Re: Questions about the Google Ads Query Language v6

2021-11-08 Thread FW API
The answer to question is apparently wrong. In case of more than 20k
predicate values the API produces FILTER_HAS_TOO_MANY_VALUES.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your concern.

I would like to inform you first that I am going to delete your post as it
contains generated logs on your end.

Moving forward, the issue should not be related to allow listing as the Smart
Campaigns API is currently in open beta. With this, would you be able to follow
this guide for creating a smart campaign? If the error persists, please provide
the complete request and response logs with request ID and request header
generated on your end where we can see the error. You can provide it via Reply
privately to author option. If this option is not available, then send it

2021-11-08 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Martin,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Could you confirm if you already followed the instructions discussed in this
document, especially the prerequisite? If yes and the issue still persists,
then could you provide the following details via Reply privately to author
option to further investigate?

User account / email address that you've used in setting up service account
through API
Customer ID
Complete request and response logs with request ID generated on your end where
we can see the issue

However, kindly note that we strongly recommend using OAuth2 desktop app or web
app flow instead of service accounts unless you need a domain-specific feature
(for example, impersonation). OAuth2 desktop app and web app flows do require
an initial user interaction for granting access to the account, but are much
simpler to set up.

RE: List of supported languages and invalid characters

2021-11-08 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi William,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Kindly see below responses to your queries:

- a list of which languages the Ads API officially supports (does it match the
Google Translation API, or are there differences?)

>> Kindly note that Google Ads API officially supports only the English
>> language. However, for targeting criteria, you may find this document.

- a list of any extra invalid characters for KeywordPlans in foreign languages.
The ones I'm aware of and already strip out are (as a PHP array):

[':', ',', '!', '@', '%', '^', '(', ')', '=', '{', '}', ';', '~', '`', '<',
'>', '?', "\", '|','.']

>> Extra invalid characters for KeywordPlans are related to a specific client
>> library. I recommend you to reach out to the respective client library owner
>> by filing an issue on the issue tracker on the Issue tab of your chosen
>> client library on github, so that they can provide guidance on it.

Also does Google do any post-processing on keywords?

Uploading Image Assets via REST API

2021-11-08 Thread 'Greg Asquith' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

I've been uploading Image Assets via the REST API and the assets are
successfully uploaded, but when I come to create a responsive display ad
using these images, I receive an error message.

This only occurs when cropping an image in the Ad Creation tool within
Google Ads to the correct dimensions - uploading and using a square image
without cropping does not throw the error.

When I upload the same images manually in the Google Ads platform, the
errors do not occur when cropping.

What could be causing images being uploaded through the API to be unable to
be cropped?

Thanks

Re: Create Campaign Error

2021-11-08 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi,

Thanks for posting on this forum thread.

Could you confirm if you encountered
“CANNOT_SET_SELECTIVE_OPTIMIZATION_DURING_OR_POST_UNIFIED_GOAL_MIGRATION” error
while trying to set selective optimization on Search or Display campaign using
AdWords API? If yes, then it’s intended behavior since selective optimization
is expected to work on app campaigns as shown here.

However, you can set conversions for a campaign. You may consider using the v9
version of the Google Ads API
(https://ads-developers.googleblog.com/2021/11/announcing-v9-of-google-ads-api.html).
 In the Google Ads API v9, there is a concept called Conversion Goals where you
can set custom goals for your campaign.

maximize_conversions.target_cpa vs. target_cpa.target_cpa_micros

2021-11-08 Thread Mat
Hi there,

do we have to use "micros" when setting the new
campaign.maximize_conversions.target_cpa

value like we used to use "micros" when setting the
campaign.target_cpa.target_cpa*_micros*
?

Since both fields are of type int64 (at least according to the
description), that seems plausible. But on the other hand - why on earth
didn't you name that field campaign.maximize_conversions.target_cpa*_micros*
then?
Or is the error in the description and the field is no longer of type
integer but double?

