Imtiaz Bhai,

I don't know the reason why every language(I checked Spanish and Chinese
GNOME also) use English digit for the Gnome Clock Applet. But I found that
Chinese are using Chinese digit for Chinese Calendar support in Gnome Clock
Applet. So English digit is used in English Calendar, Chinese digit is used
in Chinese Calendar and Bangla digit will be used in Bangla Calendar in
Gnome Clock Applet.

Here is the link of Chinese Calender support in Gnome Clock
http://code.google.com/p/lunar-applet/

Re: [bdlug] Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala Bengali (বা ংলা) Localized Screenshot

2009-10-30 Thread Imtiaz Rahi
Just done some digging. Looks like numbers are never converted for locals.
only string characters.
Even in lunar clock applet, they are showing english numbers in applet. In
calendar, they kind of added a facility to show Chinese characters/numbers
beside/down the english numbers.

Just in my console tried to get 'date' output in bn_BD locale. Only alpha
chars are showing translated not the numbers.
Wondering whether it should come from libc !!!

Yes Imtiaz bhai, it has to be done thru glibc's bn_BD locale file. :)
