It worked fine this time and made me a nice .dmg file. Do I need

Well, I needed to restart the server anyway so I did and now ClamAV
seems to be up to date. But my mail volume dropped significantly so
when I got home I checked my mail queue and it currently has 68
mails in it and it's still climbing. I thought it might have had
something to do with the changes I made today so I went to turn off
virus and spam scanning and when I save the settings they flip back
on so I can't seem to turn them off.

I did the usual, fixing permissions. No help.

This is a fairly urgent problem, if anyone has any help they can
offer me I'd appreciate it.

in terminal

su; # enter root password

launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/net.clamav.clamd.plist

launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/
net.clamav.freshclam.plist

Now in SA you should be able to disable it.

Please send responses to me at david_muszynski(at)mac(dot)com since
I can't seem to get mail from my main account currently.

Thanks,

I wasn't able to reproduce this problem. Are you sure it's not the calling
program (or some watchdog) sending the SHUTDOWN command to clamd?
