Stus-List Table bolts

2014-06-22 Thread Charlie Normand via CnC-List
Putting the table back onboard my 1987 33 MK II. Yup, can't find where we
stored the bolts. Does someone out there have the bolt dimensions handy ?
  Thanks

Cheers

Take a look at the itinerary for the Charles W Morgan (on the Mystic Seaport
site). She may be at a convenient port to visit

Stus-List C&C 40 rudder bearing replacement

2014-06-22 Thread Andrew Burton via CnC-List
This is from my friend who's cruising the Caribbean on his 40:

Hi Andy, I may have tracked down drawings for the rudder install, but would
like to see if there is anyone out there who might have done a bearing
replacement. My internet is poor and I can’t get into any of the forums on
C&Cphoto. Can you post a question there about C&C 40 bearing replacement? And
see if anything comes back?

Appreciate it.

Re: Stus-List Launch

2014-06-22 Thread Chuck S via CnC-List
Congrats on launch. The sideways propwalk is normal, and will be slightly
different at different RPMS. At full cruising Revs, Resolute needs a half spoke
of wheel to steer straight. I seem to have to relearn that each spring. My
wheel is marked w different colored tape, so I know where centered is.

I am pleased to report that the boat has been launched and that the launch went
smoothly; the engine (Yanmar 3HM) fired right up and has plenty of power in
reverse, (2 blade fixed prop); the only thing I wasn't ready for was, when
under power, there is a steady pull to port, like when a car is out of
alignment; is this a normal thing or should I be looking for some adjustment?
Tomorrow we hoist the sails! It is reaay nice to be back on the water, 93
degrees and all!

If it was my new boat I couldn't wait to sail it. I'd take a week or so to
do the trip (this assumes it passed a good survey). I'd plan to leave
Dartmouth and get the boat sorted out over the course of a day heading for
the C Cod Canal and then stop at one end. I'd probably spend the next day
sorting through any problems and getting to know the boat better. Depending
on the forecast, I'd either go to Provincetown or Marblehead the next day.
probably Marblehead because from P-town it's a long overnight to NS. from
M-head, I'd head up the coast to Portland ME and then start thinking about
weather and departure points for NS. All this while I'd be learning the
boat and getting more comfortable with her. When the weather was right, I'd
hop over to Yarmouth and then up the coast in hops to Halifax. By the time
I arrived, I'd have the boat sparkling and have gotten to know her very
well...and have a mile-long list of things to do.
Cost may well be more than hauling the rig and dismantling for trucking
then putting her back together again at the other end, but I doubt it. And
the adventure and experience would be priceless!
YMMV

2014-06-22 Thread Michael Crombie via CnC-List
Hi Charlie,

I have an '86 33 Mark II. I happen to have my table bolts handy as i haven't
put in the the table yet...I like the extra space, but will put it in before i
do a trip.

My table bolts are 3 3/4" long, with hex 3/4" head, the actual bolt diameter is
3/8".

Cheers,
Mike
