Re: Difference in search volume between API and Keyword Tool?

2010-07-09 Thread k
Bump. I am having the same problem as Achim above. It is quite
maddening.

Has anyone figured out why there is such a huge discrepancy?

Can anyone explain how to get the stats for A SINGLE PARTICULAR
keyword using the GUI tool when signed in?

If there is no fix for this, then I would at least like to understand
what is causing the huge difference.

Thanks, K

Re: Google AdWords: Keyword Tool - Logged In or Logged Out?

2010-07-09 Thread k
This question is very relevant to my interests, as I have noticed the
same thing.

Also curious, when logged in, I cannot get the stats for the
particular keyword I entered, only the suggested keywords. This has
caused me to actually prefer not logging in.

Thanks, K

Error on setting audience in AdGroupCriterion

2022-03-22 Thread K
Hi,

I tried to set the audience to ad group criterion but I got the error
" Parameter to MergeFrom() must be instance of same class"

What's I do wrong in this snippet:
ad_group_service = client.get_service("AdGroupService")
ad_group_criterion_service =
client.get_service("AdGroupCriterionService")

ad_group_resource_name = ad_group_service.ad_group_path(
customer_id, ad_group_id
)

audience_resource = 'customers/7979218831/audiences/5414975'

# Create a positive ad group criterion for the gender MALE.
audience_ad_group_criterion_operation = client.get_type(
"AdGroupCriterionOperation"
)

audience_ad_group_criterion =
audience_ad_group_criterion_operation.create
audience_ad_group_criterion.ad_group = ad_group_resource_name
audience_ad_group_criterion.audience.audience=audience_resource

# Add ad group criteria
ad_group_criterion_response = (
ad_group_criterion_service.mutate_ad_group_criteria(
customer_id=customer_id,
operations=[
audience_ad_group_criterion
],
)
)
for result in ad_group_criterion_response.results:
print("Created keyword {}.".format(result.resource_name))

For the shown error:
TypeError: Parameter to MergeFrom() must be instance of same class:
expected google.ads.googleads.v10.services.AdGroupCriterionOperation got
google.ads.googleads.v10.resources.AdGroupCriterion.

Thanks in advance.

How can I create a test manager account if I already have a "cancelled" production account?

2022-11-28 Thread Mark K
I'm trying to create a test manager account. It says here
 in
the documentation that I just click the "Create a test manager account"
button and I'll be redirected to the create page.

However, I already have a Google Ads account, but is cancelled / suspended.
So when I click the button on the documentation, I'm always redirected to
the dashboard of that Google Ad account.

What I wish to do is to just create a test manager account for now and not
a production one using my existing account.

Re: Will be "Images" extension no longer supported in Google Ads API?

2022-12-26 Thread Vasyl K.
Hi Nirmita,
Thank you for answering.
You said image extension as an asset is not supported in the Google Ads API
and in the same time you've sent the link to a guide for uploading image
assets via some script
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/samples/upload-image-asset.
Does this guide not refer to Google Ads API?

Vasyl

One last question - how to become a allowlisted customer to be able to add,
update and remove CampaignAsset

 and AdGroupAsset

with
the field_type as AD_IMAGE

 via
Google Ads API v12?

Is it possible to place each product from the feed in a separate ad group using the API?

2023-02-14 Thread Vasyl K.
Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell me if there is a possibility to place each product from the
Merchant Center feed in a separate ad group using the Google Ads API? There
are several thousand products in the feed.
Talking about shopping campaigns.

Regards,
Vasyl

Re: GenerateHistoricalMetricsResponse is empty for a particular keywords plan

2023-03-14 Thread Ana K
I'm seeing the same issue, and it seems to be new. In the past I regularly
ran API requests using the
syntax
https://googleads.googleapis.com/v13/customers/111/keywordPlans/222:generateHistoricalMetrics.

Where it says 222 I'd plug in the plan ID after creating the keyword
plan through the Google Ads UI. In the past, data viewed in the UI or
retrieved via the API always matched.

