[Clamav-users] Clamscan core dump

2004-02-01 Thread Jason Lieurance
Hello,

I've had clamscan 0.65 working for several months now on our FreeBSD mail server
with no problems. The last couple days I've received these messages:

Jan 28 18:09:20 /kernel: pid 60926 (clamscan), uid 85: exited on signal 6 (core
dumped) Feb 1 01:24:16 /kernel: pid 73629 (clamscan), uid 85: exited on signal 6
(core dumped)

Any thoughts?

Could it be cause of the massive amounts of scanning from that virus? We block
several hundred a day.

[Clamav-users] freshclam error

2004-03-13 Thread Jason Lieurance
Hello,

We're running clamav 0.65 on FreesBSD 4.7 and its been running well for over a year.
When I set it up, I didn't run it as supervised. I wanted to run that way now so I
followed the instructions in the docs on how to do it. It works but now when my cron
job(sans the quotes):

'/usr/local/bin/freshclam --user clamav --quiet --daemon-notify -l
/var/log/clam-update.log'

runs I get this error:

connect(): No such file or directory
ERROR: Can't connect to clamd

And clamd(the socket) is no longer in the /tmp

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[clamav-users] Detailed logging?

2003-06-17 Thread Jason Lieurance
Hello,

How do you get a more descriptive log instead of just the summary? I ran a
scan and summary said 5 infected files but I don't know which or with what
virus. Also, is Eicar-test-signature ok or is it a virus? Thanks.

[clamav-users] Clamav Questions

2003-06-17 Thread Jason Lieurance
Hello,

I have FreeBSD 4.7, Squirrelmail 1.2.12cvs(virtual domains), Courier-imap
1.4.4., Qmail 1.03, and I just installed Clamav 0.54. I followed the user
manual up to the 3.0 section and then it kind of lost me. I have clamd
running, I have the updates working, and the logs work. How do I know if
its scanning my email and if not, how do I get it to? Thanks.

[clamav-users] Questions

2003-06-13 Thread Jason Lieurance
Hello,

I have FreeBSD 4.7, Qmail 1.03, courier-imap 1.4.4,
Squirrelmail-1.2.12cvs(w/virtual domains),clamav0.54, etc.

Anyway, I just installed clam following the user manual and it appears to
have went fine. I don't quite understand anything past section 3 in the
manual. I can start clamd but how do I know it's scanning my emails?

Thanks.

[clamav-users] Scanning files with clamscan?

2003-06-20 Thread Jason Lieurance
Hello,

We have a Freebsd 4.7 email, web, dns server. I've installed clamav and I
was gone to set up a cron job to scan every morning at like 3 am. One of
my questions is is there any files/directories I should exclude or need to
or just scan the whole drive? One more question, what does the --infected
option do? Thanks,
