[Clamav-users] How to make ClamAV scan incoming email received by qmail on Plesk
Hi, I've seen a few posts on ClamAV and Plesk, but as a newbie, i still don't have a clue on certain things. i already have qmail working with Spamassassin on Plesk on CentOS, and i've just installed ClamAV 0.9 from source. The clamd daemon is running. The question is: How to make ClamAV scan incoming email? And also if it's made to work with qmail, how can i make it not to scan outgoing email? Thanks to everyone for the valuable info! All are good points! It seems i've indeed been a little naive thinking of not scanning outgoing mail. My server (a VPS environment) has about 30 mail accounts, and might increase in the future. Anyway, that's not the most important. i'm not a sys admin, but can follow instructions on how to set things up. i haven't found instruction on setting ClamAV to scan email on a system that uses qmail under Plesk. But i know that qmail-scanner might work with it. My server uses qmail and Courier IMAP to receive mail. And i've read that qmail under Plesk is not exactly the same as Qmail proper. i guess i just need to know where the hook is between ClamAV and qmail, if i don't use something like qmail-scanner. Or if someone can suggest a good working combination, that would be great!