In the past few weeks, this seems to have changed such that any new plans
created in the UI now result in empty object {} when running the request
URL shown above (data is still available through the UI). This seems to be
related to a recent format change, since old plan IDs work until I hit the
""You must update this plan to a newer format to open it. This format can
be used with a new feature that automatically organizes keywords into ad
groups"" and click Continue. Once the plan is updated, the API request
starts returning the empty object instead of historical metrics.

Is this a known change or limitation of the new plan formats?

Unable to connect to the remote server

2014-02-07 Thread Jeremy K
Hi,

Unfortunately I'm getting an error when I try to run GetCampaigns in the c#
.net sample that I downloaded from:

https://github.com/googleads/googleads-adwords-dotnet-lib/releases/tag/v16.6.0

What's frustrating is that a colleague has managed to get this working in
ruby and I'm using the exact same parameters (e.g. ClientCustomerId,
UserAgent, DeveloperToken) as he is. The first expectation that I get is :
"Unable to connect to the remote server". Then the inner exception is: "A
connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly
respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because
connected host has failed to respond".

I've tried this in both v201306 and v201309 but I get the same error.

Does anyone have any ideas please as to what's gone wrong?

Thank you

As far as I'm aware I can access port 443 for *.google.com

Re: Unable to connect to the remote server

Hi Danial,

Thanks for your reply.

I've been told that yes we do use a transparent proxy. I'm not sure what
implication that has. Is there a way around it?

I should add that the guy who got your ruby sample working had no problem.
And I've checked that his config settings (e.g. Developer Token/Customer
Id) are identical to mine. I just find is strange that it works fine in
ruby but not .net.

Do you have any other ideas as to what I can do next / what could be
causing the problem?

Thanks
Jeremy

Hi Danial,

I've now made some progress - it seems that it works when connected to
Wifi, but not when connected through the network.

So the network administrator is looking into this. However, he asked is
there a specific URL that we need to unblock? e.g. something.google.com?

Thank you

Configuration Sections app.Config

2014-02-18 Thread Jeremy K
Hi,

I'm looking to take the AdWords c# .net sample and get it working in an
SSIS package, which will allow the use of .Net via a VSTA script. According
to the best of my knowledge, a VSTA script will behave just like standard
.net, but you can't give it an app.config.

Therefore I understand that I should specify the relevant app.config
settings manually. I'm trying to put my settings in a dictionary. The
settings that I have are:

var customDictionary = new Dictionary {
{ "UserAgent", "xxx" },
{ "DeveloperToken", "xxx" },
{ "ClientCustomerId", "xxx" },
{ "AuthorizationMethod", "xxx" },
{ "Email", "xxx" },
{ "Password", "xxx" }

};

Could someone please tell me, are there any that I'm missing if I have
absolutely no app.config?

Unfortunately I get an error when trying to do AdWordsUser user = new
AdWordsUser(customDictionary) so I think I must be missing some settings

Thank you
Jeremy

Placement Performance Report (v201309) reporting lesser data

2014-02-19 Thread Anirudh K
Hi,

I have been trying to import data for placements using the placement
performance report (v201309). It's returning lesser data than whats
displayed on adwords. Is there an issue?

Best,
AvK

api vs web app differences in values

2018-11-27 Thread Jon K
I have slight differences in the values between those shown on the web
application and those pulled from the api.
The data in question is more than a month old so "data freshness" is a
non-issue. The data is simply "Users" in a given country. Even if the
country filter is removed, the data has a discrepancy.

Please assist.

Feed item matching function gives CollectionSizeError.TOO_MANY error

2019-02-22 Thread hitarth . k
Hi,
I have multiple campaigns with me and I have a large number of feed items
in my feed (let's say 1). Now, I know the list of feed items I need to
associate with every campaign (let's say 1000 ). This section

 explains
how I can use the CampaignFeedService and matching function (IN
(FEED_ITEM_ID {%s})) to achieve what I want.

However, the issue that I am facing is that if my matching function has
more than 20 feed item ids, then I get theCollectionSizeError.TOO_MANY
error when I do campaignFeedService.mutate. If the size of the matching
function turns out to be the bottleneck can I please know how to achieve
what I want?

