[ccp4bb] Job opening at ModeX

2022-08-04 Thread Ronnie

ModeX Therapeutics is seeking a highlyskilled and motivated scientist to
support biologics production, characterization, and optimization for developing
innovative biotherapeutics. This is an excitingopportunity to be part of a
cross-functional team and contribute to thedevelopment of next-generation
biological therapeutics in a fast-paced, rapidlygrowing biotech company with a
bold vision.

Company

ModeX Therapeutics, a subsidiary of OPKOHealth, is a biotech based in
Massachusetts dedicated to the concept ofmodulating multiple disease targets
with innovative multi-targeting strategies. It was founded by Dr. Elias Zerhouni
and Dr. Gary J. Nabel in 2020 with a teamof scientists with proven track record
from early research to clinicaldevelopment, regulatory approvals, and
commercialization. ModeX is pursuing thedevelopment of novel immune-oncology
therapeutics for cancers and biotherapeuticsagainst infectious disease.

Major responsibilities

·Interact closely and be part ofinterdisciplinary biologics research
teams to drive the discovery of innovative therapeutic antibodies and
theoptimization of their biochemical and biophysical properties.

·Contribute to ModeX’s multi-targetingstrategy through structure-based
antibody design, production, andcharacterization platforms.

·Develop a high-throughputantibody expression and purification platform
and lead the effort in producing high-qualitymultispecific antibodies for
developability assessment and PK/PD studies.

·Perform biochemical andbiophysical characterization of diverse
biologics molecules, includingmulti-specifics, fusion proteins, and non-viral
particle to support leadcandidate selection, focusing on antibody’sbiophysical
properties including chemical stability, solubility, polyspecificity and
polyreactivity.

·Interpret results and present/communicatewith cross-functional
colleagues for successful execution and completion ofprojects.

·Stayscientifically current and contribute to the implementation of new
technologyand instrumentation.

·Ensure effective andtimely documentation in electronic laboratory
notebooks.

Qualifications

·PhD or MS in biochemistry, structure biology, biomedical engineering,
or other life science disciplines

·Minimum of 3 years (PhD)/6 years (MS) of relevant experiences

·Knowledge in antibodystructure and the development of antibody-based
biotherapeutics is preferred.

·Skilled in protein expressionin mammalian cells and protein
purification using various chromatographymethods and instruments such as AKTA
FPLC.

·Experience with proteinanalytic techniques such asHPLC/UPLC,
cIEF/CE-SDS, SLS/DLS, and BLI/SPR based protein-protein
interactioncharacterization is a plus.

·Excellent written andoral communication, organization, and data
analysis skills.  Outstanding troubleshooting and problem-solvingskills.

[ccp4bb] Staff Scientist opening at UT Health San Antonio

2022-08-04 Thread Taylor, Alexander Bryan
Dear Colleagues,

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is seeking a Staff
Scientist to support the protein production capabilities of its Structural
Biology Core Facilities
(SBC). The Protein
Production Facility has infrastructure for recombinant protein production in
bacterial, insect, and mammalian expression systems and is fully equipped for
protein purification and characterization. The Protein Production Facility is
closely integrated with the X-ray, NMR, and cryo-EM facilities of the SBC and
will provide the successful candidate with opportunities to develop experience
and skills in these techniques.

Interested candidates should email a curriculum vitae, a list of three
references and a cover letter addressed to Dr. Shaun K. Olsen at
ols...@uthscsa.edu. Review of applications will begin immediately upon receipt
and will continue until the position is filled.

Thank you,

Alex
