[ccp4bb] endotoxin calculation help

2024-07-09 Thread Megha Goyal
Dear All,

My product is an API that is available in concentration 20mg/ml.

We have to determine the endotoxin content of the same.

For this I prepared numerous dilutions starting from 1:10 and so on. I
found a positive gel clot formation till 1:3000 dilution. Finally in
1:6000 dilution i found a negative result. I take 100 microliter of each
dilution and add 100 microliter of lyate. incubate as per
specified conditions and then check for clotting. My endotoxin
sensitivity is 0.125 EU/ml.

from above can anyone help to calculate the endotoxin content in the sample
in EU/mg. As per my calculation its between 75 to 125 EU/mg. Is it correct.

Please guide me. thanks in advance

[ccp4bb] Protein Dynamics & Transient Interactions Conference 2024

2024-07-09 Thread Filippo Prischi
Dear all,

[with apologies for any cross-posting]

🚨Only few days left until the early deadline for registration and abstract
submission for the for the Protein Dynamics & Transient Interactions.

Registration and programme 👉
https://www.eventsforce.net/biochemsoc/frontend/reg/tRegisterEmailNew.csp?pageID=104455&eventID=198&tempPersonID=210733

This conference provides a platform for researchers to communicate new
discoveries in the field of protein dynamics, and their role in ligand and
protein interactions. It will offer a unique opportunity to engage with leaders
from institutions and organisations worldwide that develop and use
multidisciplinary approaches to characterise protein dynamics, and bring
together computationalists and experimentalists from physics, chemistry, and
the biosciences.

Early career researchers will have the opportunity to present their work and
discuss “Transition to Research Independence” with Programme Managers from MRC,
Royal Society, Wellcome Trust, and Cancer Research UK.

📍 Where: University of Essex Business School, Colchester

📆 When: September 11-13, 2024

⏰ Abstract & early booking deadlines: July 11, 2024

Best wishes,
Filippo Prischi

[ccp4bb] Instruct-ERIC Internship Call Open

2024-07-09 Thread ccp4mail
Dear All,

The Instruct-ERIC Internship Call is
open!

Calling all PhD students and early-career postdoctoral fellows – the
Instruct-ERIC Internship programme offers the opportunity to learn a new
structural biology technique, in a new lab, in a new country.

€6,000 is available in funding for 3–6-month internships in one of the 23
Instruct facilities across Europe.

Instruct offers access to technologies across its structural biology catalogue.
From cryo-EM and NMR, to X-ray crystallography and mass spectrometry, get
experience in a new technique to bring back to your home laboratory.

An intern’s home lab must be in an Instruct member country or organisation, and
interns must return to their home lab for 6 months following the internship.

The deadline for proposals is 30 September 2024. Internships should take place
within one year of the award.

Find out more about the programme and submission guidelines, and apply
here.

Kind regards
Instruct-ERIC Team

[ccp4bb] Protonation Dynamics in Protein Function: final symposium of SFB 1078, 1-3 Sep 2024 in Berlin

2024-07-09 Thread Hughes, Jonathan
Hello everyone,

We invite you to the final symposium of SFB 1078 in Berlin from 1 to 3
September. This meeting will be a celebration of twelve years of research into
protonation dynamics in protein function and associated themes, marking the
culmination of our journey. It will feature ten scientific talks by
outstanding, high-profile international
researchers in the
field, complemented by our PIs with overview talks describing the scientific
achievements in each of the protein systems we have studied (oxidase,
photosystem, rhodopsin, phytochrome and viralporin) and in theoretical areas.
All other participants are invited to contribute posters. Not only will you
also be able to experience Berlin, the symposium will be a satellite meeting of
EBEC2024 "What is Life?"
in Innsbruck (26.8. - 31.8.2024), allowing you to save all that journey time
and CO2 emission! Registration is already open, so don't delay

Please check our conference website https://www.sfb1078.de/final-2024/ for
details.

Registration with ConfTool:

  1. Visit the conference registration page at
https://www.conftool.net/sfb1078-2024 .
  2. Create an account with your institutional information.
  3. Then return to the Overview page and "Register as Participant"
  4. Complete the registration process by providing the required information.

If you have any questions or need help registering, please contact us at
confere...@sfb1078.de .

Hoping to see you in Berlin and with best wishes,

SFB 1078

virus spike structures |
Help needed ASAP.

I am just setting up my new laboratory in Australia (alone at the moment) and
already have at least 5 new X-ray structures that need checking and a bit more
refinement. High resolution and should not be too much work.

Therefore, I am looking for a student with experience and/or any help with
finalizing the structures (will provide all details to those interested).

Happy to add as a co-first author to any manuscripts, as all the wet lab, data
collection, and refinements were done by myself ;)

Cheers.