Thanks,
Hitarth Kanakia

Information about campaign in google ads api/big query

2024-05-28 Thread Iwo K
Hello,
I'm working on google ads dataset in bigquery (connected via data
transfer).

I would like to access information about campaign settings such as:

- usage of *google video partners *(in any form e.g. number of views from
gvp or simple yes/no setting)

- information if campaign is using *locations of interest* (also in any
form)

Is it possible to accomplish with data that is transferred to big query?

Thanks for any help!

I'm facing the same problem. The original question was how to upload a

How do we create one of those programatically?

Thanks for the prompt response. However, it doesn't answer the question

AdWords API How to properly set matchType in PHP API for argetingIdeaService

2010-03-24 Thread Bartosz K
Hello,

I'm wondering why, for:
$keyword = new Keyword();
$keyword->text = 'abendkleid';
$keyword->matchType = 'EXACT';

I get the response of TargetingIdea with Keywords, that are all kind
of types:
 Keyword::__set_state(array(
   'text' => 'abendkleider',
   'matchType' => 'PHRASE',
   'id' => NULL,
   'CriterionType' => 'Keyword',
   '_parameterMap' =>
  array (
'Criterion.Type' => 'CriterionType',
  ),
)),

Keyword::__set_state(array(
   'text' => 'abendkleider',
   'matchType' => 'BROAD',
   'id' => NULL,
   'CriterionType' => 'Keyword',
   '_parameterMap' =>
  array (
'Criterion.Type' => 'CriterionType',
  ),
)),

Keyword::__set_state(array(
   'text' => 'abendkleider',
   'matchType' => 'EXACT',
   'id' => NULL,
   'CriterionType' => 'Keyword',
   '_parameterMap' =>
  array (
'Criterion.Type' => 'CriterionType',
  ),
)),

Shouldn't I get only the 'EXACT' matches?
Thank You in advance.
B.

partial errors dosen't work with validate only

Hi,

im making a call to campaignService mutate. I set partial errors to true
and validate only false. It works as expected, no issues. Partial errors
are returned, but when partial errors is true and validate only is also
true and there are any errors, Adwords returns an exception instead of the
response received previously with validate only set to false. Anyone else
faced this or is this how it is suppsed to work?

SQR report added/excluded column

2015-02-18 Thread anirudh . k
The SQR report on the adwords interface has a column "Added/Excluded" but
the report from adwords API has no such column. Is there any way to get the
added keywords?

Hey,

I tried downloading the reports again but there is still a slight mismatch
in number of clicks. This is essential as Cost also varies depending on
clicks. The number varies depending on the size of the account.

Is it possible to set custom parameters by keyword via the API?

2016-01-13 Thread Rich K.
I'm trying to utilize the API to set the custom parameter field on specific
keywords. It looks like it is easy to set this field at a campaign and
adgroup level but I do not see a way to set it for a specific keyword. I
know it is possible to do through the AdWords UI. I am attempting to do
this in C# using the 201509 API version. Any assistance with this question
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

Target specific placements with bid only

2016-01-25 Thread rami . k
Hi.
I would like to place bids (*CPC bid*) for specific placements and not to
target only them (the adgroup will have a default bid for all others). This
is at the Display network.
How can I do this? What values should I place to what fields at the adgroup
and at the adgroup criterion?
For now I have tried the mutate method with:
[{
'operator': 'ADD',
'operand': {
'xsi_type': 'BiddableAdGroupCriterion',
'adGroupId': --- SOME ID ---,
'criterion': {
'xsi_type': 'Placement',
'url': '- SOME URL --'
},
'biddingStrategyConfiguration': {
'bids': [
{
'xsi_type': 'CpcBid',
'cpcBidSource': 'CRITERION',
'bid': {
'microAmount': - SOME BID --
}
}
]
},
'criterionUse': 'BIDDABLE'
}
}]

But that makes the adgroup to target only this url.

Thanks in advance.

Write Adwords objects to disk

2016-03-01 Thread rami . k
Hi.
Pulling the adwords network (campaigns, adgroups, criterions etc) takes
quite some time to complete. This is why I would like to save and keep the
objects I pull on my local disk (file), so that if anything goes wrong then
I won't need to pull all the stuff I need again.
I've tried using pickle (and also cPickle) and dill but they can't handle
those objects.

