[chirp_users] New Daily Build

2022-02-19 Thread Build System
Greetings,

A new daily build of CHIRP is available. This includes changes made
directly to the tree yesterday, and may include additional features,
bug fixes, and/or bugs. If you are interested in trying it, grab it
from the following location:

  http://trac.chirp.danplanet.com/chirp_daily/daily-20220219

A list of the changes included in this build (since the last daily)
follows:

Changes for Build #681
[Matthew Handley ] [KG-UV920P-A] Add Wouxun KG-UV920P-A

This patch adds support for the Wouxun KG-UV920P-A dual-band mobile transceiver.
Tested on my own KG-UV920P-A. May work with other similar models, but I only
have this one to test against. Based loosely on the KG-UV8D driver.

Addresses #386

[Jim Unroe ] [RB17P] Retevis RB17P

This patch adds support for the Retevis RB17P GMRS radio.

Addresses #9752

Re: [chirp_users] Baofeng AR-152

2022-02-19 Thread Robert Ankenbauer
Regarding the new AR-152 from Baofeng, check out Ringwaymanchester on
youtube. He has two videos already up about this model and teases he will
talk about how to program it too. His email is prominent on his page. He
does compare the AR-152 to the UV5R but goes on to say that he doubts the
same programing would work. There could be a supported CHIRP model that
will program this radio but I don't know the answer to that.

Hope this helps. I found this initially on QRZ.com on their review of the
AR-152.

Thanks,

Bob Ankenbauer, KA1TTG

[chirp_users] CHIRP problem

2022-02-19 Thread Leilani Mariotti
I am trying to download CHIRP onto my Baofeng UV-5X3 radio.

I have the latest CHIRP, the cable is attached to the computer and radio.

Here is the error code that I see when trying to do the initial from Radio:  CHIRP - An error had occurred  Error reading date from radio:  not the amount of date we want.  OK

I need your help so I can program the radio.

Thank you.

Leilani,

Please double-check the manufacturer and model number on the radio and selected
in chirp, BTech offers the UV-5x3, Baofeng offers the UV-5RX3 - they probably
are not interchangeable.

I do click on the Btech UV-5X3 as that is the only one that shows up.  And it is what the label states on the radio.  I still have the problem and are trying to get the error cleared.
