Re: [ceph-users] Questions about Ceph
Hi Jordi, I would like to propose you consider use any virtualization layer on top of ceph's RBD cluster. So you will be able achieve huge high availability during planned and unplanned downtime. And as mentioned Gregory already, RBD have ability to take snapshots. You can easily export crush-consistent snap of running VMs and import they when would be necessary back to the complex. BTW, we testing right now ability to take consistent backups via guest agents behavior. Re: [ceph-users] RadosGW and S3-compatible clients for PC and OSX
Sorry for delayed reply, I am not good familiar with apache. For RGW I use one of the OSD nodes. This is clear minimum installation of Ubunut 12.04 and ceph deployment on it, no another services. I must to say that I use default apache2 package from Ubuntu repository and have rgw print continue = false in ceph.conf . Again, all configuration made as shown at here http://ceph.com/docs/master/radosgw/manual-install/ and here http://ceph.com/docs/master/radosgw/config/ nothing more. As {fqdn} I have used FQDN for this node. > try listing whatever under /etc/apache2/sites-enabled, see if there's anything else there. Looks like apache works. Which exactly log files can I show for you? [ceph-users] Maximums for Ceph architectures
Hi all, Does anybody know where to learn about Maximums for Ceph architectures? For example, I'm trying to find out about the maximum size of rbd image and cephfs file. Hi Jon, I already mentioned multiple times here - RBD just a block device. You can map it to multiple hosts, but before doing dd if=/dev/zero of=/media/tmp/test you have created file system, right? This file system MUST be distributed, thus multiple hosts can read and write files on it. [ceph-users] Problem with multiple hosts RBD + Cinder
Hello list! I am trying deploy Ceph RBD + OpenStack Cinder. Basically, my question related to this section in documentation: cat > secret.xml < client.volumes secret EOF sudo virsh secret-define --file secret.xml sudo virsh secret-set-value --secret {uuid of secret} --base64 $(cat client.volumes.key) && rm client.volumes.key secret.xml Do I need tie libvirt secrets logic with ceph client.volumes user on each cinder-volume hosts? So it will be separate "uuid of secret" for each host but they all will use single user cinder.volumes, right?
