Does this bug is still relevant? First, it appears transient and second
the CI is already work-in-progress.

If it is not transient, could you add more context when it happens?

All the best,

bug#35519: guix master 4de63cf3fc0a831d75cb507456821104f24800c2: rust 1.19.0 build failure on i686-linux

Sure, for the time being.

But seriously, mrustc supports a lot of other architectures (including
defining custom architectures in config), and also can bootstrap Rust
1.29.0 directly. It's better to just update mrustc.

(Marius Bakke already tried to integrate the mrustc update to
core-updates--not sure what the roadblock was. Even if there was a
roadblock, mrustc upstream was committed to 7 days ago--maybe the roadblock
is gone now ?)

Got the same issue as well!

It fails during unattended-upgrade for me.

Yes, especially with `guix download --output=foo`. But we shouldn't let
this keep us from making the installer more comfortable for new users :)

This is because PostgreSQL installs its Makefile(!), which contain
absolute references to various build tools.

I pushed a fix to 'staging' in
e693617f559f49d1d2606dd5ad997e444b9ad1b5 that adjusts the Makefile to
use relative references.

(not sure whether it should be installed at all, but that is for a
future bug report)

The size of postgresql@13 decreased from 256.3 MiB to 137.9 MiB(!!).

Thanks!