Please clarify. I would like to avoid committing some million dollar error
in our client accounts, if possible.

Regards
Mat

Tracking Offline Conversion with Node.js

2021-11-08 Thread Oriol Barcelo
Hello!

My team is trying to send a conversion event with the Google Click ID, the
conversion name, the conversion time, and the conversion currency, every
time the status for one of our clients change (a couple times per day).

We are using a Node.js framework for our backend, but looking at the guide (
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/conversion-tracking)
there doesn't seem to be a Node.js library that allows us to do this.

We are already using the googleapis library, and we were hoping we could
use it for this as well.

But if it is not possible, can we do HTTP requests sending and receiving
JSON? We have a client e-mail and private key that we use for authorization
when using Google Indexing, could we use it as well?

Thank you for any help you can provide,
Oriol

Re: RESOURCE_LIMIT error adding ads to groups

2021-11-08 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Evgeniy,

The trigger for this error message is
"ENABLED_UNIVERSAL_APP_CREATIVES_PER_AD_GROUP". A Universal App creative refers
to an ad from an App Campaign. Further details are given in the error message:
resource_count_details { enclosing_id: "128780011834" limit: 1 limit_type:
APP_ADS_PER_AD_GROUP existing_count: 1 enclosing_resource: "ad_group" }

This indicates that you may only have one ad per App Campaign Ad Group, and
that this resource limit is being exceeded with the attempted operation.

Could you privately send us a request and response log of API communication

library you use in the sidebar of our client library guide and click on
"Logging". Setting the logger to 'DEBUG' will get the desired log.

Re: Uploading Image Assets via REST API

2021-11-08 Thread 'Greg Asquith' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Aryah,

Thanks for getting back to me - I'm using the REST API through Google Apps
Script as follows (The URL is a .png file stored in an AWS S3 bucket):

var headers = {
'developer-token': 'TOKEN',
'Authorization': 'Bearer ' + ACCESS_TOKEN,
'login-customer-id' : 'MANAGER_ACCOUNT_ID',
'Content-type': 'application/json'
};

var blob = UrlFetchApp.fetch(URL).getBlob();
var bytes = blob.getBytes();
var encodedBlob = Utilities.base64EncodeWebSafe(bytes);
var size = blob.getBytes().length;
var name = FILENAME;
var payload = {
'operations': [
{
"create": {
"name" : name,
"imageAsset": {
"mimeType": 'IMAGE_PNG',
"fullSize": {
"heightPixels": IMAGE_HEIGHT,
"widthPixels": IMAGE_WIDTH,
"url": URL
},
"data": encodedBlob,
"fileSize": size
},
}
},
]
};
var options = {
'headers' : headers,
'method' : 'post',
'contentType': 'application/json',
'payload' : JSON.stringify(payload),
"muteHttpExceptions" : true
};
var endpoint =
"https://googleads.googleapis.com/v9/customers/"+ACCOUNT_ID+"/assets:mutate";;
var response = JSON.parse(UrlFetchApp.fetch(endpoint, options));

The response variable simply contains a Resource Name for the successfully
created asset, but when attempting to select/crop the two ratios (1.91:1
and 1:1) and Save, the following error appears in red next to the save
button:

*There's an error in your selected images. Please remove the image with
error before save.*

The cropping is successful when uploading the exact same image file
manually, so file size or dimensions is not the issue.

Thanks,

Hello,

Thank you for raising your concern. I understand that you’ve encountered the
error 'invalid_grant'.

Can you please try regenerating your OAuth2 credentials along with the refresh
token and see if this behavior persists?

Please let us know if you continue to see this issue.

Re: Service account authentication issues

2021-11-08 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Jakob,

Would it be possible for your application to use either of the Desktop or Web
App OAuth strategies instead of Service Accounts? Although they require human
intervention, you should only need to intervene once to create a refresh token,
which can then be used to generate access tokens automatically without human
intervention. I think this would be preferable to using a Service Account,
which we normally only recommend when someone needs to use impersonation.

