Error in pulling adwords reports in a code that was working properly till Sep 03, 2015

2015-09-04 Thread jaison . directi
I am using this [https://github.com/googleads/aw-reporting] Java library to
pull adwords reports.

It was working properly yesterday. However, from 2015-09-03 18:45:11 UTC
the code has failed to pull reports.

Just wanted to check if there is an issue at adwords API end since I get
the error Unexpected error accessing the API: null from the above mentioned
library.

I'm not sure if the issue I face is related to the one mentioned
here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/adwords-api/GNwK5j0So4Q

My logs seem to suggest that the error is being thrown in the section to do
with Managed Customers

Please confirm if there is some issue with the adwords API or not

ManagedCustomerService - canMangeClients

2015-09-04 Thread Peter Lanser
Hi,

we are using the ManagedCustomerService to get a list of customers. Amongst
other fields we are selecting 'canMangeClients'.

It seems that the behavior is different since a couple of days:
canManageClients is not always set. It's seems to be true for customers
which can manage clients and null otherwise.

Can you confirm that this is correct? It used to be false instead of null.

Regards,
Peter

I just heard back from the reporting team, who informed me that this is
actually by design. The URLs for shopping ads aren't directly handled by
AdWords so it doesn't have access to their effective final URLs.

Re: Java: How to AWQL report multiple accounts in MCC

2015-09-04 Thread Anthony Madrigal
Hey Sean,

Unfortunately, there is no way to run a report on the MCC level. In order
to get reports across all accounts, you will need to send a separate report
request for each account

by setting the *clientCustomerId.*

For a new MCC account to apply for API Token: how?

2015-09-04 Thread Miao Wang Alfred
Hi there,
I recently applied for API token and got rejected, the major reason I read
from the email is because the MCC account is new and doesn't have much
history. While we are new we are serious about using API token to automate
our machine learning algorithm for AdWords optimization. Although not too
much history, we have tried manually doing some AdWords bidding to
understand the underlying parameter configurations. We've negotiated
collaboration deals with cross border e-commerce platforms, and their
platform alone has 600K transaction per month. All that is pending API
token to really execute our python optimizer. I understand google's taking
precautions when reviewing new MCC account application, but for start up
companies like us, how can we prove to google that we are fully capable and
are doing serious technology driven business with AdWords API?

Really appreciate your time and patience to help us!

Best Regards,

Miao

I am able to change cpcBid using MutateJobService's

Please guide me.

Also when I have used MutateJobService's AdGroupCriterionOperation I am
getting Job id in negative number like "-652145879952", Is this correct Job
Id, or it is due to I am using the test environment?

Thanks,

Problems migrating from ClientLogin to OAuth

2015-09-04 Thread Derek M
The last time I worked on AdWords API was about two years ago when
ClientLogin was still supported for authorization. I see that no longer is
the case now and I must move to using OAuth. I've been having a lot of
trouble understanding how to do this.

I'm using server-side Javascript for this and cannot use any client
libraries (didn't see any available for AdWords using Javascript anyways).
I use Javascript to compose and parse the SOAP requests/responses.

Inside the guide it looks like I should just need to send a POST request to
this URL with a few parameters (line breaks for readability):
https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/auth?
scope=email%20profile&
redirect_uri=http://localhost&;
response_type=code&
client_id=149278968815.apps.googleusercontent.com

However, when I try to do this, I receive a 400 Error saying that "The
redirect URI in the request: http://localhost did not match a registered
redirect URI."

I have the Redirect URI set within the Developer Console > APIs & auth >
Credentials > OAuth client IDs and in there it shows http://localhost for
the authorized Redirect URI. The other option I could find in the guide
uses some variation of urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob , but when I try to set
the Redirect URI within this section to that, I am unable to and receive
this error "Invalid Redirect: urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob must use either
http or https as the scheme"

All I'm trying to do from this is get an offline token that does not expire
for a while (refresh token I believe is the term) that I can then use
within the AdWords API calls I need to make. Can someone help me with
figuring out what I'm doing wrong here?

iOS SDK - Conversion Label not appearing in debug console

2015-09-04 Thread Adam Ribaudo

Hi everyone,

We're implemented Google AdWords conversion tracking within our iPad app
following the instructions here -
https://developers.google.com/app-conversion-tracking/ios/

We copied the code snippet from AdWords and have placed that within our
iPad application.

However, since releasing the app and testing this process we're not
receiving any conversions in AdWords.

In trouble-shooting this, I noticed that our Conversion Label isn't being
output in our debug console:

2015-08-19 14:17:50.065 Language Builder copy[1718:508609]
ACTAutomatedUsageReporterPrivate: sending ping:
https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion/976314236/?appversion=1&auto=1&bundleid=com.stage...

Whereas the documentation mentions numerous times that you should "pay
attention to the label" in your debug output:

If you're tracking other conversion events in your app, you should see
messages logged for those events each time they occur. Unlike downloads,
which are tracked only once per app install, other in-app events are
tracked each time the event occurs. Pay special attention to the labels
that were provided to you when verifying your setup (e.g.,
abCDEFG12hIJk3Lm4nO in the example shown above).

Can anyone confirm if our debug output is formatted correctly? Can anyone
share theirs as a comparison?

Hi Derek,

The simplest thing to do would be to
use https://developers.google.com/oauthplayground/ to generate a refresh
token and an access token. The scope to use
is https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords.

Once you get the refresh token, it can be used to obtain an access token
that expires every hour. Use the access token in the Authorization header
to make API calls.

If you need the detailed logs, take a look
at https://developers.google.com/identity/protocols/OAuth2WebServer?hl=en.
Look at the offline flow that obtains a refresh token.

About urn:ietf:wg:oauth:2.0:oob: You can use that as a redirect URI iff the
OAuth project type is marked as installed application. So you need to fix
the project type in the Google Developer console.

I would also
recommend
https://github.com/googleads/googleads-dotnet-lib/wiki/How-to-create-OAuth2-client-id-and-secret

as a guide. I think the UI is a bit dated, but the flow is unchanged.

Let me know if you need more help.

Cheers,
Anash P. Oommen,
AdWords API Advisor.

P.S: Just wondering, have you tried using AdWords Scripts? Does that work
for you? https://developers.google.com/adwords/scripts/

Re: How can I remove one extra link in a group?

2015-09-04 Thread Anash P. Oommen (AdWords API Team)
Hi Maxim,

You can do a SET with all the extensionSetting you want to keep, and the
ones missing in the request would be dropped.

Cheers,

Hi,

Good news: this issue has been fixed. If you still see missing
*canManageClients* elements going forward (when "CanManageClients" is in
the selector), please let me know.

Thanks,

Re: MutateJobService in Bulk to change keywords CPC

2015-09-04 Thread Umesh Dengale
Hi Chirag,

The CampaignCriterionOperation

 of
the MutateJobService is used to add/update the criteria across the
*campaign*. Please check out our SetBidModifier

 example
of the Java client library. This example describes the uses of the
CampaignCriterionOperation
using the CampaignCriterionService. The MutateJobService may assign a
negative number to a job id.

Umesh, AdWords API Team.
