2023-03-13 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Adam,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API team. I hope you are doing well
today.

With regards to your concern, to further check this issue, could you provide
the complete request and response logs with request ID and request header
generated on your end? If you haven't yet, logging can be enabled by
navigating to the Client libraries > Your client library (ex. Java) > Logging
documentation, which you can access from this link, so that we can further
check and provide precise guidance accordingly.

You can provide it via Reply privately to the author option. If this option is
not available, then send it instead on this email address
googleadsapi-supp...@google.com.

then I would suggest reaching out instead to the Google Cloud team via this

hanging search streams

2023-03-13 Thread Anna Sjöberg
Hello,
We have an issue with search stream using the Python client. We see that
quite often they freeze and then time out after over an hour giving us an
exception: 500 Received RST_STREAM with error code 2. On our end there is
no network usage or cpu load, so we seem to be waiting for something.
Successful runs take about a minute.
The date interval seems to affect this behaviour, eg failing to download
four days but succeeding with any smaller window.

Best regards,
Anna Sjöberg

2023-03-13 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for getting back to us. I hope you are doing well today.

Moving forward to your concern, you may refer to this document. This document
contains information on invite users through Google Ads API. As per document
said, you can send an email invitation to a new user as part of managing access
to a Google Ads account. This is done by creating a new
CustomerUserAccessInvitation using the MutateCustomerUserAccessInvitationmethod
of the CustomerUserAccessInvitationService. Please note that the email
invitation needs to be manually accepted by the user who received the
invitation. The invitation can also be accepted by the user using an alternate
email address.

I hope this helps.

Let us know if you have further questions.

RE: CUSTOMER_NOT_ALLOWLISTED_FOR_THIS_FEATURE error while trying to create a client customer

2023-03-13 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Ads API Support.

I can see that you have encountered a CUSTOMER_NOT_ALLOWLISTED_FOR_THIS_FEATURE
error. The error says that the Customer is not on the allow-list for the Email
address of the user who should be invited on the created client customer to be
added in your API request. Note that when creating client
customers,email_address feature is available to allowlisted accounts only as
mentioned on this document.

To resolve this error, you may need to reach out to the Google representative
to allow-list for said allowlisted fields (access_role, email_address) as
allowlisting process is out of scope for our team, and Google Representative is
the one who completes the process on your behalf. That being said, you will
need to be the one to allowlist these fields through your Manager account for
this feature to avoid the error. Otherwise, you may avoid adding said fields in
your API request to avoid said error. I hope this clarifies.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

RE: hanging search streams

2023-03-13 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi Anna,

Thank you for reaching out to Google Ads API Forum.

Moving forward with your concern, in order for us to further check the cause of
your issue, kindly provide us with the complete request and response logs with
the request-id generated on your end when you encountered the issue, so that
our team can take a closer look. We can check within these logs if the API
returned some errors or there is some issue on the python client library side.
You can provide it via the Reply privately to author option. If this option is
not available, then send it instead on this email address
googleadsapi-supp...@google.com.

For the Python client library, logging can be enabled by following this guide.
Kindly note that it would help us investigate the cause of your error if we
have these logs.

Re: API Hangs on MutateuserList command

2023-03-13 Thread Zweitze
Is the target .NET Framework? I mean: not .NET Core, .NET standard.
Then it could be a problem of the library.

Check if any call to the API hangs. If so, check out:
https://github.com/googleads/google-ads-dotnet/issues/488
https://github.com/googleads/google-ads-dotnet/issues/480

Extra proof could be obtained to downgrade the library to a version before
14.0.0.
That would also mean you have to go back to V11. But, for a quick test,
it's really worth it.

The solution is to use async methods, and that is a very painfull process.
If you're upgrading to V12, which sunsets in two weeks or so, you could be
looking at weeks of development - depending on your capabilities with C#
(esp. your proficiency with async coding) and the amount of your code.

Re: AddBatchJobOperations returns Internal error encountered.

2023-03-13 Thread Jing CHEN
Hello, I confirm that I have not violated any restrictions. In the test
code, I only added 5 campaigns to an account, but I kept getting internal
errors in AddBatchJobOperations. However, when I split the task into 3 and
2 campaigns respectively, it worked fine again, which is very strange! If
that's the case, I'll have to split all batch jobs into groups of 3, which
is unnecessary and very slow to execute. I really need your help. If
necessary, I can send you my code and logs via private message. I hope to
solve this problem. Best wishes.

Re: Image and Location Migration in Google Ads API

2023-03-13 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
For asset-based location extensions, it looks like it's preferred to use a
location sync asset set, which automatically generates the corresponding assets.
It looks like it is preferred to deal only in asset sets:
"First, create a location sync asset set and attach it to the customer. Then,
if you need to select a subset of the location assets in the asset set for a
campaign or ad group, create a location group asset set and attach it to the
campaign or ad group."

rwh: It is not preferred it is required.

It is not clear to me whether you have the option to directly generate and
associate single assets.
The asset set association does not specify type and is explained in the
document.
The asset association does have a specific type, but there does not look like
there is one that corresponds to a location.

rwh: This is a question for our support alias. I can answer question regarding
the auto-migration, but API usage questions should be in a separate request.

