Looking new RPMs for CentOS 6.
I had some issues in some old versions of CentOS 6 for a caching server so I have compiled bind from sources. I wanted to use and RPM instead of the self compiled version and I have seen couple source such as: http://bkraft.fr/files/RPM%20stuff/ But I am not too familiar with the packager and was wondering if some others use this repo. Sometimes DNS does not resolv domains
Hi I am running bind on slackware 14.1 x86_64 for my own websites, but also as a standard DNS for my other systems to use. I have my /etc/resolv on my laptop pointing at it. It's always worked flawlessly until a few months ago, when sometimes a domain would fail to resolve. Just occasionally. Today it happened again with amazon.co.uk and I had to point /etc/resolv at my router to get it to resolve. Any ideas what might be causing this? Version: bind-9.9.6_P1-x86_64-1_slack14.1 Thanks ___ Please visit https://lists.isc.org/mailman/listinfo/bind-users to unsubscribe from this list bind-users mailing list bind-users@lists.isc.org https://lists.isc.org/mailman/listinfo/bind-users

Re: Sometimes DNS does not resolv domains
Hey David, Do you have any logs enabled in your settings? The logs can help a lot to minimize the issues. There is a nice example of settings at: http://stackoverflow.com/a/12114139 Which can be a starter to give you more then you have now. Notice that the issue might come from something that is not in your hands at all. You can decide which "channel" to enable or disable. Also you can verify something in your config about dnssec. If your server is now dnssec enabled try disabling it and see what happens. Eliezer On 08/02/2015 20:35, David Woodfall wrote: Any ideas what might be causing this?
