[cdesktopenv-devel] Proposing an official release in two weeks

2018-06-22 Thread Jon Trulson
As the title says, I'd like to propose a "stable" release of CDE in two
weeks.

cde-next will be merged into master after release.

Objections? Affirmations?

[cdesktopenv-devel] ArchLinux

2018-06-22 Thread Christopher Turkel
I have gotten past the dthello hang in Archlinux.

Now I get this:

"Could not connect to ToolTalk message server:
TT_ERR_NOMP No ttsession process is running, probably because tt_open()
has not been called yet. If this code is returned from tt_open() it means
ttsession could not be started, which generally means ToolTalk is not installed
on this system.Exiting

I know there is a solution for this. I just forget what it is.

2018-06-22 Thread Henry Bonath
I think that's either rpcbind isn't running, or maybe the /etc/hosts file
not having the hostname in there?
I just loaded up a raspbian lite image and loaded a barebones CDE build and
I definitely got that error, and am pretty sure it was one of the two that
was the issue.

Definitely make sure rpcbind is running, ttsession exists, etc.

But, as of current master (8c1ad2d), you should not have to add your
hostname to /etc/hosts anymore. If you find that you do, I'd love to
hear about it...