For asset-based image extensions, it looks like there are no asset sets for
them based on the allowed types in the asset set:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/v13/AssetSetTypeEnum.AssetSetType

so I should create individual assets for each image extension and associate it
to the customer/campaign/adgroup with an association
(customer_asset/campaign_asset/ad_group_asset).

rwh: https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/samples/upload-image-asset
shows how to upload an image asset. Once uploaded if you are using it as a
field type AD_IMAGE you can link it to CampaignAsset
or AdGroupAsset.

Question - For image extensions that are migrated to asset-based extensions,
what is the asset association type?
The list here in the documentation has something clearly labeled for other
extension types:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/reference/rpc/v13/AssetFieldTypeEnum.AssetFieldType

For example: "The asset is linked for use as a Sitelink extension."
I venture to guess that the only one that makes sense is "AD_IMAGE", but I
would like confirmation since it isn't in the document that Bob sent and it
says:

"The asset is linked for use to select an ad image." rather than anything about
extensions.

For what it's worth, I think it'd be helpful if more documentation was linked
in the blog post announcing the auto-migration.
I think guides and examples on how to migrate each of the extension types
manually and retrieve the data back would be helpful.

rwh: We have documentation pending that will be available prior to the start of
the auto-migration. The field type will most likely be AD_IMAGE as you state.

If the source was used as field type:
HEADLINE

LONG_HEADLINE

DESCRIPTION

MANDATORY_AD_TEXT

CALL_TO_ACTION_SELECTION

It will be moved within the same type of ad originally used.

Re: Link manager , USER_PERMISSION_DENIED

2023-03-13 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via Google Ads API and AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Thank you for returning back to our team.

Regarding your issue, as mentioned, the reason why you are getting the
USER_PERMISSION_DENIED is because the provided user/email address does not have
access to the account (215-427-2009). You may see the below options in order to
add or grant access to your provided user/email address:

Managing User Access (Through the Google Ads API)
Manage access to your Google Ads account (Manually or through the Google Ads UI)

As for "how should the sub-account under the user be linked to my managerId",
are you referring to linking the sub/client account to the manager account? If
yes, then you may see the options depending on what is your preferred way of
doing this:

Linking to Manager Accounts (Through the Google Ads API)
Link accounts to your manager accounts (Manually or through the Google Ads UI)

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Google Ads API Team

Ads limited to few zip codes

2023-03-13 Thread lamponr
Ads are only being served to a fraction of the zip codes I am targeting.
So, a few zips account for all the impressions... and other zips are at 0.
Why would that be? Even if budget is small - its serving hundreds of
impressions to 1 zip code before any other zip code gets an impression...
what am I missing?

Re: GAQL query is working for predefined date ranges but not for custom date range

2023-03-13 Thread Roy Steves
Maybe there wasn't at the time, but there sure is now.

There is according to the examples here:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/query/overview#querying_for_segments

I haven't found the list of acceptable values yet, so maybe that
documentation is out of date, but it is for the current version of the API.

This validated, for example:
SELECT
  campaign.id,
  campaign.name,
  campaign.status,
  metrics.impressions,
  segments.date
FROM campaign
WHERE campaign.status = 'PAUSED'
  AND metrics.impressions > 1000
  AND segments.date during LAST_30_DAYS
ORDER BY campaign.id

Re: GAQL query is working for predefined date ranges but not for custom date range

2023-03-13 Thread Roy Steves
Found the list of current values:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/query/date-ranges

And the reason that the documentation said that "DURING" was deprecated was
that it was describing the sunset of the independent clause, but it's been
replaced with an operator.

So, it's like "during" used to be a sibling to WHERE (like sort order and
group by in SQL), but now it's part of the WHERE clause itself. That
change is documented here:
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/migration/querying

Relevant excerpt: "Date filtering is different. There is no longer a DURING
clause;
instead, DURING is an operator that can be used in WHERE clauses. Filter
the field date using the DURING clause for the same functionality as the
DURING clause in AWQL."

Why is asset.policy_summary.approval_status and asset.policy_summary.review_status fields empty from ad_group_ad_asset_view?

2023-03-13 Thread pg
Hi,

I'm trying to get asset.policy_summary.approval_status
and asset.policy_summary.review_status fields from ad_group_ad_asset_view,
but whenever I do it I get None back for these 2 fields.
Here's my query
"SELECT ad_group_ad_asset_view.policy_summary, ad_group_ad.ad.id,
ad_group.id, campaign.id, asset.id, asset.text_asset.text,
metrics.impressions, asset.policy_summary.approval_status,
asset.policy_summary.review_status FROM ad_group_ad_asset_view WHERE
segments.date >= '2023-03-07' AND segments.date <= '2023-03-13'"

It's weird that the ad_group_ad_asset_view.policy_summary field is not
empty or None but both asset.policy_summary.approval_status and
asset.policy_summary.review_status are. I'm using the python client library.

Thanks,