If you have any questions about setting that up let me know.

Best,
Ben, Google Ads API Team

RE: Service account give NOT_ADS_USER error

2021-11-08 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hi Pratik,

Did the the domain administrator delegate domain-wide authority to your service
account? Does the delegated account a user in the ads account you are trying to
reach?

Could you privately send us a request and response log of API communication
that returns this error? The request and response appears similar to the JSON
Mappings in our REST documentation. Our client libraries have loggers with
logging instructions, to see these instructions you can click on the client
library you use in the sidebar of our client library guide and click on
"Logging". Setting the logger to 'DEBUG' will get the desired log.

Change Status Service suffers from daylight savings time bug

2021-11-08 Thread Jonathan Stack
Hello,

when executing the following query:
SELECT change_status.resource_name, change_status.last_change_date_time,
change_status.resource_type, change_status.ad_group_criterion,
change_status.resource_status FROM change_status WHERE
change_status.last_change_date_time >= '2021-11-07 01:59:59.999' AND
change_status.last_change_date_time <= '2021-11-08 12:00:51.7769511' AND
change_status.resource_type = 'AD_GROUP_CRITERION' ORDER BY
change_status.last_change_date_time LIMIT 1
we receive data starting with last_change_date_time beginning with values
'2011-11-07 01:10:50.726134'

however for query
SELECT change_status.resource_name, change_status.last_change_date_time,
change_status.resource_type, change_status.ad_group_criterion,
change_status.resource_status FROM change_status WHERE
change_status.last_change_date_time >= '2021-11-07 02:00:00.000' AND
change_status.last_change_date_time <= '2021-11-08 12:00:51.7769511' AND
change_status.resource_type = 'AD_GROUP_CRITERION' ORDER BY
change_status.last_change_date_time LIMIT 1
we receive only one record beginning at 2021-11-08 09:22:23 Please draw
your attention to the first query where specifically we ask for data
change_status.last_change_date_time
>= '2021-11-07 01:59:59.999'

yet receive data with timestamp less than that filter

this results in a time loop where we take the last received timestamp in a
batch for 10k and use that in the next query for the next batch of 10k only
to get the same batch we just requested. We are stuck in a time loop.

RE: Tracking Offline Conversion with Node.js

2021-11-08 Thread 'Google Ads API Forum Advisor' via AdWords API and Google Ads API Forum
Hello Oriol,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

With regard to the AdWords API link you've provided, I can confirm that Node.js
framework isn't included to the list of our supported client libraries.
However, in the Google Ads API's perspective, you can make use of the REST
interface via this guide.

Please note that the AdWords API is deprecated and will be sunset on April 27,
2022. We strongly recommend that you migrate to the Google Ads API as soon as
possible.

RE: Adwords API to googleads migration

Hello Fahima,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Looking on the error encountered, you would need to enable the Google Ads API
in your project. You can check on this guide for more details.

As an aside, I will be removing your original post as it contains Google Cloud
project information. Please refrain from sharing these information in the forum
thread. Below is a copy of your post with the masked details.

I'm trying to run the following script

import argparse

from google.ads.googleads.errors import GoogleAdsException

def main(client, customer_id):

ga_service = client.get_service("GoogleAdsService")

# Issues a search request using streaming.

stream = ga_service.search_stream(customer_id=customer_id, query=query)

for batch in stream:

for row in batch.results:

)

# The following argument(s) should be provided to run the example.

parser.add_argument(
"-c",
"--customer_id",
type=str,
required=True,

)

args = parser.parse_args()

try:
main(googleads_client, args.customer_id)
except GoogleAdsException as ex:

print(

f'Request with ID "{ex.request_id}" failed with status '

if error.location:

for field_path_element in error.location.field_path_elements:

sys.exit(1)

For the "customer_id" I'm plugging in the client customer ID that was provided
with my adwords credentials, it's formatted as "###=###="

I keep receiving the following error
google.api_core.exceptions.PermissionDenied: 403 Google Ads API has not been