Did anyone do something similar and used an existing library to do so?
Thanks

Can't get basic campaigns service

2016-07-13 Thread rami . k
Hi.
I'm trying to do a basic thing as getting campaigns.

I get the error:
googleads.errors.GoogleAdsValueError: Unrecognized version of the AdWords
API. Version given: v201605 Supported versions: ['v201509', 'v201502',
'v201506']

while running the simple:

adwords_client = adwords.AdWordsClient.LoadFromStorage()
campaign_service = client.GetService('CampaignService', version='v201605')

My googleads.yaml has the correct data as I understand it.

Any reason for that to happen?
Thanks in advance

Getting jar file for v201109

2011-12-04 Thread K D
Hi

Sorry if this is a n00b question, but the adwords-api-8.4.2-
loner.tar.gz  and adwords-api-8.4.2.tar.gz downloaded from
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-java/downloads/list have
jar files which still support v201101.

Is there any way I can get a jar file which only has v201109 code (and
not previous versions)

Thanks for your time.

INVALID_INPUT error response when requesting a TrafficEstimate with > 5 groups.

2011-12-06 Thread Mike K.
Hi,

I'm using the TrafficEstimation API (v201101), and I'm having an issue
where a request with a total of more than 5 groups is returning a
response with 'INVALID_INPUT'. Here is the tree structure of the ids
i'm passing in:

PCA
   GROUP
   KEYWORD
GROUP2
   KEYWORD2
   KEYWORD3

78862179
2956817379
7017065421
12857784377
12857863757
2956817499
1812500319
6786624099
12857784557
13233866573
2956817619
10962740851
12857784647
1306367
13222511363
2956817739
13063777367
13063778807
13063811387
13063816607
2956817859
15878207057
2956817979
10962740851
13063809407

The following structure, however, works fine (notice there are only 5
groups).

78862179
2956817379
7017065421
12857784377
12857863757
2956817499
1812500319
6786624099
12857784557
13233866573
2956817619
10962740851
12857784647
1306367
13222511363
2956817739
13063777367
13063778807
13063811387
13063816607
2956817859
15878207057

My guess is that there is a limit of 5 groups (as opposed to the 50
group limit given in the API reference page), however it is possible
that I'm malformatting my requests (seems unlikely given that when I
restrict the request to 5 groups everything works fine). Will post the
actual XML for response/request for the case of 6 groups.

Any help is much appreciated,
-Mike

Getting targeted Languages and Locations (migrating from v201101 to v201109)

2011-12-06 Thread K D
Hi

First of all, a great work by Google API team. New version does look
better. As the subject says, I am migrating from v201101 to v201109, I
faced some issue.
I want to get the targeted Languages and Locations which I have set
for a particular campaign ID.

Old code:

TargetList[] targets =
campaignManager.getGoogle().getCampaignTargets(new long[]
{ campaigns[i].getId() });
for (TargetList target : targets)
{

if (target instanceof GeoTargetList)
{
for (GeoTarget geoTarget :
((GeoTargetList) target).getTargets())
{
countryCode =
((CountryTarget) geoTarget).getCountryCode();
}
}
}

How do I do the same thing in new version? I have tried this, but I do
not know how to get countryCode now.

 // Get the CampaignTargetService.
  CampaignTargetServiceInterface campaignTargetService =

user.getService(AdWordsService.V201109.CAMPAIGN_TARGET_SERVICE);

  long campaignId = campaigns[i].getId();

  // Create selector.
  CampaignTargetSelector selector = new
CampaignTargetSelector();
  selector.setCampaignIds(new long[] {campaignId});

   // Get all campaign targets.
  CampaignTargetPage page =
campaignTargetService.get(selector);

Iterating over TargetList / Getting more information about target in v201109

2011-12-08 Thread K D
Hi

Following the example at
http://www.google.com/codesearch/p?hl=en#9RD3n1d8sRQ/trunk/examples/v201109/GetAllCampaignTargets.java

 // Display campaign targets.
  if (page.getEntries() != null) {
for (TargetList targetList : page.getEntries()) {}

How would I iterate over TargetList so that I can get more information
about the target? (e.g. language it was targetting?)

