bug#35243: ungoogled-chromium build stops and freezes the system
Hello. >From what I can tell from the closed bug report filed upstream, https://github.com/Eloston/ungoogled-chromium/issues/730 commit 9a2e5fe5fdcc6ea848ceeefa0f70147dfb360639 originally tried to address the thrashing of end user systems by disabling parallel-builds and commit 6a489839a8852dc3428c53b0d35ead32e06dc1ac incorporated the "jumbo_file_merge_limit" fix and re-enabled parallel-builds which looks to have fixed this reported bug at the time. (side note: since it looks like things have changed since then) commit f613d459be9a91ca778d1a2d5ece941ee21469b5 removed the "jumbo" stuff when ungoogled-chromium was updated to version 80.0.3987.116 and switched to use clang to build it. Hello. Looks like conda was introduced in commit 84fcb58050f4dc18cd3ec3ae13846789de5223b2 Looks like Pierre Neidhardt noticed this as well and asked last year if this could be closed. Close?
bug#32067: Doc issue
Hello. It looks like the page that was mentioned to have a broken link to download the vm image in the manual: https://www.gnu.org/software/guix/manual/html_node/Running-GuixSD-in-a-VM.html (which redirects to) https://guix.gnu.org/manual/en/html_node/Running-Guix-in-a-VM.html Now has a working link where you can download the vm image: (currently https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/guix/guix-system-vm-image-1.1.0.x86_64-linux.xz) I think commit 021deac0e86e9bc6f2669f822a2ed70ad252ba5e introduced the fix for this. bug#41387: "Building from Git" on foreign distro starting with NO guix?
Hi, Playing with guix-install.sh, which is binary installation, I got into reading a bit at [1], and decided I'd like to try it. [1] https://guix.gnu.org/manual/en/html_node/Building-from-Git.html#Building-from-Git Is there anyone here who has succeeded installing guix following the directions at "14.1 Building from Git" on a "foreign distro" WITH NO TRACE OF GUIX on it to start? ^ I read, --8<---cut here---start->8--- 14.1 Building from Git If you want to hack Guix itself, it is recommended to use the latest version from the Git repository: git clone https://git.savannah.gnu.org/git/guix.git --8<---cut here---end--->8--- Great, my foreign /usr/bin/git cloned that handily (that was the intent right?) Onwards, --8<---cut here---start->8--- How do you ensure that you obtained a genuine copy of the repository? Guix itself provides a tool to authenticate your checkout, but you must first make sure this tool is genuine in order to “bootstrap” the trust chain. To do that, run: git verify-commit `git log --format=%H build-aux/git-authenticate.scm` --8<---cut here---end--->8--- Guix itself? How is that meant? Really looks like my git again, albeit showing info probably from guix :) Anyway, it worked.
