine I keep a spare.

Try some rigging shops or consignment shops.

In my area, it's Zern Rigging 850.261.4129 r...@zernrigging.com

or Southern Cross 850.377.1776 or i...@southerncrossmarineservices.com

Also try Stix n Rig'n in Kemah, TX

or boaters resale shop of Texas.

Bill,

I show the feeder for a Harken MKIII Unit 1 as part 812. Is this same as
yours?

The fastener shows as Harken 192.

Mauripro lists it.

https://www.mauriprosailing.com/us/product/XZHAR812.html

Fisheries Supplies says ships in 10-12 days.

I recently bought a trim cap for my unit from apsltd.com.

Dennis,
Not sure which mark iii I have, there are several parts diagrams for unit 1,
as well as other versions. The one you suggest looks like it, but so do
others. They all have different feeder part #s..anyone know how to figure out
which.mark iii I have..don t see any markings other than harken mark iii..

For a 36 you probably have a Unit 1, possibly a Unit 1.5.

MKIII's have a black metal cover surrounding the drum, screws to hold the
extrusions together.

Did you call Harken directly? Excellent customer support from my
experience.

2018-08-28 Thread Hoyt, Mike via CnC-List
Hi Bill

When we are switching from Race to cruise and vice versa I always have to
remove the feeder to raise or lower the collar. Is a major PITA for just the
reason you describe. I ONLY do this at my slip where at least a diver could
locate the part should it go overboard. I also purchased a spare the day I saw
one at a local chandlery as I knew the part for mine is no longer made. I
think my furler may be older than yours.

You just looking for something temporary?

How about this?:

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Frost-King-Common-15-in-x-24-in-x-0-1875-in-Actual-15-in-x-24-in-x-Washable-Cut-To-Fit-Air-Filter/1196229

Cut to fit. Will still pass air but not bugs.

BTW, it's what I use for the intake filter for Touche's CruisAir air
conditioner.