I tried

for (Target t : targetList) but got the error that it is not
iteratable.

Thanks

Re: INVALID_INPUT error response when requesting a TrafficEstimate with > 5 groups.

2011-12-09 Thread Mike K.
Doing a bit of investigation, I found that the TrafficEstimatorResult
doesn't give the match type for the Keywords. So you cannot select
different matchtypes of the same keyword in the same group? (how could
you tell which result came from which matchtype?) Also, I believe that
the resolution to my question is that you cannot do a request for a
keyword with the same ID throughout ANY of your group estimates. i.e,
you can't have this structure:

camp1
   group1
  keyword1
  keyword2
   group2
  keyword2

in a trafficestimation request. (this is all speculation btw, but i
think it is a restriction in place).

Distinguishing between Country and Province / Getting country code or Province code (v201109)

2011-12-13 Thread K D
Hi

I am migrating from v201101 to v201109.

How will I distinguish whether a Location object is referring to a
Country or to a Province? One way I could think was to get the
Code(for e.g. US,CA ,US-CA ) and compare the length. But there is no
way to get the Country/Province Code in v201109.

What should be the ideal approach? The Criterion type is set to
"Location" in both cases(?) so we cannot distinguish on that basis, am
I right ?

Thanks for your help.

Regards
 KD

2011-12-14 Thread K D
Thanks Kevin, that was very helpful. I should have looked into the
example before asking this *blush*

If somebody wants to see the example, it is at
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-java/source/browse/trunk/examples/v201109/GetLocationCriteria.java

On an unrelated note, is it possible to get All Locations (countries,
regions etc) along with their Code? Similar to GetAllLanguages
example? i.e. Get a list of countries and their code without
specifying what strings you want matching on?

Best,
KD

Report off by one day? (v201109)

2012-01-13 Thread K D
Hi

I am migrating to v201109 version. And my usage is almost same as the
example given here
http://www.google.com/codesearch/p?hl=en#9RD3n1d8sRQ/trunk/examples/v201109/DownloadAdHocReport.java

Only difference being I use custom date. Here is what I observed:

same call with selector.setDateRange(2012-jan-12,2012-jan-12);
results in different behavior.

While in v201101 , it fetches report for Jan 12 but in v201109, it
fetches report for Jan 11.

I have been able to circumvent this issue by calling

selector.setDateRange(2012-jan-12,2012-jan-13); but I was wondering if
this is expected/something in documentation/anybody else experienced
this etc.

Thanks

How to set ReportID for downloading report? (v201109)

2012-01-16 Thread K D
Hi

Migrating to v201109, from the example at,
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-java/source/browse/trunk/examples/v201109/DownloadAdHocReport.java

We do not set reportID, but when downloading the report, we need the
reportID
http://code.google.com/p/google-api-adwords-java/source/browse/trunk/examples/v201109/DownloadReport.java

in v201101, I used ReportDefinition[] result =
getReportDefinitionService().mutate() to set reportID, what to do in
v201109?

Thanks

Data Discrepancy

2012-02-20 Thread Bryan K.
Group -

For a while we have been pulling reports from the AdWords API. But
recently, we noticed a discrepancy in the data that is displayed
online and what is actually returned from the API. In question is two
accounts that is showing cost data that is not matching with the
online data.

What would it be about these two accounts that is not allowing us to
pull accurate data through the API. I understand corrections for
click fraud, but this is only happening on a couple of accounts going
back more than a month.

Thanks.

Call Metrics Call Details Report

2018-03-05 Thread rohan . k

Hi,

For the Campaign Performance Report

, for the date range Feb 1 - Feb 28, the API returns that there are overall
42 phone calls for the an Adwords Express account.
However for the Call Metrics Call Details Report
,

the API returns an empty row for the same account. The Adwords UI does
return a result. Please see the screenshot attached.

I would be grateful for your assistance.

