Why the hell would anyone want to go to Costa Rica? Might as well say,
Isla Sorna or whatever other islands they used to create Jurassic Park

[bdlug] error msg at startup

2005-11-27 Thread Ashfaq
I always get this error message when debian starts.

...
hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
.

But linux starts and I can also work.
What does this kind of error message mean?

Ashfaq

Man it is time to change to your hard drive. Make a backup all of your
important documents in any other hard drive or cd. and waiting for the
time of death of the hard drive. :-(

[bdlug] [Off Topic] Tech news on the web

2005-11-27 Thread Emon
Hi guys

I am looking for a site that provides technology news
by mail, so I typed “tech news” and ran it through
google; one of the results that showed up was
“slahdot.com” it says it provides tech news with a
heavy slant towards Linux & OpenSource; which sounded
just PERFECT, but after surfing slashdot for a while
(with my mind numbingly slow dialup connection) I am a
bit confused as to how it works.

What I want is a site that will mail me the news not
just the links to the new; that way I won't have to
browse for the news with my slow connection, all have
to do is just read the mail for news.

Any suggestions or pointers ??

Thanks
Emon

2005-11-27 Thread Md Mozammel Haque
HI Emon,

You can use Google Alerts for tech news on specific topic. Secondly,
I've found the best/quickest way to get news from a news site is to
subscribe to their RSS feed (using firefox or others).

Mozammel