Thanks,
Rohan

Report API - get one row for one group, not multiple rows

2019-05-22 Thread Chen k.
Hello,

I want to get the data from report request as one row for one group, and i
will explain by example:
I send to request that i want to get: Clicks and Impressions, split by Date
(from 14-05-2019 - 15-05-2019)
the expected result is 2 rows, one row for one date:
'2019-05-14', 200, 500
'2019-05-15', 300, 550

but, the result contain many rows, like:
'2019-05-14', 70, 120
'2019-05-14', 100, 300
'2019-05-14', 30, 80
'2019-05-15', 200, 350
'2019-05-15', 100, 200

If i set the property: skipReportSummary = false, the total row contain
total data for all dates.

Why the result comes as multiple rows,
and how can i get the result by rows for each dimension?

I hope I was clear,
Thanks!

Re: Report API - get one row for one group, not multiple rows

2019-05-27 Thread Chen k.

Hello Dannison,

Thanks for your reply.

Actually, I found the reason of this problem, in this link:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53650063/basic-awql-request-campaing-performance-split-by-date-only

It occurred because I ask the clicks and impressions from the
KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT, so the results segmented by keyword.

I tried to get this metrics from ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT and the result
came right!

But if I want to continue get the results from the
KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE_REPORT, what can I do? Do you have an idea?

Thank you for helping!

How do I get Campaigns clustered by Labels at the keyword level?

2019-06-12 Thread K-T75
In the Google Ads UI you can create your own report. I want to rebuild this
table (see picture).

I want to get the performance data from every Label at keyword-level for
every campaign.

Problem: In the API you can't create your own reports. You have too choose
one, but it seems that no report is doing what I want to do.The
KEYWORDS_PERFORMANCE also not segments by labels and then there is too much
data. In a CAMPAIGN_PERFORMANCE_REPORT I don't have access to the keyword
level.

How can I rebuild this table or how do I get the data? I don't want to sum
up the performance data manually. Any ideas?

Re: API limits for TargetingIdeaService

2019-10-22 Thread Thiru K
Hi Josh,

Considering the above idea, we have increased the number of seed per
request to 200 for Keyword ideas and page size as 800. But when I increase
seeds above 100, the ideas output is reducing. PFB the test results.

Below is the results and counts

Run 1:

Page size = 800

No. of seeds per request = 100

Keyword idea count = 4030

Run 2 & 3:

Page size = 800  & 500

No. of seeds per request = 150

Keyword idea count = 2743

Run 4:

Page size = 800

No. of seeds per request = 200

Keyword idea count = 2023

On analyzing the results of Keyword ideas, there were difference in number
of keyword ideas generated. Could you please check why there is a reduction?

Thanks,
Thiru..

 Hello,

 My job is to get the search volume (STATS) for 10,000 keywords and pass
 in these 10,000 keywords to generate keyword ideas (IDEAS). I have a
 question on the API limits of the TargetingIdeaService.

 https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/limits#targeting-idea

 Looking at this link, I understand that I can send 700 keywords to get
 the stats and 200 keywords per request to get keyword ideas. If this is
 the
 limit, then I need ~ 15 API calls to get the STATS and 50 API calls to get
 the IDEAS. Does these 65 calls translate to 65 Operations ?

 In this page https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/ratesheet
 it says

 Operation: get
 Count: 100 targeting ideas
 Service: TargetingIdeaService 1

 How do I calculate the number of operations ?

 Also, are there restrictions on the number of keywords returned in the
 keyword ideas response ? If API returns 2000 keyword ideas for a batch of
 200, I will have to read it in batches of 700. Does reading through the
 response count towards the operations ?

 I already have the code to retry after the recommended time in case of
 rate limit errors.

 I am trying to find out the optimal payload size for my STATS and IDEAS
 reports.

 Thanks!
 Karthick

Hi Nikisha,

do you have any updates on this? I sent you the credentials in a private
message a little while ago.

It seems that we can call the API with other methods and that the problem
only occurs when using the Microsoft Azure DataFactory. So might be you
changed something in the API at the beginning of October that Microsoft has
not adapted to?

Cheers,
